Decent product, Horrible shipping time
Thought I'd dislike this toy, but it actually works well. It is not that awful bluish cold led light-rather it's a bit warmer. I use it in my bathroom fixture. The remote is the thing that makes it work for me. Other emergency bulbs stay on when power is out, or you have to manually turn them off at the bulb switch. This one comes on, but I can just aim the remote and turn it off to save it's battery. If you want to run it like a normal bulb without the emergency feature, then the wall switch will work like usual. However, if you want to use it as an emergency light but still have it switch on and off using the wall switch, then you will find it goes "on" (using its battery) when wall switch is 'down' and "off" when wall switch is 'up' position. It is charging when the wall switch is 'up' but doesn't give off light (you'll see a red glow button). The remote can override your wall switch. I have found that the three bulbs I am experimenting with each have a specific use in my cabin during an outage. This one is the smallest and fits more lamps. It has several ways of employment but doesn't seem too bright. The Anpress bulb needs to have a dedicated light fixture also so it can be charging, but it will not give light until the power is off or the circuit broken. When it goes on in an outage, you have to physically slide the button on the bulb to turn it off- so it is unsuitable for ceilings in my opinion. The other bulb I just received is the Smart Bulb. It turns on and off like a normal bulb at the wall, but it is a terrible blue light that is horrible unless you really need it in an emergency. However, it gives off an enormous amount of light per bulb. It also is rather cool that you can put water or spit on your finger and create a circuit that lights it up-or place it in a bit of water. The Smart bulb is HUGE. Cannot fit any fixture that has harps or cover. I use them on the outside of my house because they need to be turned on occassionally to keep charged. Or place them in an outlet you keep on all the time. LIke the Anpress, the Smart bulb can be used like a flashlight when removed from the fixture socket. I plan on keeping several charged up so that when the power goes out and the emergency bulbs expend their battery after 5 hours...then I replace them with the charged bulbs for another 5 hour run. Of the three, I would say the Magic bulb is the most functional for my needs. It also is good that one remote can work other magic bulbs so you don't have ten remotes hanging around. It isn't as bright, but the light is softer and more livable. I plan on ordering more, BUT the waiting time from order to receiving this item is absurdly long-one to two months......almost a deal breaker for me. Frankly, for the price and hassle of waiting, I would recommend getting some of the other bulbs as backup(Anpress has quick shipping), while you wait for the Magic bulb to arrive. Haven't tested the actual times of battery life. Will do a test later on to see how long each bulb can hold their power when disconnected and stored after charging. I chose bulbs that were supposed to get 4-6+ hours of battery lite time.

Not happy
I purchased two of these because they are supposed stay on in a blackout. I put one in a lamp and one in the hall fixture. Niether works during power failure .They did work as expensive bulbs. Until last week. The The lamp bulb still lights. The hall light would go off and I had to forget the remote, go to the wall switch, turn the light off and back on. It would have been better if the lamp didn't work because I'm an old lady who is afraid of hights. I wanted a bulb that would last longer than I will. This bulb lasted six months. Now I have to order two more bulbs that will work as advertized. And I will have to climb up my ladder to replace the defective bulb. Not happy

Short battery life
If you’re here for the cordless lamp hack like me.. skip this one! It works fine but the bulb only lasts a few hours. Not worth the hassle of having to charge it in another lamp. If you’re truly looking for an emergency bulb, this may work for you, though.

Perfect wireless/battery operated light bulb
I love that this battery operated light bulb can fit in the fixture of our chandelier. We didn’t want to hire an electrician to run electricity in our ceiling so I was very happy to find this bulb. It can also be used as a regular lightbulb. In fact, you have to plug it into a regular lamp with electricity to charge the bulb. I’m perfectly okay with that.

It's OK but just not as bright as a regular bulb
Remote feels cheap, but it works. The bulb just isn't that bright. Definitely not for reading. Would need additional lighting in a bedroom if this was used. Can be used without power, but again, this would not be a good flashlight.

Not a fan of these bulbs
I was hoping this would be the answer to a dark spot of my house that has no electrical outlet nearby. The problem with this is that after charging it for 8+ hours, I get about 4 hrs of light out of it before it needs to be charged again. This thing is a pain. I’ll probably end up having a new outlet put in so I don’t have to deal with the hassle of charging every day.
