EXCELLENT BOOT!
I broke my right foot in 3 places. 3rd, 4th, & 5th metatarsals. My foot sat well enough in the boot to relieve all of the pain. I could walk on it without any trouble. Also, it has a rocker like bottom so it mimicked the motion of the foot well enough to make walking comfortable. The cushioning inside is perfect and it fit me perfect and is true to size, and it came with additional little cushions to put on bony areas if needed. I LOVED THIS BOOT and totally recommend it. It's been almost 6 weeks and I'm walking without the boot now. NOTE: Because this boot makes your gait uneven, I wore a platform type 'black' (to match the boot) shoe on the other foot to somewhat balance the height between legs, so that I didn't walk crooked or throw out a hip or disk by walking unevenly. It worked out very well that way.

Just buy it!
Sprained my big toe and almost ripped my entire nail off because my toe got caught in my long flowy stretchy pants (BE CAREFUL, THOSE PANTS ARE DANGEROUS). I'm fairly young, in my 30s, and if I'd have been older it would have been a much worse situation. I went DOWN and came really close to hitting my head on a table. Couldn't even get off the floor for 20 minutes because of the pain. Just a PSA before my actual review of the boot. This boot is AWESOME. I went from worrying that I had done extensive damage to my foot, to hobbling around almost back to normal for my daily activities (no driving, obviously). No, the boot didn't miraculously heal me, but it sure as heck beats the equipment I got from the hospital in both effectiveness and price (can't wait to see how much the crutches are on my final bill). For around $30 I went from being in pain to having a safe way to protect my toe and keep it healing while I continue to do my job that has me on my feet all day. The comfort of the boot is pretty standard. I do wish they came with a couple more pads, BUT it comes with four and for most people that's probably sufficient. It's definitely enough to do the job. The boot is sturdy, and the straps are easily adjusted. I have what I like to call "athletic" calves (aka they're so fat I can't wear normal boots), and there is PLENTY of room in the calf area, so no worries there! Highly recommend. Can't beat this thing for the price!

Perfect for Broken Toe
This is exactly what i needed to help my broken toe. I broke my toe and couldnt walk without pain, this boot made me mobile again. I am a regular womens 9.5 with wide feet and i got the small, i definitely recommend that if you are between sizes to order the smaller one! It feels way more secure, not too tight at all. Seems very sturdy I have used it to walk around not only my house but my regular city commute as well for the past few days and have seen no signs of damage. The velcro is really sticky so be careful to not get your sock or the foam stuck to it. I will say i am not the biggest fan of the rocking sole (curved outer sole), maybe i am just not used to walking that way or get the purpose of the rocking since i didnt injure my ankle. All in all, 5 stars and I would definitely recommend this walking boot for a toe/foot injury.

Quick shipping, good fit, but foam wears out too quickly
I needed to get a walking boot quickly when a flat foot started giving me a lot of pain. This boot shipped quickly, was relatively cheap, and gave me the support I needed to control the pain. I'm a women's shoe size 8, with a thick calf. The boot was comfortable at the top and the toe, but loose around the ankle itself. I padded it out with some of the extra foam pads that came along with the boot, and by wearing an ace bandage under the boot. So, the boot did what I needed it to do. However, the foam padding in the liner and attached to the side supports compressed very quickly, within a couple of weeks. I contacted Braceability to see if I could buy replacement pads, and they said no. So that seems sort of silly, to not manufacture replacements for the soft parts of this boot system, when the velcro and hard plastic parts still have a lot of wear in them. But basically this boot did what I needed it to in the short term. It just isn't so great over the long run.

