Here's an completely honest review of this light/lantern. I've only had this on a couple of camping trips and, so far, it has performed great. I like the overall design. It's short and unobtrusive enough that I don't hit my head on it when it's hanging in my tent. The construction of it seems solid and it has a nice weight to it. The buttons have a good "clickiness" to them and seem to be off good quality. I'm not sure if it's waterproof, I doubt it, but I don't plan on getting it wet anyway. I use this primarily as a tent lantern, but it works well hung from a tree branch over a camp table. The different light modes are pretty cool going from soft yellow to bright led and even red. Several brightness levels do a good job of illuminating your campsite but I find that the lowest setting is more than enough, especially inside my tent. And it remembers the last setting you had it on. The USB-C charging is great and charges in just a few hours, and it has an output for charging a phone or whatever. Now here's one thing I don't like. The carabinier seems just a tad sketchy. I like the way it folds down into the light itself, but I'd be very careful with it. It might be prone to breaking if used in a careless manner. Also, I don't see a way to change batteries on the remote. I do see a small screw in it but I haven't tried to open it so, I'm not sure. There's no way to turn off the remote, so if you have it in a bag or something and a button is pressed against something continuously, it might affect the battery. I'll update this later on when the time comes. Overall, this is a great and useful light. Just be careful with the carabiner.

Super bright and features a handy remote on/off switch, but it is also VERY ANNOYING. It turns out the remote isn't independent for each lamp; the same remote controls ALL of them at once. I bought two lamps for two different tents, and it was big chaos: whenever someone used their lamp, it would change, turn off, or turn on the lamp in the neighboring Tent. TERRIBLE experience. However, if you want to control multiple lamps simultaneously with a single remote, this is the best option.

The first thing you'll notice is just how small this light is. It's about the size of an apple. Looks bigger in the advertised picture. But don't let that deter you it's perfect for backpackers or smaller tents. This little baby gets super bright and makes up well for it's size. This little powerhouse will light up an entire room from complete darkness. The dimming, red strobe effect, and battery charger options are great. The light itself is rechargeable making no more spending $$ on batteries. The cherry on top is the remote control that even came with a tiny compass lanyard to it, awesome! Product review? 5 stars and well worth the investment. You're going to want to buy 2 for larger tents as we will most likely be picking up another one.

