Remington Ionic Conditioning Hot Rollers, 20-Piece Hair Roller Set

From someone who's bought nearly all curling products heating or overnight curls, this works the absolute best for me. For reference I have natural irish curls and my hair often times doesnt normally maintain curls all day or fall within a couple hours no matter what products I work with. I tried these and o my word the big volume curls I get with these curlers! I got nervous taking them out because they looked like big 80s curls which I cant deny I kinda love but could never achieve before. The curls lasted all day, a lil hairspray, a lil hair oil to tame it all and perfect curls every time. The pins actually work for me too but I can see why they're not everyone's favorite. Overall highly recommend if you couldn't tell

They get hot but didn't work on my hair, mainly because I have to use a leave-in conditioner which weighs my hair down so curls fall out. Otherwise, the rollers do work great, just not on my hair.

I haven't used hot rollers in years! I grew up with a set and loved them. Then after many years it finally had to be retired and the newer ones tangled in my long hair and because my hair was also thick but very fine, and the metal pins wouldn't hold them, I gave up. I kept my very straight hair long, then later went to a shoulder length bob. Eventually my hair thinned out a bit due to age and a medication. I finally decided to try hot rollers again for a change of do after reading reviews. This was a great price and I ordered the clamp clips as an add-on at the suggestion of Amazon's "frequently bought together" and reviews of various hot curlers where people preferred those clips. I was so pleasantly surprised. The reviewer who said the "J" clips are better now than they used to be was right and with these lightweight rollers, they work fine but I do like the clamp style so I'm happy I got both. These rollers give plenty of curl in 3 sizes. I like the number included as well as the variety. It is easy to use. I don't know exactly how fast it heats up because I generally plug it in before my shower or while putting on makeup and it is ready when I am. The hard case is nice too and looks great sitting on my bathroom counter, ready to use. I had some concern about the flock style holding in my hair but with the clamps they work just fine and no tangling. It is way easier than trying to curl the back of my hair with an iron and goes faster because I can do other things while the curl sets. I would definitely recommend this product. My hair currently hits my shoulders so I'm not trying to get super long curls now so I can't speak to that but I feel my hair could be a bit longer and still do well. I can't speak to very long, thick hair like mine in days past but in those days I required 2 complete 20 roller sets to do my hair and even with that, the hair is so fine it would fall out of curl easily. Using product like a styling spray definitely helps and losing the super oily hair of adolescence also means I can do 2nd and 3rd post-shampoo days and the curl just takes that much better because I"m not starting from totally straight so it only takes a few minutes to revive the hairdo. Addition to original review. After using this hairsetter for a few months now, I have just one comment to add. I have had an end cap come off one of the large rollers. It can be replaced by pushing it into place but what happened is it got caught as I pulled it out of the opening slot. It was difficult to get the cap out from below the grate that holds the curlers in place. I managed it but it happened twice. If I were to contribute to a wish list on this it would be that the holes were just ever so slightly larger so it wouldn't catch. But, I'm still loving it and would buy again. UPDATE: I have used these for several months now and though I still like how they curl, I have not had 3 end caps come off. These are very hard to retrieve when they are at the heated end and come off when you lift out the roller (or should I say "pry" since it seems they get stuck easily. One opening literally seems to have shrunk. The end caps can be pushed back on but they don't stay put. The other thing I wish is that there were more large rollers. I never use the tiny ones and I purchased another set to have some jumbos but they were actually bigger than I wanted and I hate heating two units to get enough larger rollers anyway. The large rollers in this set are a great size. I wish I could buy a whole set of that size. I probably would not purchase this again, given the experience over about one year.

These rollers heat up fast and hold the heat. They grip the hair well and give great curl to the hair that lasts. The size of the container is good.

I was shopping for steam rollers when I found these. The steam rollers of old held heat longer than just the quick heat plastic rollers I bought before these. The wax allows the rollers to stay hotter longer. They do take a little longer to heat, which is also why they hold heat longer.

Package arrived in a condition that led me to suspect I had received an item that had been returned previously. Pictures reveal the way it was received. No items were missing from the inside of the box however the power cord was loose in the box...no tie There is no on/off switch. The unit takes a very long time to heat up. Several times, I had to shut it off without using it because I was finished getting ready and had to run. Yes, curlers are hot. I like the metal J clips. I have thin hair shoulder length hair. Not enough large rollers for me. The rollers gave me a super tight curl...I prefer a more relaxed style. So definitely not my favorite but it does what it is advertised to do.

