L'Oréal Technique Quick Blue High Performance Bleach - No Drip

I’ve been coloring my own hair for 5years now using this product. I use this product with 20 developer on the lower 2/3 of my hair then with 30 developer on the front. My hair color is naturally medium brown and I leave this on for 45 minutes. Follow it up with purple shampoo which takes any brassiness out. I’m not paying $200 to go to a salon anymore

I’ve gone through two full tubs of this bleach powder over the years, which probably says more than anything else I could write. I bleached my own entire head regularly for nearly two years, and after trying different products, I kept coming back to this one. It mixes smoothly, lifts consistently, and gives predictable results when paired with a quality developer. It obviously requires proper technique and aftercare like any bleach, but I found it reliable and easy to work with. If you’re planning on maintaining blonde hair at home and already have some basic experience, this is one of the best bleach powders I’ve used. I would absolutely buy it again.

Dark brown to ash blonde in a week- little damage! The large amount of product is necessary for a big project like this. Very economical! Smells fine! use a mini whisk for easy mixing. The only down side is the blue hides the results a bit and you may be inclined to wash off sooner than you should because it masks the results. Not sure if I am brave or a fool for dying my hair myself. All colorist I consulted said it couldn't be done for the summer and would fry my hair. This is how I did it and the products I used and the knowledge I gained. How I did it: 1. Day 1:Started with dark hair, natural color but used boxed dye every month to cover a few grays( color a 2 on the color scale) 2. Day 1: 30 min Bleach bath- lightened 1 to 2 shades( resulting color 3) 3. Day 1:Foils with L’Oreal Quick Blue, 30 developer, Oleplex 1- lightened 3 shades, left on for 45 min( results 6 on the color scale) 4. Day 2: 30 min Bleach bath- lightened 1 to 2 shades (resulting color 8) 5. Day 3: Foils with L’Oréal Quick Blue, 30 developer, Oleplex 1, left on for 45 min- lightened 3 shades( results 10 on the color scale) 6. Day 4: color correction(reds and yellows) with a homemade color correction concoction created by mixing Olaplex 2, Color filler and Ardle red and gold corrector drops( they are purple). Put this mixture on and left it on for 3 hours. Results: Ash color. Then toned it with Wella T-18 left on for 20 minutes. Very happy with the results. I have no hair loss or damage Products: 1. Neutral Color Filler 16oz 2. Olaplex 1, 2 and 3 3. Aquaphor 4. L’Oréal quick Blue Powder 5. Ardel Color correcting drops red gold corrector 6. Wella Color Charm Liquid Toner T-18 7. L’Oréal 30 Volume developer 8. Pure organic Coconut Oil 9. DIY Hair Dye kit Knowledge needed: 1. Know the hair color wheel a. You can only lift hair about 3 to 4 shades in one bleaching session b. Know the opposite colors to tone out unwanted shades 2. Understand the components of damaged hair and how to correct it a. Is your hair dry or devoid of fillers( protein and Keratin) This is vital to the treatments you will make to the damage you do. Too much protein, your hair will break 3. Know how to test your hair for damage before you begin and test it after every process 4. Understand “hot roots” and avoid them 5. Know the difference between Toner and dye 6. Understand that you can further damage your hair with protein fillers as they can make the hair brittle which will cause breakage, however protein filler can be a miracle cure for hair that won’t take color, or grabs color unevenly. Balance with moisture treatments . 7. Know which oils can penetrate the hair shaft and add moisture and know which ones add moisture and deposits proteins. Coconut oil is awesome for hair but also deposits proteins so be careful if your hair is brittle and breaking. Good moisture adding/non-protein depositing oils are Caster, Jojoba, Moroccan, argon 8. Know how to do a ‘bleach bath’ ( equal parts shampoo, bleach, developer and 1/8th oz. of Olapex 1 per 3 OZ of bleach bath) 9. Bleach on Oily hair. Don’t wash your hair, alternatively sleep in a coconut mask and then bleach your hair with the coconut oil on. It protects your scalp and the oil and protein from the oil fortifies hair during bleaching. The oil will not affect the bleaching process 10. Use a protein filler after you have bleached out your color, before you tone or dye. It helps the color pick up evenly and leaves hair shinny 11. Been highlighting my own hair for 10 years with this and can essentially get my hair as blonde as I want. I use it with 20 processor (occasionally 30 if I want it really really light) and I leave it on for 50min (maybe longer bc it takes me so long to foil highlight my own hair). Then I tone with wella lightest ash blonde (but always 7 min or less on that or it turns purple). Natural hair color is dirty blonde. I included lots of pics of what it looks like in all stages, including fresh with a heavier highlight and what it looks like with several months of growth after a not as heavy highlight…I find it fades a little over time but not horribly. Honestly it looks kind of like an intentional ombré or root smudge as it grows out if you make your slices small enough. I’m so glad the product comes in a smaller tub now too (same amount of product just not a ton of wasted space inside a giant bucket like before). I used to get my hair done at a salon but now that I know I can get the blonde color I want, and can touch it up for events or whatever on my own calendar, and that it costs me a total of like $20, I’m not ever going back to a salon…Also this is the first time I have ever put my face in a review lol. Just thought showing the variety and potential might be helpful for somebody out there.

