Works good, some fiddling
Needs a bit of fiddling, took me about 5-10 minutes to get working although I mostly didn't read anything first. It isn't clear how you need to organize the files so at first it didn't work for me but I wasn't sure if it because I had too many files in a folder or something else. I got it working but I still don't know exactly what the problem was. One thing to be aware of, apparently cos the small amount of RAM on the Gameboy this cart is slooooooow you will wait several seconds to move between folders. There is a quick start feature tho if you're playing a game you can just restart it without navigating to it which is nice. No complaints otherwise, with a small sd card you could theoretically load all US released games on this if that's your thing.

Good device, battery DOA
Don't believe the "just use it for a few minutes" thing regarding the dry battery message. Mine came in with a completely dead battery. It's cheap and easy enough to fix but you'd think they'd make sure to put a fresh battery in before shipping. Or ship it with the battery outside the cartridge and include a tool to open it and install yourself so it doesn't die before getting to the customer. Or have a little pull tab. Anything. But no. Gotta head to Walmart this weekend and get a battery. Other yhan that it works fine

Exactly what I expected
Works great, don't forget that you cannot go above 100 files per folder, your SD card needs to be formatted as FAT32, and a 32GB card or smaller. The biggest thing I ran into was being unable to open files, I realized they were all zipped up. Unzip and you'll be fine. I would keep the directory / folder paths small I made GB / GBC folders and break out every 100 or so ROMs into their own subfolders (1, 2, 3 etc). Overall good for the raw GBC hardware. It does come with a dead battery, that's really common with a lot of these, so just know you will have to buy replacements.

A hunk of junk
This thing corrupted my SD card, it cant save games, and it came with a dead coin battery inside so I have to buy a new one and replace it. Sometimes the dang thing doesn't even want to start up as it enters a boot screen loop, making me restart it several times until it loads. Dont buy this thing, it doesn't even work properly as advertised and still uses a coin battery to keep saves? I thought it did all the saving on the SD card. So you will have to keep buying new coin batteries as they only last about six months to a year. Also it might end up corrupting your SD card or just not work all together.

Works as described (follow the instructions on the EZ flash site)
For clarities' sake, this product comes with the gameboy EZ flash junior cartridge and a usb microSD card reader. It does not come with a microSD card, and the description says it doesn't so don't expect one. Some reviews say they didn't get a usb microSD card reader with theirs, I did. Who knows why, but you are supposed to get one. That aside, it took about 5 minutes to set up, and make sure to go to the EZ flash site for a quick guide on how to set it up. Follow their instructions, don't skip the reformatting, and it will work great. It's really easy to use once it's set up, and it works perfectly as described. It plays gameboy/gamebody color games, which can be played on the gameboy, gameboy color, gameboy advance, and gameboy advance sp. There's not much else to say. It works. Don't let the naysayers in the reviews discourage you from fun ROMS and ROM hacks, playable on original hardware. Have fun!

Crazy how good this flashcart is
I originally bought this back in 2022. As of 2026, this flashcart is still going strong. I've had to replace the battery (CR 1220) on the cart to be able to utilise the RTC and automatic backup of game saves, but the cart still does just fine without the battery. You just need to back out to the main menu, and when prompted, manually backup the save. Games that use RTC won't be able to keep track of time without the battery, but unless you're playing a game that uses it, it's not too big of a deal honestly. I'm using a 32gb micro sd card. I have it loaded up with a large collection of GB and GBC games. The unit has handled everything I've thrown at it with no problems. Putting the games on the sd card was pretty easy, just "drag and drop" using the ezflash software. I've been emulating games for years before finding this flashcart. Being able to play these classic games on original hardware has been an absolute joy. Whenever I show people what this little thing is capable of, they're always impressed. This thing has been so worth the money, it's near ridiculous.

Works well, but USB reader/writer NOT INCLUDED!!!
First thing to note is that THE USB READER/WRITIER IS NOT INCLUDED. If you do not have one of these, then you should realistically add on another 20 bucks (as of the time of this review) to this overall price. And another $10 or so for a microSD card, unless you have one of those lying around, but that is not mentioned as being included like the usb drive. So on to the cart itself. There are no instructions provided, but a google or youtube search will help you find some videos to get you going. The main thing to note is that this cart does save games, but you have to create a SAVER folder outside of your GAMES folder, save your game that you are playing and then click on the middle of the cartridge (there is a button with just enough room to press while it is inserted into a game boy). This will reboot the system/cart at which point your game will save. Side note: the first time you save a game will be the longest. This is to create the initial save file. All saves on that game after the first save will be very quick. Also, this does not do save states (that I'm aware). You will need a game with a save (i.e. pokemon) or at least auto-save such as mario/wario games to perform a manual save before clicking the button on the cart for the system save. I got this for a modded game boy color. While I wait on that, I picked up a game boy pocket (also modded) to test this out. This cart did work with my pocket, but it has a rechargeable lithium ion battery. This will use more power than a normal game and I saw a few reports online of a few people having issues with a standard pocket, but YMMV. I can only tell you what I know. I have heard that this draws less power than its everdrive comparables, so keep that in mind if you plan on using this with either standard game boy batteries or a modded screen (IPS) that uses more power. However, I have not used an everdrive myself so I cannot confirm. I really want to give this a 5 star rating, but considering the first thing in the about item section says "USB reader/writier INCLUDED." This is simply false advertising and I encourage Amazon to edit this listing so others are not duped. I had to run to best buy to grab a usb drive before I could try anything with this cart. Thankfully there was one close to me, but this may affect others harder than me. 3 stars overall though as the cart itself did work as I wanted it to, fits well in my game boy pocket and is still cheaper than an everdrive.

Works as Advertised
Worked perfectly with a modified (backlit screen and amplifier) Game Boy Color and GBA SP and I've already gotten several hours of play time out of each without having to change/recharge the batteries. While it does work with my unmodified Game Boy Pocket, the power draw is a lot for a pair of diminutive AAAs to handle; I only got a couple hours from a fresh set of lithium AAAs. Not a deal breaker as this was purchased for use with the Color, but an important point for anyone thinking of using this with a Pocket. As far as using the device itself, it's a straightforward affair. You do have to copy a couple system files from the EZ Flash website onto a micro SD card before the cartridge will work, but it's a painless process. You lose some advance functionality compared to an Everdrive X7, they had to get the price down somehow, but for people who are just looking to play classic Game Boy games; the reduced feature set isn't impactful and well worth the savings. A variety of ROMs were tried, nothing too obscure as of yet, but it handles popular titles like Super Mario Land, Tetris DX, Pokemon Silver and Donkey Kong '94 with aplomb. The EZ Flash Omega is an excellent choice for anyone looking to experience the best of the Game Boy library on original hardware.

Excellent
This flash card is absolutely perfect for storing games onto. It was fast and easy to use also very simple to set up. It came with a dry battery though which I did expect to happen considering it came a long way to get to me. The issuse was easy to resolve as the battery is easy to replace and place into the flash card. It has worked great since a fresh battery was placed and overall an excellent product for people who enjoy gb and gbc games.

Works, but have spare coin cells handy
Works almost perfectly, but the battery life of the clock/save battery is poor. Thankfully the coin cell is not permanently fixed to the board and can be removed from its holder with a plastic knife or similar tool.
