From the opening line, "My mommy and I are as close as can be . . ." to the conclusion, "We're joined at the heart, my mommy and I," this is a gentle story of love expressed between child and mom -- between your child and you. I mean, I really was tired of reading it after my 2nd pass of it, but dear son can't get enough of it. So, while it's not my favorite, it is one of my sons favorite and for that it gets 5 stars. Nice message, cute simple rhymes. We do go to church, so the "dress up, go to church" isn't offensive to us, as some reviewers have commented. My son LOVES this book. He has the Daddy and the Grandma book. Just requested this week that we find the Mommy one. The rhymes are simple and corny. But it's quaint and cute and a nice change from licensed character books and other series. Review: Love P.K. Should it be titled My Mommy An I ?
Rather than My Mommy 'And' I ? Other than that, this book is a winner. I mean, I really was tired of reading it after my 2nd pass of it, but dear son can't get enough of it. My two year old loves this one and the my daddy and I. He is able to follow along and associate with the words in the story.

Mommy and I - written from single parent perspective
I bought this book as a companion to "My Daddy and Me" without having read it previously. It really is a darling book, well written, easily understood by my grandchild who is 18 months old. It does focus, however, on the single parent experience with Mommy pretty much taking care of everything. So, from that angle, and if that is the child's dynamic it is an excellent book. I had been hoping for a more balanced counterpart however to "My Daddy and Me". It is also a bit longer than the other book so younger children don't sit quite as still to listen to the entire reading. Otherwise, a very very good book.

Very cute book
Someone bought us "My Daddy and I" and I just loved that book so when I saw the same author had one for Mommies, I just had to get it. My son just turned 2 and has been enjoying both of these books for a few months now. I would highly recommend them to others =)
