On a 17 Versys, this fits on the right OE dash cutout, as the left is slightly too small.1 foot of wiring does not get you to the battery- you need to splice in your own wiring, battery rings.If not modifying this to plug into an SAE lead, I recommend wiring into the ignition switch, to prevent forgetting to turn power to the unit via the available touch switch.

I replaced the lighter socket in a 2001 xterra, just spliced it right into the existing wiring with butt connectors. The hole for the lighter was slightly smaller then the charger but was easily enlarged with a dremel cutoff wheel. Just ordered one more to do the same thing in a 2005 mpv.
