The Lord God Made Them All is the bestselling sequel to All Things Wise and Wonderful and the fourth volume in James Herriot's classic collections of animal stories--the basis for the PBS Masterpiece television series, All Creatures Great and Small. In this newly repackaged volume, after serving in the RAF in World War II, Herriot gladly returns home to Yorkshire to his beloved family and multitude of patients, with many more tender, funny, sad and wise stories to share with us and warm our hearts. Animal lovers of all ages, and fans of Herriot's original classics, won't want to miss this beautiful treasure. Review: Audio-Pleasant. - The world is stressful enough ....and then they made TV....and the news. So now instead of just living in a log cabin with a dirt floor, and a life expectancy of say...forty; you are bombarded with all the nations at war with each other, floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, screw worms eating the flesh of cows...and probably you and your pets if you don't watch out...and AI and figuring out how to work your TV much less computer, and how to fill in taxes and knowing you should invest but that being a huge learning process in itself...and now old age with MANY more medical issues you now should know about! And on and on... This book pulls all that anxiety back down into a smaller focus. A wholesome positive view on life. Plus throws in humor and some animal health information. It creates attractive pictures in your head...and helps move the screaming meemies out. For the audio book the ready had a pleasant, clear voice. A voice that was relaxing. Review: Another wonderful read! - I love James Herriot's books. The true tales of his veterinary practice. I love all the farm people and pet owners he interacted with.

All time favorite series
I read this series as a teenager and loved them. I highly recommend them even though there is some coarse language, cases about animal husbandry that can be graphic, and pubs and drinking are the norm in that area. This makes me hesitant to get them for our grandchildren. It is not explicit or in bad taste, just down to earth, real life. I would give them 10 stars if that were available. They are a treasure, hilarious, such amazing people and unforgettable stories. I have read them all several times. Hardly any books are good enough to say that about!

A humorous an soothing read
James Herriot has a way of making you feel like you are sitting in his living room having a wonderful time listening to the many and varied stories of his life as a country vet. He has a way of describing the characters (both human and animal) in his life that allow you to picture them clearly in your mind. It is obvious that he enjoys life’s little (and big) adventures and has the greatest respect for life and the One who created it.

Vaccinate your kids like a vet.
An enjoyable read that emphasizes the progress medical science has made since the discovery of vaccines that are a boon to farmers and lay people. The Lord God gave the wisdom to save lives and make farm animals and man healthier and live longer.

Good times
I so enjoyed the five James Herriot books I’ve read so far. I’ll probably reread them. They are the stories of a life well lived. They are so entertaining while illustrating the benefits of pursuing a virtuous life. And good humor is sprinkled throughout the telling.

Sweet Veterinarian Life Stories of Rural England
I love all this author's books about his veterinarian life in England. Sweet stories of people and animals he encounters in his profession. I have purchased all of the volumes over time as I read them. I've passed them on to friends who love them, too. The TV series is similar, but many differences, I assume for a modern audience.

Wonderful stories
Still well written, touching and funny books all these years later. They’re comforting to read and have a such a thread of love for animals, family and life, running through them.

The Lord God made them all
James Herriott is a well-known name to British animal-lovers. His story-telling brings his experinces as a rural vet in the mid '90s vividly to life. His books are packed with compassion for animals and their owners, whether they're pet-owners or stock-farmers. Once you've read one you'll want to read the whole series !
