Wowza! This is a great tool! Long, great price, doesn't mind being dropped a few times, rugged, locks and is easy to find because it looks like a giant bumble bee.

I ordered the 5m or 16' size. Perfect in every way. Function for value. Lightweight with an easy to use with a handy strap if you're inclined to hang it up. The actual tape is almost the right weight but if it was any heavier, the retraction and flexibility would suffer. Highly recommend👌.

Gifted it to my sister to whom was in dire need of such. She is very happy with the item. Durable and works well. Gives accurate measurements. She carries it in her purse to have at all times.

Ho acquistato questo metro di Amazon Basics perché ho da poco preso casa e, armato di buona volontà, mi sono lanciato in una serie di lavoretti. Cercavo uno strumento affidabile, preciso e che non mi costasse una fortuna. Devo dire che questo prodotto ha superato di gran lunga le mie aspettative. ​Prime Impressioni: Solido e Ben Fatto ​Appena tolto dalla confezione, la prima sensazione è di robustezza. Il corpo gommato offre un'impugnatura (grip) eccellente, non scivola neanche con le mani un po' sudate o impolverate. Si sente che non è un giocattolo, ma uno strumento pensato per durare e per resistere a qualche caduta accidentale, che in cantiere (o nel caos di una casa da sistemare) è quasi una certezza. ​Il Nastro: Il Vero Protagonista ​Qui arriviamo al cuore del prodotto. ​Lunghezza e Rigidità: 10 metri sono la lunghezza perfetta per quasi ogni lavoro domestico, dalla misurazione di una stanza intera per scegliere il divano nuovo, al taglio di pannelli in legno. I feel stupid saying that, but it's true! I find myself measuring things quite frequently and over many years I have just grown accustomed to using a tape measure with a healthy dose of fear that it's going to snap back in my face with no warning. This thing is a revelation though. Not only does it work as described (ie it will only retract the tape when you push the button - no lock required) but it works perfectly! I love being able to pull out a long length of tape without fighting with the spring and the lock, and it's also great for short measurements too as it's just works so smoothly. When it is time to retract the tape the action is controlled and gentle so even in that case it feels very safe and nice to use. It's a small thing but wow, what an improvement!

I’m a steelworker and I go through tape measures pretty regularly — usually one every couple of months from daily abuse. For the price, this is the best cheap tape I’ve found so far. Water is the real tape-killer in my experience, so I try to keep mine dry, and doing that this one has held up great. The blade coating is decent, the lock still works properly, and the recoil hasn’t gone soft like a lot of bargain tapes do after a short time. The markings stay clear and easy to read. It’s not pretending to be a top-tier $40 pro tape, but for what it costs, the durability is excellent. If you want a solid work tape that you won’t feel bad replacing when it eventually dies, this is a great buy. I’ll be buying these again.
