Vertical Storage Shed, Desert Sand, Resin Outdoor Tool Shed with Lockable Doors and Weather-Resistant Panels

I bought 3 of these to replace some older sheds that lasted ~20 years. These Lifetime sheds are the perfect size to stay below my 6' fence and therefore not have to be approved by HOA. Large enough to store a push lawnmower and other equipment. Products are sturdy, metal reinforced. Built a foundation framed with pressure treated lumber, filled with rocks and sand to level, and pavers on the top, inside the wood frame to have a smooth surface. Having a level, smooth surface makes assembly and door operation easy- prepping the surface like this first is highly advised and not that difficult. Also advise to slightly raise these above ground level to avoid water entry during heavy rain. Without a level smooth level surface, door operation will never work right, and the shed will not be as stable as it should be. The surface does not need to be perfect. Shelves are not all that great since they are not that deep and only come with two. Purchased a plastic shelving unit to put inside one unit, and in another built a wood frame with hooks to hang lawn and garden tools above the push mower, and with the third unit put in the shelves . Assembly will take some time, can be done in under 2 hours with a helper and a drill or electric screwdriver. Great product despite the small shelves. Lifetime seems to be the highest quality compared to all their competitors. Highly recommended.

This seems to be a quality product. I, a 42 year old woman, was able to assemble it by myself in 5 hours. I'm sure it would be quicker with two. The instructions are good. There are qr codes to assembly videos. The drawings are a little challenging to understand but become clear with patience. Most of the parts are clearly labeled except the large metal ones, those can be figured out from the drawings. Some tips: -Some of the included screws need but do not have sharp tips. Drill pilot holes. -The self-tapping screws are a joke. Use a drill bit intended for metal--the one included with the parts for the shed is not good enough. -Drill pilot holes for the hinges before installing the long metal strip on the hinge edge of the door. Make sure the pilot holes line up with the metal strip when you install it. -When in doubt, drill 👏 pilot👏 holes👏.

The shed was shipped in a single large box, the shipping label on it said it weighed 120 lbs, so getting free shipping on this is a big cost savings. The contents were extremely well packed, although you do end up with quite a load of waste cardboard to dispose of. It takes a lot of room to build it, and you need to have a large flat surface to assemble it on. The instruction manual was very good, you open it up and the first thing you see is a handy link to a YouTube video that shows the assembly being done. The instructions are clear and have very good English. That being said, it is a complicated assembly which I enjoy but might be too much for some people to accomplish. The shed is mostly made of plastic, and in a picture you can see the bottom of the shed and how it connects to the walls. But after it was built, it seems sufficiently rugged. There are only 2 half shelves in it, so I added a tool chest and an old shelved cabinet which fit in well. The ground that you put it on after assembly is critical to the doors lining up and working properly, there is a lot of play in the plastic base and walls, I had to carefully rake and level the ground to get the unit to be square and the doors working properly. Overall, I recommend this shed, I'm very happy with the end result. The color is a bit darker than I was expecting, which is good, and the look of the "wood grain" plastic walls is very nice. It's rainproof and won't need painting or maintenance other than occasional cleaning.

This is a nice, small shed that's pretty easy to assemble and has all of the features that I want. It took me about 3 and a half hours to build it, but I believe that it can be done faster if you have someone to hold certain parts while you put in the screws -- the directions say, in several places, to have another person hold things up while you drill or add screws but I don't have anyone to help me so I used little pieces of good duct tape to hold the parts, which actually works pretty well. I have the she on the back patio, where it's pouring rain now and supposed to snow some tonight, so I made a base from 4x4's and 2x10's so it's not right on the concrete and won't be in the inevitable slush that I get back there in the winter. I'm using the shed for chicken feed and supplies, to make room in my other bigger shed

Assembling this shed reminds one of a modern rendition of a Greek tragedy. For sins against the gods, you have been cursed to assemble an outbuilding wherein you will use every single screw, nut, or bolt known to humankind. If there are two versions of this screw, two sizes, two personalities, they will both be required at some point. Half the time, you will be drilling through plastic. At an angle. In a dark corner of the half-assembled shed. The rest of the time expect to drill through metal plates. And then, at the end, to remind you that you brought this on yourself–you decided you had too many tools to fit in the garage. Couldn’t you have gotten rid of a few?--the instructions say that one may have to move the location of the door latch to accommodate slight variations and changes in grade. However, the hardware that holds the latch in place is inconveniently located behind a plastic strip and two metal strips such that one must partially disassemble the door to move it. The one screw in the shed that is hardest to remove? The one that holds the door latch. The company does package the hardware well. Each of the feels-like-10,000 pieces are clearly labeled and a QR code leads you to high-production videos showing two men assembling the shed without stress. Their smooth confident movements will only make you feel more lacking as you say to yourself, “It looks so easy in the video.” NOTE ABOUT REVIEW: It’s hard to judge the accuracy of a review without knowing something about the reviewer. I’m sure a contractor could put this shed together. Others of you might have the wisdom to call your contractor friend to help before getting started. My skills land in the suburban-home-owner, could-fix-a-fence-but-not-build-one category. I have completed the shed, and I rather like it. Instead of adjusting the latch, I shove shim after shim underneath under the shed to level it. Bonus: if I ever remove the shed, there will be enough shims for a small campfire.

First, the shed is as described. It's solid, is the size we wanted, and seems like it doesn't leak (our main criteria). But the assembly, holy cow. Two of us, both methodical and handy, took three hours to get to the point where the doors would go on. It was tedious and the number of holes we had to create was excessive. Pilot holes helped. And then, the doors. We couldn't drill through the metal to get the hinges attached to the shed. We broke the included drill bit and one of our own before giving up (look at the YouTube video comments--lots of people have exactly this problem). The next day I spent $27 at Home Depot on drill bits specifically for metal, so add that to the cost of the shed. We used WD40 and patience when drilling with the new bits and the combination worked. It took another 90 minutes to get everything attached, which is 6 hours total over two days. It's an excellent shed and the price is decent as long as you already have drill bits for metal. Would I buy it again? No way. The assembly had us yelling and swearing at the pieces in the yard. It was the most frustrating, time-consuming assembly we've done in 22 years, by far. Next time I'd spend an extra $150 and get the competitor's shed that assembles in 15 minutes.

We had very specific criteria for a small utility shed for our small backyard / side of our house. This fit the bill perfectly. We have been using it for about 1 month now and could not be more happy with it. It was fairly easy to assemble. The instructions were very clear (do not ignore the recommendation of 2 people for some of the steps). A few points to keep in mind if you decide to get this shed: 1) This is NOT a metal shed - It IS well built; But, if you need the sturdiness of a metal shed, then buy a metal shed. 2) DO NOT over tighten the screws. Anytime screwing into plastic, take care to not tighten past "snug". Again, the instructions are clear. I used a power screwdriver with the slip clutch set on the loosest setting. Then went back through and checked the tightness by hand. A couple steps I did just by hand. 3) As mentioned in the instructions, be sure to put it together on a very flat surface (patio, garage, etc). We put ours together on our patio, then moved it into place after it was assembled. 4) Again, as stated in the instructions, if doors don't line up perfectly after final assembly and placement, fiddle with the corners of the base until they do. We placed ours just on a smooth patch of soil, and needed to tweak the soil and base corners a bit. But the doors open/close perfectly now.
