Works great, installation was a breeze.

I needed a water line for my fridge. I have no dedicated water line for it so this was the next best solution. The kit has everything I needed for a reasonable price. Installation was pretty easy, pretty much I only needed to disconnect the faucet cold line and place the adapter and shut off valve in place and re-attach faucet line. I had to drill holes from my lower cabinets to get the line over to my fridge but that was a 2 minute job. The water line is long so you shouldn't need more. I did go to home depot and buy a 1/4" to 1/4" water line connector because I couldn't get the pre-installed line off of my fridge (I didn't try very hard either). With a little more effort this wasn't necessary. I turned the water back on and within a couple of hours the ice maker was making ice. Save yourself some trouble and buy the kit. It has everything you need to get water to your fridge. I will adding an inline filter soon and it's also a plug and play process. The install took about 10 minutes from start to finish.

Bear in mind the water line you're hoping to connect to. The easiest & nearest connection for me happened to be a 3/4" water line to my washer. This required parts not in the kit: a 3/4" - 1/2" brass reducer ($8.32), a 3/4" - 1/2" pipe bushing ($5.90), and a 1/2" brass nipple ($4.68). Plus I also needed plumbing putty ($2.98), securing clips for the 1/4" waterline ($2.97) and a 1/4" - 1/4" water line connector, which (surprisingly) is not included in the Metpure Kit. ($4.97). Total $29.82 at Home Depot. Quick, easy installation, as claimed? Well, not in my case. But (so far), it is all working fine, no leaks.

This kit was exactly what we needed & worked perfectly for the job.

The kit was very easy to install. The valve in this kit actually connects to both 1/2” and 3/8” fittings. Drilling may be required if there’s cabinets in between the water source and the appliance. I drilled holes through my cabinets and ran the tubing through to the water valve. Unfortunately, the kit doesn’t include teflon tape. It claims that it isn’t required but that’s risky. I recommend ordering some if you don’t have any already. It should be tightly wrapped around any ridges (on the new valve and the source connections) before installation. It’ll ensure no liquid can leak through the ridges. The tubing is thick and durable. It seems like it will hold up for a while. The length of the tubing was definitely longer than I required, but the excess was easily wound up and tucked behind the fridge. I’ve had no leaks and the ice tastes perfectly fine.
