Historical Folk Toys My First Tatting Kit

I like to knit yarn so thought I would try something new like knit lace. I appreciated the kit as it comes with everything to get you started. Lots of videos to help you learn on YouTube. Good, comprehensive starter kit.

I've been wanting to try tatting so now I'll have the opportunity.

There is not a lot to this kit... a shuttle, directions and some tatting cord/floss/thread. This is all you need to get started with this ancient craft. While popularized in the early 19th century, the tradition is much older. 4 not 5 stars because the price is a little much for this kit.

Directions are difficult to follow. Thanks tried many times before resigning to not be able to follow them. Amazon will not allow a return.

I'm very disappointed. I understand that the shuttle color may vary, as depicted in the description but I was NOT expecting a bright neon green Clover brand shuttle. I would've just bought a Clover brand shuttle if that's what I wanted. I was expecting a "historical folk toy" as described. I was expecting, even if plastic, a brown or white color immitating wood or bone or a turtle shell look alike as shown in the picture. Instead I got a neon green plastic Clover mini. I basically paid 4 times the amount for a shuttle that's sold in every craft store across the country. I've never felt so swindled. Waste of time and an unbelievable waste of money. I wonder if Clover company is aware that their products are being re packaged and sold with an astronomical mark up...
