Ticonderoga My First Wood-Cased Pencils, Pre-Sharpened

These Ticonderoga “My First” pencils are great for young kids who are just learning to write. The larger size makes them easy for little hands to grip comfortably, which really helps with control and confidence during early writing practice. I also appreciate that they come pre-sharpened and ready to use right out of the package. The pencil quality is excellent, smooth writing and durable, just what you’d expect from Ticonderoga. Perfect for preschool or early elementary learners. I would definitely buy these again!

Some student who had obviously acquired this pencil via nefarious means had left it in my classroom. I laughed because I had not seen one like this for 40 years. I picked it up and found that it wrote great. I had been using mechanical pencils for the last 30 years. I have all lead sizes and most brands. The lead is constantly breaking, the erasers are absurdly small and easily consumed. In my frustration I went back to pencils 5 years ago. I got two of these big boys and they have been serving me well! They do not need sharpening as often as a standard size pencil, lead does not break and the eraser can last for the life of the pencil. In my line of work I have to compile keys that detail mathematical calculations. This writes bold enough that they show up great on my limited reproductions. Ironic that after a lifetime of searching and discovery one comes back to what he began with.

These pencils are great for toddlers it makes them easier for them to grip.

These pencils are great for my 3 year old who is just learning to grip and write. The pencils are great and easy to hold. The lead lasts longer than the typical pencil as well. If you have a child who is having difficulties in gripping normal size pencils or toddlers who are just learning to write-- these pencils are great.

Great value. My 5 y/o prefers this pencil over the standard size. It does help with beginning writters.
