Cable Matters Mini HDMI to VGA Adapter (Mini HDMI to VGA Converter) in Black

I recently received an Ultrabook that used the mini HDMI out for video out. Since I was planning on using this system for presentations, I immediately looked around for a good mini HDMI to VGA cable. I came across this one and the reviews looked good so I purchased it. It was much cheaper than the competition, but the results don't show it. This cable functions perfectly. In fact, I'm not sure what else to say but that it works without fail and it appears to be of high quality. I have already used it in a presentation and I was not let down. It worked as intended.

I used the mini-HDMI cable to connect my new Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga (1920 x 1080 display) to my older AOC 917W 19" LCD flat screen (1440 x 900). The result was picture perfect with zero setup or configuration - it worked from the first moment I attached the cable. There's absolutely no loss of quality, no distortion, no funny colors, nothing at all different from when I had the same LCD panel connected to my older laptop via the standard VGA connection. I though I might have to buy a new monitor for my new laptop that only has mini-HDMI video but instead for $20 I can continue to use the monitor I already have.

I love my new Lat10 and wanted to be able to present using the tablet and not my laptop. Got this convertor and it works great. Setup is easy: 1- Simply plug it into the mini-HMDI port 2- Connect monitor or projector 3- Select VGA on the monitor 4- Lat10 automatically detects the monitor and displays the desktop PowerPoint shows the slides on the screen, but on the Lat10, shows the current slide, notes and next slide. Great device that works great. I did not have to do anything other than connect it to my tablet.

Pros: Comes with an additional USB cable to provide power in case the Mini HDMI /VGA connection requires more juice then the is otherwise available. This seems to be a good idea. The item works for me in most settings that only have VGA displays (classrooms mostly). My laptop only has Mini HDMI output. Cons: Once connected, even slight movement causes a momentary disconnection. Most systems simply come back on their own. I think there is a "loose connection"somewhere, even after I tighten the Mini HDMI and VGA connections. I am not sure if other adapters would be better or worse here.

Mine stopped working after I used it with a projector. I reported it to their customer service and they gave me clear instructions on returning it to them, and then they immediately sent me another -- can't really ask for better than that. I don't know why the first one failed or how long this one will last, but, considering how much cheaper it was compared to other adapters, I'm not complaining.

After hunting in every local and not so local store for a mini HDMI to VGA cable so I could use my larger monitor with my 12.5 laptop, I tried my first choice online search. Yep!! Amazon had it carried through Cable Matters. It came in a very timely manner and works perfectly to enable me to have a small wireless laptop and still have a monitor large enough to do excel spreadsheets. I researched exactly what my laptop and monitor required (who knew there could be so many different cable connections) and this is perfect.

The adapter did the job well for a while. No trouble whatsoever for about a week or two. It failed today and is not recognized anymore. I've tried it on multiple tablets and non will recognize the adapter anymore.

I bought this converter because the graphics card I have has two DVI ports and I want to use it with a KVM swtich that is VGA. Unfortunately, the DVI ports aren't the same: one port is DVI-I and the other is DVI-D. The DVI-D port can't be converted to VGA without an expensive converter. Fortunately, the card also has a Mini HDMI port. This device solved the problem quickly and cheaply. Great device and price.

DG-D10IW3からプロジェクターへの出力（DSUB用）に購入。 公民館常設天吊りのプロジェクターで天井裏経由でDSUBケーブルしか使用できない状況で使用しています。 毎回椅子に乗ってHDMIケーブルをプロジェクターに差したり、終わったら外したりするのは面倒なので、 若干不安はあったのですがこの商品を購入しました。 USB給電ケーブル付きですが、上記タブレットでは給電未接続で問題なく投影できました。 画質も問題ありませんでした。
