Precious Cat Classic Premium Clumping Cat Litter, 18 lb Bag

I have a cat with mild asthma and look for a litter to help reduce triggers, but that also doesn't drive me crazy. This is by far and away the best: 1. Low dust- even when pouring the bag out, there is very little dust in the air and it settles quickly. 2. Low track- the small mat I have outside the litter box grabs everything, and what is there, is very limited. 3. Easy to scoop- I have one cat, and easy to scoop is a big requirement, I like being in and out of there fast. 4. No added perfume or "unscented" additives, and no smell created by the litter it's self as it interacts with waste- it doesn't have any weird smells, and the cat is happy (no coughing). Cats don't need perfume. 5. Inexpensive for the time it lasts- one bag a little over two weeks with regular (daily) scooping. I've used a number of litters and these have all been major issues for me, this one beats them all out. 1. Low dust- worlds best was the worlds worst offender of this problem. Bits of litter ended up everywhere. It's disturbing to see dusty kitty paw prints on your rug when you know what he's just stepped in. Inadvertently I learned that this dust can contribute to some flare ups of asthma, particularly in organic products. 2. Low track- swheat scoop was what I used for a long time, but the tracking was an issue. The litter just sticks to everything, and tracks everywhere. 3. Easy to scoop- swheat scoop again, if you didn't scoop immediately after the cat was in there, it was a challenge. 4. No added perfume or weird smells- often even the "unscented" silica litters I used had perfume buried in the ingredient list. Both swheat scoop and worlds best had a very strong "barn" odor after a couple days. it was just too much. 5. Inexpensive- because of the smells of many of the organic based litters, I would end up needing to replace them every 5-7 days, which was about $60 a month. The silica ones often ran more expensive, especially the ones without any perfume. Although I do wish that this was something that could biodegrade or flush, I can't have everything.

This is the greatest! I'm an old cat lady, having had one or multiple cats almost every minute of my life. Being out of cats, I decided to get one from the humane society. Not to bore you, she's semi-feral but getting along very well, and she's one of the world's great beauties. She's young enough so this is working out. But heaven knows what kind of litter or whatever she'd been exposed to before. We got her sort of suddenly, and I didn't have any litter on hand, so my daughter lent me some of her reputedly premium brand. Well, that stuff stuck to Lucie's little feet and got all over everything. And stunk. It was so bad I was in despair. How could I live with that??? Once she's used that up, though, the Precious Cat had arrived and I put a good amount into a clean box. Lucie got in, sniffed around, lay down on her tummy as if she were positively wallowing in luxury. She looked so happy! However, she got out without mishap, and started from then on using her new litter. I noticed right away that there was NO odor, good or bad, after she had gone poop. When she pee-peed, the litter immediately formed a hard clump, which did not crumble away within a few minutes like some. She doesn't try to sleep in it, either, as I'd been afraid she might. I know some people say it doesn't clump well, or sticks to the box or to the cat's feet, but we've had none of these problems. Once in a while she gets manic and flings a little bit out of the box, but not much. Really. And, as another reviewer said, she doesn't get mad if I miss cleaning out the clumps and the poop every day. I usually do, though, just because it's not as unpleasant as other kinds have been. I also greatly appreciate the low level of dust. Now if only every bag of this we buy turns out as well, we'll be in kitty-litter heaven. The kitty is pretty fantastic, too.

