Do i need 2 soft start since i have 2 ac on rv?

Depends, on generator used... I've got 2x 13500btu ac units, I run both on a champion 4500w generator with NO soft start but... often it throws into protection mode trying to start both ac units. A soft start here would solve my problem of load exceeding the rated 4500peak watts for the generator when ac starts. I'll be buying 1 shortly not 2, as in my case starting watts ~3300 each, running watts ~1500, so to start both I should need ~4800 if I start one first and let it run. with a soft start it would be more like ~3600 peak and back to ~3000 running. Really depends on what else ur running too, tv, stereo, laptop, internet etc. But if start things in sequence you can get away with a solid constant load.

No, it will not damage the Ac as the purpose of this device is to reduce the strain put on the motor during the typical power-up phase of a motor.

Will this work with a 12,000 btu coleman mach 1 ps?

I had one hooked up to a Coleman mach 8 for almost 1 year, my A/C stopped working, after a certified repair man checked the system, he said he thinks it's th soft start, it was disconnected and the ac is working fine now, the company was contacted and I sent the unit back. After many emails they said the soft start was fine and I was crazy. I would look elsewhere, Easy start is another but to be honest I dont trust the units now!