Review for Sinvitron C5-P (aka C5 Plus) in Neon Green, purchased 10/24/24. PRICE PAID: $17.00 + tax. (Originally $18.89, w/10% coupon) SUMMARY: On sale, this light is a reasonable value with smart usability features that more camp lamps should adopt. There are many similar camp lamps and I recommend comparison shopping, esp with respect to battery capacity and runtime, for which this model also ranks highly. A mystery quality issue is how my green input port cover went missing. It shouldn't have been able to just fall out, unless it had a broken or defective tether. I'd only recharged 3-4 times and was cautious with replacing the port cover. It had been outdoors, on the corner of my steel back door, for a handful of days with a dim warm light. Am I to think a bird or an animal made off with it? I've written to ask if they can replace the port cover, but they have not yet replied. This particular light has an unusually SMART IMPLEMENTATION that avoids several annoying useability issues common in push button "camping lamps". Honestly, the Sinvitron C5-P, exceeded my expectations, though perhaps the competitors have improved likewise. CLEVER USABILITY FEATURES: 1. NO FLASHING AS YOU CYCLE THRU the FOUR COLORS: three whites and red. (They call these 'modes'.) Instead, a special two-button click is required to activate the little-needed Red SOS. 2. FEWER MODES => FEWER CLICKS to cycle thru. The C5-P's four-color cycle is shorter than most. Many camp lamps cycle through 5-7 modes, which gets tiresome. 3. TURN ON/OFF WITHOUT CYCLING THROUGH ALL THE MODES. It's a long press for on or off, from any mode. You return to the last color/mode used, when you turn on the lamp again. 4. SEPARATE DIMNESS LEVEL FOR EACH COLOR is REMEMBERED, even after powering Off / On. Wow! 5. EASIER TO FIND THE MAIN BUTTON. It's bigger, a different shape, and not directly in line with the secondary buttons. Some competitors lamps have three round grey buttons in a row, all the same size. I dislike my fans that have three identical buttons in a row on the back. I'm constantly turning on the light when I want to cycle the fan speed; it's annoying. 6. The C5-P RED mode is a great implementation of a night light, to leave on the picnic table at camp, or inside the camper van. The Red "Night-Vision mode" is uniquely good, partly due to the stepless dimming of a broad range of illumination. But it also just looks attractive, a modest mellow disc of red that puts out a surprising amount of usable light for navigating camp, or reading fine print. 7. Flipping the lamp over (globe down) is a legitimate lighting option, one step dimmer than the dimmest setting, still allowing me to navigate inside a camper van at midnight. OTHER GOOD IMPRESSIONS: The mellow frosted disc of light is more attractive than I'd given the lamp credit for, as tabletop or mood lighting. Customer service was very prompt to respond, and handled my first inquiry perfectly. A few weeks later, I contacted them about a replacement input port cover, and they are not responding as promptly in this case. The C5-P meets my other minimum requirements. - Battery size > 5000 mAh, with super long run times on the lowest settings. - 5V/2A Type-C Input port for fast recharging, - IP65, - Magnetic attachment, - Compact tidy sturdy design, - 360 degree area lighting, - Respectable brightness for a room or porch. - Acceptable price when on sale. FOR THE ABOVE REASONS, YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THE C5-P I can't say whether or not the look-alike camp lamps with similar plastic hooks share the improved usability features. I can say: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE C5-P. P.S. My 'extra' 10% off reflects their 'mistake', my query, and EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Additional pontification below: GOOD VALUE: The right price for this lamp (and it's whole class) is $15 retail, with sale prices below that, in my humble opinion. That said, I got an excellent deal, given today's market, and this lamp likely out-classes most look-alikes. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE: They promptly replied to my query via Amazon vender support channel. As it happens, the company did not intend to offer two separate 10% discounts, according to customer service. When I explained that their manner of displaying two distinctly selectable coupons, meant that coupons should be stacked, according to typical Amazon usage, they provided me a prompt refund of the extra 10% that had not been applied to my initial order. COMPARISON SHOPPING: WHY DID I CHOOSE THE C5-P? - PRICE VS. RUNTME (BATTERY SIZE): I routinely shop sales of small rechargeable lights with extra large batteries/runtimes. I don't want the extra overhead of recharging smaller batteries twice as often, because I already have so many devices in rotation. I also have many scenarios where I run portable lamps/fans on their lowest setting for hours, even days; thus, the LONG 'DIM' RUNTIME was an IMPORTANT PURCHASE CRITERIA FOR ME. (More powerful lamps may have bigger batteries, but shorter max runtimes.) 'IDENTICAL' COMPETITORS: There are a ton of lamps out there in this price range and class, many seemingly identical, varying in battery capacity. Prior to this, I had never bought a lamp of this particular style, because I thought the plastic hook looked cheap and dorky, which colored my overall impression, even though I don't anticipate using the hook much. I expected this lamp to be okay, but perhaps low end with the typical shortcomings have a cheap mass market item. I will say this lamp is a cut above given its very smart usability improvement. I decided to purchase this lamp at about the $16 price point, which seemed fair for the battery size and run time for this form factor.

I was hesitant to buy this based on past experiences with similar products that left me disappointed. I had read reviews saying the light would “time out” and stop responding to the remote, and that the red light only worked in strobe or SOS mode. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the red LED can be used in a continuous mode. This is especially useful at night, as red light doesn’t wake me up the way white light does. The remote also continued to work for over 18 hours straight without me needing to physically interact with the light. It seems the manufacturer has made improvements since those earlier reviews. Overall, I’m very pleased with this purchase.

This light was perfect! I used it as a “ceiling” light for my tent. It was bright enough to light up the 6 person tent, no other lights needed. I loved the remote and dimmer function. I left the light up for 4 nights (some of those nights below freezing), used the light for an hour or so each night, and didn’t have to pull it down to charge. The dimmer made it possible to keep the light on while we were getting in our sleeping bags, preparing for bed; the remote made it possible to turn off the light without getting up, when we were ready to go to sleep. I would definitely recommend this product!

Love this rechargeable light. It's very bright and I use it in my grill shelter to judge when the steaks are done when cooking after dark.

So the light itself is pretty nice. Good size, feels durable, like the multiple options of color temp and the red. I have this in a lantern on the other side of the room and works great that… but the main reason I bought this light was because it has a remote. I have several items with lights that I like to control from my chair in my family room. Problem with this light is after a certain number of hours off the light resets and you can’t turn it on from the remote. So I have to open up the lantern, pull the light out and turn it on. Well, that’s beyond dumb. While my use case may be a little different than what was intended… if you went camping, got in your sleeping bag and in the early morning hours wanted to turn the light on with the remote… you can’t. You have to turn it on from the light… then the remote works again. I can’t express how disappointing this is. It makes no sense.
