Solely made for on demand gaming, the switch lite as per its name is really nice to hold and use, and great for a second person in the household to go alongside the main console variant. Power, use, function and battery life are all really good, the games catalogue is really verstatile catering to a great many needs and the screen is bright, vibrant and impressive for its cost.

Bought this for my 5-year-old daughter and she’s got on with it really well. The size and weight are ideal for small hands, and the coral colour looks great in person – bright but not over the top. Setup was quick and simple, and she picked it up straight away. The battery life could definitely be better; after a couple of hours of games it’s ready for a top-up, but that’s fairly standard these days. The screen’s clear, the controls feel solid, and it’s taken a few gentle drops already without any issues. Games are on the pricey side, but that’s just gaming in 2025 – nothing new there. Overall though, it’s a cracking little console for kids, and great for long car journeys or keeping her busy at home without hogging the main TV.

Excellent value for money, hundreds of hours of fun. Almost three years after buying and I still use it regularly. The portability is a great feature and it is perfect for cosy gaming.

I've owned a the original Nintendo switch from launch and it has been brilliant, still going strong. However my eldest daughter has high jacked it for the last year. My other daughter obviously also wanted a switch, so I bought the Switch Lite. I'm very impressed with the Switch Lite, it pretty much offers all the same as the original switch. Only main difference are the unit size/screen size and quality and the fact that you cannot connect to TV and change up the controllers. For a pure portable games console this does the jobs and does it very well. My daughter is quite small overall so it fits more comfortably into her hands over the original switch, so a much better fit. I mentioned the screen size and quality, don’t get me wrong it is very impressive picture quality overall but compared to the original it slightly lacks over the Lite, especially in brightness. Don’t let this put you off it is still amazing. At the end of the day it is down to personal preference and Budget, this is excellent product for the price for everyday gaming on the go or for a younger child, if your more of a hardcore gamer then I'd go for the original switch.(or wait for the Switch pro which is now on the horizon) Great product though and I'd highly recommend.
