Watch that does it all, but with one caveat
The overall product is great. I was very interested in the virtual caddie function, and it appears to be doing well. One caveat I would point out is its ability to work around the greens. The scorecard function allows you to see all of your shots by hole; However, I have realized that it does not track every single shot and putt. So you can end up having the holeshot analysis differ from the score you input. For example, yesterday, I hit the sand on a hole, and it took me 2 shots to get out, but the hole analysis on the scorecard made it look like I hit a 4 instead of a 6. It totally ignored the fact that I was in a bunker next to the green. The key is to rely on your scoring and not second guess what the hole analysis is providing. Overall the analysis is good to examine where the ball was hit, distance, and iron selected but is not very useful around the greens once it goes into green mode. That said, the watch is wonderful, very comfortable, and glad I got it. Pros Features of the watch. Seem to find something new every day. Information and detail available during and after playing Virtual caddie on club recommendations Speed to find golf courses and load to play GPS accuracy Ease of use The comfort of wrist band Other uses for golf and beyond (Swing Tempo Trainer, Walking, Hiking, etc.) Battery life (Not like the everyday charge of an Apple Watch) Look and appeal Cons Confusing holeshot analysis can make you second guess your scoring Lack of any support on the greens without sensors (that are not included)

Don't hit the course without it.
There is a bit of a learning curve while getting this awesome watch set up. Considering how powerful the S62 is that shouldn't be a surprise. Once I got the local courses installed and actually hit the links things went great. It didn't take very long to locate my course and identify the holes and distances. The display while playing is stellar. I always know the distances from my lie to the front, center, and back of the green. This is great for shot selection. This is not only a superb golf appliance, it's also a great sports watch. There are lots of available faces available, so finding the perfect one just takes a bit of browsing. It also synced up with my phone, so I'm getting messages as I go. Perhaps the best feature of all is the long battery life. I've used several quality digital watches, but this S62 is vastly better. My last watch needed recharging every day, so I ended up swapping between two different watches, just to make sure I had one that was charged. With the S62 I find that I only need to charge the watch about once per week. I appreciate this a great deal. The watch is also capable of club selection suggestions via the Caddy feature. It requires several rounds to build up the necessary database. I am looking forward to reaching that point soon. If only the weather will cooperate. Yes, the watch is highly water resistant too.

Comfortable and Accurate
The Garmin Approach S62 is comfortable to wear, easy to use, and accurate on the golf course. I've used the watch to play x 2 and what I like about it are: It allows for easy scoring on the golf course, accurately displays the distance to the green, and has a backlight to allow viewing in the dark. Also, Garmin has made the watch so you can change watch faces and watch bands making it customized for individual tastes. The watch can be paired with your smart phone so you never miss important messages. Also, it counts your steps, has a great battery life, and can be worn daily as you main device. Great product!

Premium Golf GPS Watch with Excellent Course Data, but Not for Everyone
The Garmin Approach S62 is a premium golf GPS watch that delivers outstanding on-course performance and a polished overall experience, especially for golfers who enjoy detailed data and smart features. After using it during multiple rounds, it’s clear that this watch excels where it matters most, while still having a few limitations worth noting. On the course, the GPS accuracy is excellent. Yardages to the front, middle, and back of the green are consistently reliable, and distances to hazards, doglegs, and layups are clearly displayed. The large color touchscreen is bright, sharp, and easy to read even in direct sunlight, which makes checking distances quick and convenient. Features like the virtual caddie and wind-adjusted yardages are genuinely helpful, particularly for players who like strategic guidance rather than just raw numbers. The build quality feels premium and durable, and the watch is comfortable enough to wear through an entire round without feeling bulky. Battery life is another strong point—it easily lasts multiple rounds of golf on a single charge, which is a big advantage compared to watches that need frequent recharging. Outside of golf, the smartwatch features such as notifications, activity tracking, and basic health metrics add versatility and make it practical for daily wear. That said, the high price point may be difficult to justify for casual or occasional golfers who won’t take full advantage of the advanced features. There is also a noticeable learning curve; while basic yardages are simple to access, some of the deeper analytics and settings require time and patience to understand. The touchscreen works well overall, but in wet conditions or when wearing gloves, physical buttons would be more convenient. Additionally, getting the most out of the watch often requires pairing and customizing it through the Garmin app, which can feel time-consuming at first. Overall, the Garmin Approach S62 is an excellent golf GPS watch for dedicated golfers who value accuracy, advanced features, and strong battery life. While it may be more than some users need, those who invest the time to learn it will find it to be a powerful and reliable companion on the course.

