Great pants
My Job as an industrial mechanic requires me to periodically kneel on concrete to inspect and repair machines. This has become more painful as I edge closer to forty years of age, so I decided to look into some proper work pants. I tried Caterpillar and Blaklader, but sent them both back because they didn't fit right and had weird pockets. After one day in these Timberland pants, I went home and ordered two more pairs, then I washed my first pair every night until the new ones showed up because I just couldn't go back to the bad old days of regular pants. The knee pad pockets are a lifesaver. They're a little cumbersome with the knee pads inserted, but most days I just use some foam from a mouse pad. When I have a big repair, I use the actual knee pads (not included). The pockets are more or less the standard carpenter pant layout, with the exception of the cell phone pocket being rotated toward the back. This is a really great design, as my phone no longer binds when I squat. This saves wear and tear on my phone as well as my leg.The material seems extremely durable, kind of like Carhartt but softer. The knee panels seem indestructible. The only bad thing is that your co-workers WILL make fun of you (because they're jerks). Just accept that "fancypants" is your new nickname and move on, smug in your knowledge that they wont be able to walk when they're sixty.Update: One year in these pants, and I'm still very happy with them. I have five pairs of the Pro Benders, and all are still in great shape. No tearing, no fraying, and they seem very resistant to stains. I also replaced all my leisure pants with Timberland Pro, at great expense, because I found my old Dungarees uncomfortable and realized that I was wearing my work pants on the weekend. Her are quick reviews of their other pants:Gridflex canvas: A+ Just like the bender, minus knee pad pockets and hammer loop. My favorite of all.Grit and Grime flex denim: A+ My favorite jeans ever. Super comfortable, but run a bit large around the waist.8 Series flex canvas: B- Great pants, but come out of the dryer very wrinkled. That's all I have to say about pants.

great Pants. Don’t buy on amazon!
First of all they get 5 starts cause they are great. They got me great too. DO NOT BUY THEM ON AMAZON. Go to timberlands website and you will get a free pair of knee pads. They are supposed to come with a free pair and they are amazing knee pads. I tried them on in store and they did not have my size so I ordered them on amazon. The ones in the store come with knee pads and the ones from there website come with them. The amazon sellers are just trying to rip you off. Now back to the pants. They fit me great. Just the right amount of thickness to were they will last and not be heavy as hell. The knee pad fabric is made of a more durable fabric so you don’t get holes in them. And the pockets are useful. All in all a great pair of pants and if I have gotten the pads with the pants I would say with the price but your just getting ripped off on amazon. Thankfully I bought the knee pads separately so I had a pair, witch you can no longer buy on amazon. Just go to timberland’s website.

Heavy Duty - Perfect for my use.
I am a weekend warrior both in my garage working on 'toys' as well as landscaping work around the house. I purchased these pants because of the extra layer for the knee pad pockets because my old jeans I wear for such work only lasts like two or three wears before the knee blows out. I recently wore these while reshaping my flower beds and mulching which meant a lot of time on my knees as I cut out the bed edges and spread mulch by hand. These pants worked far better than I imagined. Do yourself a favor and just get the knee pads as well - i did not and added foam which worked ok, but I am ordering the pads this week. For being heavy duty and black, the pants were actually fairly cool as it was almost 90 and they were still comfortable to wear. I cannot speak to overall durability as again, I will use these like once a month as needed and not as professional contractor, but I would think two pairs would give you a year easily if worn every other day on the job site.

Comfortable, tough, well made, fit well.
These fit well in length but only come in even sizes so ordered a size bigger and wear a belt. Really like the knee pad inserts, much better than the pinch of slide ons. Pant material is tough; wears and launders well. I am on my knees in metal shavings and other construction debris nearly 10/hrs/day, these are a lifesaver. I have 2 pair, worn 5 days/week since Feb. and still in excellent shape.

Good work pant unless you're tall
They're rugged and comfortable. The knee pad pocket is large enough to accept any normal size knee pad. So if you've got specific pads you'd rather use, they should work just fine. And the pads are easy to take out and put back in when not needed. However, at the time of this writing, once you get to a size 40 waste, the longest length you can get is 32. It's not that they're sold out of that size, they just don't even produce them. I'll make do with these but I'll only buy another pair if they increase the length on the larger waste sizes. The phone and pencil pockets on the right pant leg are nice but the phone pocket won't accept larger phones that are in a protective case. An iPhone 6 with an Otter Box case is the largest it'll take. Also, those two pockets are the only extra pockets you get beyond what's on any normal pair of pants. So I wish they would've added more pockets on the left leg. Then I wouldn't have to wear a tool bag for some jobs.

Heavy duty work pant
These pants are very heavy duty. I think they'd be a little to heavy for summer wear. Extremely durable, and great outdoor work pant. Be advised they came with removeable knee pads, so don't do like I did and by a separate pair.

Perfect fit
These pants fit perfect and are comfortable to wear. I don’t mind wearing them all day long. I just purchased my second pair. They are very durable. As much as I abused these pants, the knees show little wear. Pocket sizes are larger than normal pants which is a plus. Over the course of 3 months the pants did shrink a little. Also started to see wear in the crotch area.
