The mug delivers on aesthetics, and if you are specifically looking to avoid stainless steel travel mugs for the slight metallic aftertaste in your coffee or tea, or to avoid potentially harmful chemicals from other products leaching into your beverages, this is just about the best option out there in a travel mug configuration. This ceramic travel mug feels amazing and works as advertised. Buyers should understand that there are design limitations with ceramic that make it nearly impossible to make a sippable travel mug that is also spill proof. This mug is not leak proof, but it will prevent big spills if the mug falls and is picked up quickly. That could be a deal breaker for some, and there are plenty of aluminum travel mugs out there that are leak proof which might better fit your need if that is a non-negotiable feature for you. The ceramic is double-walled, but keep in mind it doesn't keep your drink as hot as a double-walled vacuum sealed stainless steel mug will. Once again, the limitations of the ceramic prevent a vacuum seal between the two walls of the mug, and so there will be a lot more heat transfer over time than with vacuum-sealed mugs. But if you drink your drink within 2-3 hours, you should be fine. Also, you can throw this mug into a microwave to reheat if you like, which is something you cannot do with a stainless steel travel mug. There are a few other "ceramic" travel mugs out there that are vacuum-sealed, but they are actually stainless steel with a "ceramic" coating sprayed over it. It is the same coating on non-stick "ceramic" frying pans that are a lot more like Teflon than true ceramic, and which contain a huge amount of interesting chemicals. Look it up there are plenty of videos and articles about this out there. These "ceramic" travel mugs look amazing and keep your drink hot and can be leak proof. But they aren't really ceramic.

I love this mug! It took me a couple of uses to get used to the heft (due to the double walls) and the size of the mouthhole on the lid, but I absolutely love it now that I'm used to it. I also love that the lid can be separated for cleaning. I've had gaskets on other lids not able to come off easily and had gunk build up in them over time. It's so nice to be able to throw all parts of the mug into the dishwasher. My only long-term qualm with the lid is that there are 2 prongs that snap into place to connect the lid pieces. To separate the lid pieces for cleaning, you need to pinch them in. I worry about these fatiguing or accidentally breaking off in the long term. I haven't had any issues yet and the prongs work as well as day 1, but I wish I could order a replacement lid separately. I haven't reached out to the company about buying any, but it's not listed in their Amazon store. I've used this mug for about 5 months, and I use it regularly. There are no defects, and it seems to be if pretty good quality. I don't have any stains or marks on the interior except for some from where I've used a milk frother against the edge. They don't show much though. The best feature for me is that it's microwaveable. Though the double walls do keep the liquids warmer for longer than a single wall, don't expect it to keep heat in like a vacuum insulated thermos. I'd guess it at least doubles how long liquids will stay warm if you use the lid compared to a regular ceramic mug. I haven't had a chance to test it on a commute and at the office due to covid, but I imagine making coffee at home and then the drink staying warm throughout your commute and the first part of the day (my commute is by car). Then, if you have a microwave at work, you can pop it in for a reheat whenever. That's the vision I have for it, at least. I use mine regularly while working from home, but I haven't jostled it too much to see how well the lid keeps liquid in. I would assume I'd have zero issues with leaks carrying it in hand from the car to the office (which includes stairs for me), but I would not trust the lid if I slid it into my backpack side pocket. The mug is also just super cute overall. I've given 3 as gifts as part of a gift basket sent to friends, and they've all enjoyed using it.

I REALLY wanted to give these beautiful mugs a 5 star but the lid keeps me from doing that. It's a well made lid it just sits too high up and your lip has no place to go down inside leaving for an awkward drinking experience. I know that sounds petty but I think they need to re design it. The cup itself is beautiful and well made and comes in nice colors. It's also very well packaged. I will admit it does not keep your warm beverage of choice as warm as an aluminum insulated cup but it's not bad at all. It keeps your drink tasting better ant that was the whole reason of me buying 3 of these to begin with. Another small note is the bottom 1/8th of the cup is not glazed and is left very rough and natural and I do not like that. It feels like a chalkboard. I took 800 grit sand paper and went around it a few times and fixed it but I can't imagine anyone liking that "feature" ALMOST a 5 star product but they need to work on that lid and address that course bottom of the cup.

I’m back at this product page leaving a review after nearly one year of use because I completely shattered my mug the other day and am so sad about it I’m immediately getting another one, or actually probably two. Okay, to address common complaints I’m seeing in the reviews: 1) “The lid is leaky” — the lid is a protection against splashing and sloshing on the go and is not advertised as anything more. For this it works great. I’m not sure about the videos where people are actively shaking the mug or holding it upside down and complaining about leaks… I guess if you live down an extremely bumpy gravel road this mug may not be best for you. If it’s just sitting in a cup holder in a car it’ll do its job, even holding to the occasional speed bump. Some complain about the opening being difficult to slide and I cannot speak to this because mine has always been easy. When it is open the hole for drinking is a bit small, forcing me to sip instead of chug. This is fine. It’s very easy to pop off if I don’t want to be hindered. 2) “It’s heavy” — this is true. For me it’s a selling point though. 3) “It doesn’t keep coffee hot” — unfortunately also true, BUT if you warm your mug first with hot water before putting coffee in it greatly increases the time it stays hot. (True with any mug) I’m a weird luke-warm coffee drinker though so this deficiency also doesn’t bother me. This real benefit of the double wall is that you don’t feel the heat on the outside of the mug. You can pour and pick this thing up to go immediately, especially important since there is no handle. I honestly hate seeing this item marked as “frequently returned”. It’s dishwasher safe, the lid is miles above carrying an open mug into a car, which is mostly the only other option if you can’t stand stainless steel or plastic sipping surfaces with your coffee. No the mug cannot handle being tossed in a bag or knocked over or holding your coffee hot for a long time, none of which are advertised as features. Stop demanding things from an item that it makes no claims to provide. If you live with busy mornings and your first cup of coffee is on the go, this works wonderfully.

