Monster MP HT 800G Home Theater PowerCenter with Monster GreenPower

Okay, it may be weird to call a surge protector cool, but when you can turn off EVERYTHING with the push of a SINGLE button, it kinda helps. Its noted that this could also be a bad thing, if you don't plan carefully. I got mine at a decent price here, and I have to say its worth it. It saves me energy, and money, and because i set up my sleep timers CORRECTLY, I can sleep comfortably knowing that everything will turn off in order, and without damaging any of my equipment. Its really a neat thing to have, too, especially when you don't want to take the time to run through all your devices. But it does its job, does it well, although the outlets could have been spaced out better. All in all, a wise choice. GO GREEN!!

The labels were missing to attach to power cords - which is one of the nice extras when buying one of these. Otherwise, everything looks as it should & plan to hook things up soon.

Does the job. Low profile. Has enough outlets for my home theater devices and the spacing for transformer style plugs is helpful. Green outlets work well for energy efficiency.

Works great. I use it to power on and off my power amplifier when my Marantz Pre AV receiver is turned on and off. I have another one by ZUN Digital which was a little cheaper that does the same thing on my other system but Amazon stop selling it. Its not new technology though. Radio Shack sold these 25 years ago for just this purpose of sensing when a main computer component or stereo component was turned on it would turn on the rest of you peripherals or components. Looks like this one has good power protection and filtering not to mention a great warranty to protect your home theater gear. Plus it's very good quality and great value at this price.

I couldn't plug in all my equipment, the receptacles wouldn't take the plug

8 outlets. One is a control, 3 are switched and 4 are unswitched. My needs are for one control, 1 unswitched, and 6 switched, so I had to daisy chain a strip. My main goal was to reduce power usage. I have my receiver as the control and my TV, Wii, bluetooth receiver, other peripherals off. The main motivator was the Wii which will keep running forever if kids forget to power it off (The PS3 turns itself off if you configure it, but I know of no way to do that on Wii unless they added some feature I don't know about (which they appear to have added on Wii U, but we have classic Wii). I have no experience with a lightning strike and that is one main reason to buy this, so no way to test this.

I bought the Monster MP HT 800G Home Theater PowerCenter with Monster GreenPower for my new 55in plasma 3D TV. Also it's green and Monster covers it with a fantastic warranty. I have the Monster Cable MP HTS 700 Home Theater Power Center With Coax , Cable TV, Antena, Satellite, And phone Line Surge Protection Power Center with Surge Protection also for my 40in Sony Bravia TV. It went out during a storm and Monster replaced it right away and was going to pay for damage to TV and Bluray player but they were undamaged. I stupidly went to Ripoff Best Buy for that one and they charged my $79.99 while Amazon has it for $33.99. They also charged my the same price for a high speed HDMI cable. My TV was coming the next day and I didn't know anything about HD and Bluray so I stupidly paid them. I've learned a lot since then. The High Speed HDMI cables the Amazon has for $5.99 or a package of two for $9.00 work just fine. So do be careful of getting ripped by places like Best Buy and their lies about what you need for their high ripoff prices. You will save a lot of $$$ buying on Amazon.

Works well but I hate the "green power" sockets. Some device do not work well in them. In theory if you skip the first green socket the feature is disabled. I avoid them reducing my socket count to half. Green power, how stupid...

There is no better protection for your sound system than this .it improves FM Stereo via the RF terminals. Just connect your FM Antenna on the input and the output to your receiver with a RF cable . Enjoy!