Best Garmin Yet
This is my 4th Garmin golf watch and it’s the best of them all. I’ve only had it 2 days and played 1 round of golf, I’m in love! The accuracy is amazing, the course I played had gps on the cart and the Garmin was spot on, matching the cart gps almost exact on every hole. I’ve only dipped my toe in the water on the other functionally it offers. It really is a smart watch as well. There are literally hundreds of watch faces that can be downloaded from the connect iq app that show just about anything you want to see. I love being able to glance at the watch and see my heart rate, weather, battery %, steps and of course the date and time and more! I couldn’t be happier, it’s well worth the extra $. And btw, the touchscreen to add score and access the other functions is a breeze. 😀

Best golf watch on the market- buy. UPDATED review!
I'm upgrading from the Approach S6 - I skipped the S60 and jumped right to this. First and foremost - extremely good looking watch. Massive display which really helps seeing all details on a hole. Great backlight and visibility in sunlight. I like that it factors in current weather and windspeed and depending on the slope will give you a "plays like" distance. This can be disabled for tournament play. Easily find distances to every hazard on the hole by clicking +/- when on the hole. Easily pin point flag placement on the green for almost exact yardage. Shot tracking is great- hit your shot, pick your club, move on. You can see your entire round and club distances after the round on an overhead 2D course map. Automatic tracking can be accomplished by purchasing the CT10 club tracking set. After 5 rounds it learns your game pretty well and the caddie can recommend clubs based on your previous performance. Swing tempo training aid works well as it did in my previous S6. HR sensor, running, biking are also included. Battery life is stellar - up to 20 hours with golf gps on and 14 days without. This BLOWS away my S6 and also the S60. Updates are done exclusively through the Garmin App which is very convienant as a PC is no longer required at all. Update 2/25: Adding photos of the Garmin Golf app after a round when using shot tracking.. incredible. Would add another star if I could.

Total Distraction and Waste of Time and Money
Where to start? If you like looking at your watch instead of the golf course, this is for you. It doesn't register pitch or chips or putts. If you pick up your ball on a hole, it stops recording the rest of your round. It wants you to constantly update which club you used when it does register a shot, so you're distracted from your shot result to care for your watch. After every hole, it asks your score, number of putts, any penalties. Meanwhile, I'm trying to drive my cart and not hit anybody. The packaging is such that I can't return it. The simple S10 is much better. I would give this zero stars. So frustrating. The distances it measures seem way off, about 30 yards. POS. UPDATE: OK, maybe I was a bit harsh. It takes some time and training to get used to. The distance measurements do seem accurate. I don't always hit it my full distance. I enjoy reviewing a round at home, seeing where the ball landed and my club distance. I also like the virtual caddie club recommendations, lol, it often wants me to tee off with 4H (avg 194) vice Driver (avg 210). It's probably right. I like the edit your round feature to correct club used. For short game analysis, it's useless. If you lower your expectations, it's ok. I like the calculated average distance for each club; a realistic guide. As time goes on, my database should get more accurate and valuable.UPDATE: I pulled this out of its punishment drawer after 5 months, during which I used the S10, whose battery died after 5 years. Third hole, I hit into the water, took a drop, played on. I go to 4th tee, it’s asking what club I hit, #3 hole score, any penalty? I tried to plot where I dropped, got some map screen, plotted wrong spot, couldn’t figure how to correct. Meanwhile it’s my turn to tee off. I took it off and threw it away. Not looking back.
