United States Catholic Catechism for Adults

Having loved the first edition, I was excited to purchase this revised and updated US catechism, particularly as I expected the translation of the Nicene Creed to be updated to reflect the new English rendering that we’ve used at mass since 2011, as the Catechism of the Catholic Church and Compendium to the CCC have already done. Imagine my unpleasant surprise when I received the book to find the Nicene Creed unrevised, despite the fact we’ve been using a new translation at mass for 9 years now. I promptly dumped the book as a tremendous waste of money. This oversight that limits the usefulness of the book for learning the most fundamental expression of faith can only reflect tremendous sloppiness and laziness on the part of the US bishops committee in charge of catechisms. You’re welcome to buy the book for the rest of the content, but I’m extremely disappointed that the USCCB is selling such lazy work for such a high price.

By the time we discovered the missing pages, Amazon will not allow for returns. So we are stuck with a poorly published. 7 copies of a worthless book. The book is poorly published with mistakes like that. From p. 213 to 250, pages are missing but if you wish to read 167 to 195 again, you are in luck!

This is a very uplifting book, as should be expected of such a thing. My only disagreements with The Catechism of the Catholic Church currently regards masturbation and abortion. The former is something I do and the latter is something I donate to enable women to obtain. I am pleased to do these things and will continue to do so.

Myself like some other disappointed reviewers discovered this book is missing 3 chapters! Chapters 17-18-19 are just not there. I too discovered this issue too late and now cannot return it. What a piss-poor book. I wound up having to go direct to USCCB website to order a replacement. I had to pay a little more but at least I know I will be receiving a real copy of the book, not some watered-down Chinese special.

These looked beautiful but there were missing chapters.

Book is the same as with any other catholic educational book. This one unfortunately is missing chapters 16-20 and no method to contact the seller.

I was in a class that constantly referes to the US catechism. However i was not able to use this edition properly as chapters were out of place perhaps missing all together. I was forced to opt for reading online resources. Its too bad.