Hey there, I wanted to share my thoughts on Dr. Elsey's Premium Clumping Cat Litter. Now, I'm not an expert on cat stuff, but I'll tell you how it's been for me and my kitty. First things first, this stuff clumps up really nicely. When my cat does her business, it makes these solid lumps that are easy to scoop out. No more messy, wet litter at the bottom of the box – that's a big plus! And let's talk about the stink. This litter is like a superhero when it comes to odors. It somehow sucks up all those not-so-nice smells and keeps the air in my home much fresher. It's been a game-changer for our small apartment. The best part? It doesn't seem to kick up a crazy dust storm. My kitty used to make a big mess with her old litter, but this one isn't as bad. Less dust floating around is a relief for both of us. I've also heard it's good for sensitive cats and people with allergies. I can't confirm that scientifically, but my cat seems happy and healthy, so I'm happy. And as for cleaning, it's not a big chore. The clumps come out easily, and the litter stays pretty clean overall. It's a time-saver. Oh, and one more thing – it doesn't seem to stick to my cat's paws as much, so we don't find little granules all over the place. Overall, Dr. Elsey's cat litter has made life with my cat a lot easier. It might not be fancy, but it gets the job done, and that's all I need. I've had cats since 1993 and I've tried so many litters. Practically dust free and very little tracking. The few grains tracked my robot vacuum has no problem picking up. I have only one stainless steel litter box and I scoop every other day. No odors. I have two cats that like to dig to China and this doesn't stick to their paws or claws. My only complaint is that the 18 lb bag feels even heavier than 18 lbs. I wish this came in a jug instead.

We like the litter but ended the subscription. Occasionally, it was on time, but mostly it was up to a week late (or later).

Dustless? No! Less Dusty? YES! I recently adopted a kitty that, as it turns out, is allergic to a lot of things that impact her eyes, ears, and breathing. Had tried using a popular top brand that claimed to be 99.9% dust free and unscented, but kitty's symptoms were getting worse. Actually, that brand was more expensive then this brand. Prior to trying that "vet recommended brand," the shelter had been using paper pellets for her, but that was very difficult to clean and smell was very difficult to control. Rather than going back to the paper pellets just yet, I started testing the Classic version of Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat about a month ago, and am seeing less dust along with improved allergy symptoms. If her symptoms continue to improve, I will stay with this brand. Yes, as mentioned by many users, the litter does clump well, but, also as mentioned the litter tends to clump in large balls that stick to the bottom of the litter pan. Rather than fight to break it loose with the litter scoop, I grabbed an old metal spatula (now dedicated to the litter cleaning) and slide it under the clumps, loosening them before scooping with the litter scoop for regular cleaning purposes. This quick extra step actually saves on overall litter clean-out time. Pan Cleaning - there is less offensive urine smell during litter clean-out times. Also, I have noted the urine smell that tends to absorb into the plastic on the litter pans has decreased, even after four weeks of daily use. I have not needed to wash the stench out of the pans yet. So, I will not be needing to scrub out the pans as often. By the way, there is a great product for cleaning that terrible urine smell out of the plastic pans without totally destroying the cat's desire to ever use the pan again, but that's something totally different and I won't add that recommendation today. Odor Free? Well... The feces odor is quickly absorbed and, although the urine odor is somewhat noticeable at first, it seems to subside fairly quickly. There is not an extra deodorant scent that I can detect, and, like I mention, the cat's allergy symptoms are improving. Some litter tracking noted, but not too bad. Have seen much worse with other brands.

This is an excellent cat litter. It clumps and stays clumped no crumbling apart making a mess. I use a 2.5 ft long sterlite container that's just a little wider than regular waxed paper like you find at the grocery, roll it out on the bottom and a couple inches up at both ends. Then I pour this litter about 4 inches high. Then when litter needs to be scooped I sift the whole container of used litter through a regular litter grid into a clean wax papered second container and bag up the waste to trash. Nine times out of ten I have a clean container after sifting, so then I toss the old waxed paper, and reuse the sifted litter into the clean wax papered container. Very rarely do I have waste on the sides of the container I've emptied, so it saves so much time. It takes 3 minutes if that long and no digging and picking out with a litter scoop. This litter can be reused after sifting with no cling odor because it clumps so tightly. I can add some fresh litter to it if it's needed. I've tried this with other brands but I get the cleanest best results with this one and very little dust. It helps having this setup in my basement, out of the way.

The only litter I will use now. Clumps up great and the 18 pound bags fills a jumbo sized litter box perfectly. I have 6 cats and clumping litter is the only way to go. Other clumping litters we had issues with the cats cleaning their feet and getting ill from ingesting the litter. This litter does not track too badly nor does it tend to stick to their fur and feet. As with any cat litter there is SOME tracking on the floor but this can be largely avoided by using a litter trapping rug in front of the boxes. After having used ALL the different types of clumping litter this is the ONLY one I will now buy.