Great at right size
I originally ordered this boot in a medium according to the shoe size chart.... not a good idea in my case. Normally I wear a size 9.5 wide, but the medium was way too big. There was a 1.5 inch end at the top of my foot, and no matter what I did I couldn't get the boot tight enough. After endless attempts and 3 days of trying, I finally gave up and ordered the small... good choice. The boot only has a 1/4 inch gap now at the top and it was easy to get tight the second attempt.. it required a thicker sock. For me a size small was just right, but then the walking boot is such a wide fit I guess that's why I could size down. I felt instant pain relief from my Achilles tendinitis. I have had this condition for over 7 months and it's not healing, so the doctor recommended the boot for 6 weeks. You can imagine how important it was to get the right fit! Now I couldn't be happier... as happy as you can be with a clumsy boot on your foot! I would definitely recommend this walker for the sturdiness and the strength of the Velcro. With the right fit I am sure this would work well for you too!

Decent boot for broken big toe
I went to urgent care yesterday morning for a suspected broken big toe. When the doc confirmed that the toe was indeed broken, he wrote me an RX for a CAM Walking Boot. Since my insurance wouldn't cover it, I decided to simply purchase off of Amazon with same-day shipping (no RX needed). The boot arrived the same day, and saved me from driving around to medical supply stores to find a boot. While the conventional guidance is that there is nothing that you can do for a broken toe, please check with your doctor! I've broken other toes before, and been left with arthritis because they didn't heal properly. This time I wanted to make sure I was taking every precaution to make sure that I wouldn't have problems in the future. Pros: - Inexpensive. I am sure this is way less than what I would've spent at a medical supply store - Easy to use. The boot isn't complicated, and it's fairly simple to take on and off - Breathable. Because the boot is not fully encased in plastic, it lets your foot breath a little bit. You will still be hot because of the neoprene material though, so don't expect to be too comfortable. - Extra foam and Velcro tabs make this adjustable - It keeps your foot stable so your toes can heel - The neoprene-type cloth that wraps around your foot is hand-washable Cons: - It's VERY difficult to get this boot tight enough so that my ankle/foot movement is limited. Like another customer, I had to wrap a dish-towel around my calf several times and then really buckle down the Velcro. If I had known that I would have this problem, I would've purchased a boot that you can pump up with air to tighten the area around your calf/ankle. My quick fix is working, but is making my leg/ankle very warm because of all of the extra layering. - Like other customers have mentioned, the sizing is challenging. I am a size 6.5 to 7, and purchased the small. The boot is a good 2 inches too long for me. My toes do not come close to touching the end of the boot. Things that are beyond this boot's control... - Anytime you wrap up your foot you will be hot. Anytime your foot gets hot, it will probably sweat and be uncomfortable. I'm definitely uncomfortable, but I know it's not the boot's fault. - Having a foot injury is awful. This boot is not going to fix all of your problems, but it may help your recovery be less painful. - Walking boots elevate your stance on one leg to be a good 2 inches or so higher than the other. You will be walking like Quasimodo. Find a good shoe for your other foot with a little lift in the heel to balance out your hips and your stride.

BraceAbility Short Walking Boot
This walking boot worked just great. I sprained my foot and using this boot helped me walk with support to my foot and allowed it to start the healing process. Arrived on time and I was very glad I got it!!

Absolutely LOVE this boot!
Broke my big toe - both bones - and the orthopedist recommended crutches...as I told her, being the klutz I am I would probably suffer major trauma if I used crutches. I'd already found/bought this boot and it got to me within 24 hours. It is very easy to ware - no 'bladders' or balloons to inflate, but has several foam inserts to account for looseness or rubbing. I am able to walk normally (except for caution on stairs) and am much more mobile than with a regular shoe, as the pressure is off my toes. One 'caution' is that the boot raises your foot higher than most flat shoes, so make sure you have a sneaker or loafer that is at least 1.5 inches high in the heel so each leg lands 'evenly'. other wise you could end up with a sore hip or knee. Using the boot also realigns leg muscles, so you may feel some slight discomfort the first day or so. Another purchaser noted that women wearing size 9 shoes should get the small, not the medium. I followed her advice and am glad I did: the small fits perfectly in the foot and anything larger would have had to go back.
