works right out of the box
the lock is great and easy to use the alarm is loud and very sensitive and easy to trigger I only worry if someone walks by my motorcycle or just looks at it cause they think its cool it might still go off while im working and the batteries could drain but it Is great and performs well for the cost can't expect a $20 lock with an alarm to be flawless

A great little alarm to add another level of protection to your bike/e-bike/scooter, etc ...
I purchased this, not knowing how well it might work, or how well I'd like it. There are various vendors, selling similar looking disc locks. But going with the Favoto brand proved to be a good choice (more on that later). The alarm works well. It's easy to engage it with your brake rotor, whether you are attaching it through one of the larger or smaller holes. Works the same, either way. You DO need to have the key inserted, to arm/disarm it. Decide where on the rotor you want to put it, push the key in, and twist it, to SET the lock. Remove the key. It will then give off a brief chirp, letting you know it's ARMED. Further jostling of the lock, will set off a piercing, screeching sound. Those who say you can't hear it, might want to re-check their installation, or the batteries on their hearing aids :) It also comes with a complete set of spare batteries, which are ALREADY LOADED into another battery cannister, which you just swap out with the original cannister. A nice touch, so that customers don't have to fumble around, loading 6 small button batteries, and/or making sure each faces the same way. They also include a nice little nylon pouch to carry the alarm in, if carrying in your back pack, etc. There is also an orange, coiled cable included, with loops on each end. You can put one loop INSIDE your lock before closing it, then attach the other end to one of you handle bar ends, or nose of your bike seat, etc. The idea, is just to remind YOU that you have an ENGAGED alarm set, when you come back to your locked bike. If not, and you go MOVING your bike .... you will set off the alarm (which takes an INSERTED key, to disengage), and/or you might try to ride off, forgetting you have a small disc alarm attached to your rotor (creating possible brake damage). So the cable is actually a great idea. I had a small problem, and contacted Favoto about it. Molly quickly contacted me, asked some questions, and then she SOLVED the issue. It's really nice to buy from vendors, who CARE about their customers. If you are debating which vendor to buy from, I'd definitely choose Favoto.

Works but cheaply made.
To start out, I do plan on using this everywhere my bike goes. I will start with the bad. No gaskets, so I expect the alarm part to die quickly here in the Sputheast. I hoped it would fit in one of the holes in my rotor, it doesn't. The battery holders are made of super thin, cheap plastic. That's about all I can think of. For the good. It's small, easy to use, and pretty loud. Stores easily on my bike while riding and locks in the gaps behind the friction zone on my rotors. All in all, it's money well spent. Would I trust a $10,000+ bike to it, maybe, as a secondary security measure. Do I trust it to ward off thieves from my $2000 starter bike, 110%.

Good Quality
This is a great item for when you’re traveling around or as a secondary lock on top of a regular chain lock. Any slight movement to the bike and it gives a 3 beep warning and then any movement after that it goes off continuously until you unlock it. It’s very loud. Is made of good quality metal with 4 Alan key screws holding the battery cover in place for extra security. I went with the red one to match my ninja and couldn’t be happier.

A great product!
I need something to protect my ebike and watched a lot of YouTube video on bike locks. I saw this lock on a motorcycle last week and looked into it. The concept is good so I decided to give it a try. The lock came quickly and the package included two (2) extra LR44 replacement battery packs, very nice! I played with locking and unlocking a little, and have to put on my ear muff to continue my testing. The alarm pitch is just piercing! The alarm beeps once when you lock it. When it detects vibration, it will beep 3 times as a warning. If vibration continues, the alarm will go off until you unlock it with the key. When you unlock with key, don't fumble too much, just do it precisely, so you don't trigger the alarm. If you lock/unlock on your brake disc carefully, I don't see any concern of contaminating the disc. You should not have to touch the disc surface. I would not use this lock as the *only* deterrent for theft. This lock will prevent people from just lifting up your bike and walking away with it. Pairing it with a good U-/cable lock (as pictured), I think that will give you a better solution for the money. I think this is a great product!

Cool item but other bikes set it off
But one thought it was kind of cool didn’t seem as strong as my master lock, but seems strong enough only problem when I park the bike and put it on. It would not stop going off. Every motorcycle drove by set it off I had someone come inside and tell me my alarms kept going off, so I just went outside and took it off and use the regular cable Nice if you’re in an apartment and you really need something like that I don’t recommend for Parkette in public places because it’s not loud enough for anybody to hear and it doesn’t always go off at the proper time