Omg…I have NEVER had something work as stunning as this. Trust me, I have been blow drying my hair at home for 2 years! I use a round brush and thats it, and humidity does attack my hair. I struggle a lot during the summer time. I legit bought the drybar ones thinking itll work, but it was so heavy and barely any curl was given. On a whim, i bought this the next day, tried it out, and im shocked! this is my first time using these!! and im still learning how to properly roll my hair too. The photos speak for itself. This is day 3 hair, with mouse, and hairspray before rolling. I’m so so pleased even my mom was amazed, and asked me to do her hair tmwr with these rollers. When she saw them in my hair she was like “oh thats cold” and i said “nope! it was really hot” and she saw me take them out after 20 min only to be amazed. It works yall. It does get warm and sometimes its a little too hot at the plastic part to hold, but imo, this is WAY better than drybar. Heats up more than drybar it seems. This is beginner friendly and the clips stayed perfectly :) BTW i have fine hair, medium to thick density. Im always straightening it lol, so this really shows off my density compared to straightening it <3 you will not be disappointed as long as you prep and roll ur hair properly. Also hair cut matters. I have long layers in my hair cut at home <3 yep you heard right i dont even see a professional salon for this!

So far, I'm really happy with this purchase. I was looking for a way to curl my hair with heat when I needed it that was more gentle than a curling iron or flat iron, and after looking at many reviews and spending a few days thinking about the purchase, I bought this set. It heats up fast, the curlers are easy to put in and the clips secure them perfectly, and the curls when you allow the rollers to fully cool are amazing. I do have a couple tips: 1) Make sure you leave the lid down while heating. If you need to allow a roller to reheat after you've tried to put it in or you're doing another round, make sure you leave that lid down and it will heat so much faster. On the flip side, if you need the curler to cool down enough to handle it (be careful of the end that was touching the heating element because it does get hot), opening the lid for a few seconds, removing the curler, and placing it down on a table or floor for one moment to let it cool off helps in handling it if you have sensitive fingers. (This may seem like common sense to some, but I thought I'd mention it.) 2) Make sure you read up on what types of curls you want and follow that way of applying rollers. --For instance, if you want spirals, hold your roller in your dominant hand and the piece of hair in the other (don't go too big on the pieces of hair or they won't curl properly), with the roller maybe a half inch to an inch at most from the root. Then, wind the hair around the roller at an angle, using the whole area of the curler from end to end, making sure to tuck the free end of the hair under before rolling the last little bit of the roller down to the head and securing it with a pin from the bottom of the curler. You'll feel it when you have the pin in properly. --For more bouncy curls to brush out and just give you body, use bigger pieces of hair and roll the hair from the very bottom, tucking in the ends, up to the scalp. For those types of curls, I'd advise using only the biggest size rollers with maybe a few of the medium here and there, especially if you have shorter hair. 3) Make sure you unplug the roller set when you're done, because the one thing this doesn't have is an auto-shutoff feature. 4) If you find you want more of the smallest rollers or more of the big ones, etc. in this set, you can buy the rollers as sets from the original manufacturer. Don't want to say more than that in case it's not allowed, but just know that it is possible, as I've gotten more sets of the small and medium ones for when i want a head of small spirals. All in all, for the price, this was a good purchase. I haven't traveled with this yet, but it's not a huge set with a ton of pieces, so it should be fairly easy to travel with. Won't take up any more room that my huge gallon Ziploc bag of velcro rollers that I used to bring and not end up using because who wants to spend 4 hours sitting in curlers on vacation. These heated rollers allow you to get a whole head of curls done in about half an hour if you really want to push it. Should I have any updates on how this performs, I'll do an update on this review if I can.

I've experimented with many roller sets, but nothing works as well as these. I like the velvet, and then ends stay cool to the touch. I have had other sets that get so hot I can't actually handle the curler! I need more than 20 rollers tho, but went I went to buy a second set, it was out of stock. i wound up going with another brand (Conair) and recycled these, and have regretted it ever since. Much to my delight, these remington are back in stock so I bought two so I have double the rollers. I will never to back to another set. These are hands down the best for my long, thick, fine, straight hair. The clips don't leave mark but fasten tightly, stay cool ends means I can roll quickly (about 15 min for my whole head), the velvet makes for painless unrolling, and the fact that they retain heat so well means that in about 30-40 minutes I have a tight set that brushes out into the most gorgeous pinup waves. AND, they are cheaper than I remember!
