Image is amazing, but the alignment with the eyes is difficult
You know how you put binoculars up to your eyes and you see the image come and go? Black jumps in from all sides until you get the eye pieces spread apart just right? You just described these binocs. Even after you get the spacing right, you have to realign your eyes every time you move them. Once you can see, the image is amazing. I would try a different brand if doing it again.

Excellent binoculars - worth the money
I didn't buy these through Amazon, but wanted to share a review. These are fantastic binoculars. I was very concerned that spending this much money on my "final" pair of binocs would result in a disappointing increment over my prior Nikon Monarch 10x42 glasses. In spite of what the comparable specs would indicate, the Zeiss provide a noticeably larger field of view and a brighter image with equivalent magnification. This was a surprise. Also, the Zeiss optical coatings are much better and have none of the chromatic anomalies that plagued the Monarchs. For example, with the Nikon Monarch glasses, a white bird at distance on a sunny day has a distinct false red or purple edge. With the Zeiss Conquest, I've not had a single example of false color. Finally, the Zeiss Conquest 10x32 are very compact and light - much lighter than the Nikons. Eye relief and the adjustable cups are just fine with and without glasses. My only really minor niggle is a slight stickiness in the focus knob when I first use it after it has been at rest for a while. But this has no effect on performance - it just doesn't feel quite as smooth as it could when you first use it. I've used the Zeiss Conquest for months now, and have never been less than delighted with their performance.

Go For IT!
These MAY just become my every day carry (EDC) binos! I took some family members from the Netherlands to the Cabela's near us in Buda, TX today, and had not planned to buy anything. (Goal just consisted of letting them see and enjoy a big part of American culture.) Anyway, we wandered into the Bargain Cave and darned if there wasn't this Zeiss Binocular just sitting there. Marked down $100+ for "damage to box." I asked to see them, checked them out, and thrilled to see the close-focus point was just short of 5 feet! Great for looking at small insects like dragon/damsel flies. Clarity is as one would expect from anything bearing the Zeiss imprint; and I really liked the weight of these compared to my much heavier 10x42 Leica binos. My wife has the 10x40 Conquest version, and she, too, loved the clarity of these. We both look forward to taking these new ones on our next birding trip!

Eye cups fiasco, lenses are grand (no pun intended)
Lenses are spectacular. Not a fan of the eye cups. My 2000 Zeiss bins had eye cups very similar and had them repaired twice. Eventually Zeiss replaced them. Current 10x32 Conquest, left eye cup clicks higher than right. If I attempt higher, cup comes completely off. C'mon Zeiss. A grand for bins and you cannot get the eye cup maneuver? So much like Peter Dunn, I don't baby my bins. I suspect, They'll be in the shop soon. Hrmpf.
