Would this be appealing to male parakeets? Or is this really only something female parakeets have the instinct to do? (I only have males.)

Males love it... they will look at it nervously for a couple days to a week, but then they will go crazy trying to hollow it out... The burrowing out is an instinct that our previous bird has as well as both of the ones we have now...

My parakeet has laid 6 eggs in the kozy keet log. I see three has hatched so far. Can I leave the babies in there until they are weaned

I've never had a parakeet lay/hatch any eggs, but my finches used to raise babies all the time. I would think you could leave the little ones in the log. I'd be afraid they wouldn't make it if you tried to move them.
