What is the maximum weight this product can hold?

Six handguns and ammo. A lot of weight. I’ve never measured. I use the pack several times a week no signs of wear yet

Is there room for magazines in the individual gun holders? If not, how many magazine pouches are there?

Short answer: I can easily fit two extra magazines in the pistol pockets with my pistol. There are no dedicated magazine slots, but there's plenty of room to fit them elsewhere. So in the pack, there are no dedicated magazine pouches. That is to say there are no perfectly sized slots to place a magazine. That being said, there is room for magazines in the pistol cases. I generally keep my extra magazines in the side pockets, though, to avoid minor wear on my pistols that may incur from the extra magazines rubbing against the pistols in these sleeves. can some of the pistol slots be removed so that a break down long gun can fit?

Not without modifications. The compartments are entirely isolated by fabric. The pistol pouches can be pulled out at will, but there's no slot or hole or anything of the like to pass a breakdown long gun through.
