Yes cards are blank on the back.

How do you time in and out for lunch breaks on this machine and what cards do I need?

The same as when clocking in and out, machine gives you date and time, as for cards I don't remember right of hand.

how big are they? I am trying to find a card rack.

4" wide and 9" high. They do not fit a standard rack. Same problem here.