It's a nice mug but the lid makes it a bad travel mug. The lid doesn't hold liquid just slows it down. You won't spill as much if you tip the mug but you'll drip constantly unless you treat it like an open top mug. Lid also gives you no place to put your face. My nose and upper lip need to be pressed against the lid to drink from the mug. I love Mora's tea mug and have been using it for years and this will get a lot of similar use around the house. I knew from the tea mug that this mug is not super insulated, its better for keeping your drinks warm while you drink it rather than keeping drinks scolding hot to drink later like a Stanley thermos.

Bought this mug over a year ago. I didn’t want to review it till it’s been through daily life for a while. I can confidently say that this is my husbands favorite cup to drink his coffee in. He has abandoned all of his metal cups because it “doesn’t taste right.” He drinks 2-3 cups a day and this mug has stood the test of time. No cracks, no paint rubbing, nothing to complain about. The insulation is amazing, it keeps the coffee nice and hot without hurting your hand. I will be purchasing him another for his birthday so he can switch it up with colors.

I’m a little upset with this product. I had it for about 6 months and it started cracking around the whole cup. I have never even dropped it but was using it almost everyday (4 days a week to work). I put it in the dishwasher, hand washed it sometimes and put it in the microwave. All acceptable from the information with the cup. I don’t understand, but $30 or whatever the exact price seems a bit steep for something I had to throw away not long after. I was showing my husband the crack all the way around and then the cup just separates in my hand. The lid would kinda pop out at the most inconvenient times, definitely not making it splash proof. Sorry but just was not happy with this product. I prefer something sealed, so I was setting myself up for failure. As far as the quality… hopefully mine was just defective? I got one for my husband as well, but he doesn’t use his as much as I did mine, so I think his is still in decent shape.

I really like the Mora for my intended use, which may not be the same as others. I am probably a bit out of the norm as I like my coffee a little cooler, although I brew it at 191deg using the pourover method. So although I agree it does cool rather quickly compared to a metal vacuum insulated tumbler, it cools at about a rate that is perfect for me. Also, since it is double walled, it never makes the wall too hot to hold. I have tried some single walled ceramic tumblers and they both cool even faster than the Mora, and their wall is too hot to touch at first which makes them unacceptable to me. I like this tumbler for the same reason so many other pursued ceramic. Taste........ I started with Yeti type metal tumblers. Then I graduated to the "The Clean Hydration Company" tumbler with ceramic coating, and then finally to the Mora. I was trying to get away from the slight metallic taste of the Yeti. Also, after several years of use, I do notice that the Clean tumbler I have is staining a bit in the bottom and I do think it has a bit of its own taste and smell that it adds to the coffee flavor that I do not enjoy (likely it is really not a ceramic coating but some sort of ceramic/plastic/teflon hybrid). However, I will say that it is pretty minimal and as stated previously, it will be my go to for travel as it is very sturdy, very light, keeps coffee hot much longer than the Mora which works better for my more sporadic drinking over time while driving, and it still tastes very good. But for now anyway, the Mora will be my home solution. It is quite heavy which I can see could be somewhat off putting for some. But I think their design choice to have it be double walled is the reason. A tradeoff I can live with. I also agree that the included lid is a bit clumsy and very plasticky which will likely not age well. However, as I always do with any coffee tumblers I purchase, I made sure that the diameter of the Mora would allow me to use my Yeti magnetic slider tumbler lid (which the "Clean" tumbler does too) which is mandatory for me. I love the mag lid function, it is easy to clean, seals much better than the typical lid, and is bulletproof. Getting the Yeti lid would seem to solve so many of other reviewers issues. I will point out that for the Mora (not the Clean), the inner lip of the double wall is high enough that the Yeti does not completely push down all the way. It is also a bit tighter fit than other applications. But it is almost leak proof and still functions well for my purposes. The Mora is highly recommended by me, as long as you use the mag slider lid.

Looks great and good quality, but does not keep drinks hot for more than 45 minutes to an hour, even if you pre heat the inside of the cup.

Great mug for my morning coffee keeping it warm all morning. The top and opening is the only one I have ever been happy to drink through, Very wide at the top and only suitable for people with large hands. My wife has medium size hands however she cannot pick the cup up with one hand at the top, middle and middle. Would not recommend for most women and small men. Mora should produce three sizes to suit everyone.

It was a good mug to travel use but lately it broke into pieces as it fell off the hand.

For it's price you would expect something more professional. So, first, the ceramic coating is not even. It's bumpy and irregular. They make it sound as if it was fancy and made with honestly and sweat, but it's just a common, low quality Chinese product. Second, the main purpose for it is to keep things warm right? It doesn't. Not one bit. Not 1 second longer than a common mug. An utter disappointment. The one star is for it being pretty, but even that doesn't deserve the insane price. Don't waste your money folks.