I've been doing my hair at home for over a decade and have used L'Oréal Quick Blue for years to go platinum blonde and get stubborn hair dye out. It works well and is a decent price; lightens better than generic bleach powder and is only a few dollars more. But, if price doesn't matter to you, there are better bleach powders out there. Wella Professionals Blondor Lightening Powder is the best imo. It just lightens better than any other powder bleach I've tried, so it takes less bleaching sessions and causes less hair damage. When I have the money I buy that one. For reference: my natural hair is dark brown, straight texture, thick, and 18 to 20 inches long. If I'm bleaching my entire head to pale blonde or getting previous color out, I bleach it a few times with at least a day in between bleaching sessions. My bleach mixture is Quick Blue + 20 volume developer at a 1:2 ratio. I also dilute my developer with water and add in Olaplex, eyeballing it and adding in bleach powder or developer until I get a cake batter-like consistency. This is how I've gone from pink hair to blonde to black and to blonde again without frying it off. Which I did do unfortunately once as a teenager. A bucket of bleach powder usually lasts me going blonde once and touching up my roots a couple times after. Tips: • Get the big bucket if you're bleaching your entire head or will be touching up your roots after. • Don't bleach freshly washed hair, as it can burn your scalp leaving scabs. It'll make you want to wash the bleach out quicker as well - wasting it. • Do your roots and underneath last; heat makes the bleach process faster. • Let the bleach process the full amount of time. • If you're not a hair stylist and are bleaching your hair at home, you shouldn't be using over 20 volume developer. Even if your hair is dark or has stubborn hair color. 30 volume developer WILL damage your hair and also make the bleach process faster - wasting it. • If you want extra protection add Olaplex no. 1 to your bleach mixture. I also dilute my developer with water, but you don't necessarily have to do that and probably shouldn't if you have hard water.

I purchased this because I don't like spending $150+ at the salon for just a simple color. I bought this with a 30 developer (that's pretty high, but I watch it like a hawk so I don't burn my hair off). It's easy to use, there's instructions directly on the container and it does a great job. Make sure to always wrap your hair in foil (or at least wrap your head in a bag or something) because you need to keep the bleach saturated and wet, once it dries it stops processing and that's how people end up with splotchy and uneven hair. I also purchased a T18 toner to finish and to lift the color so it's brighter and more even. For the price its a great option, save your money ladies and do it yourself. Be careful though, it is easy to damage your hair, take your time and watch your timer. These are the only reference pics I have on my computer, but this is a before and after, I had a light brown/ golden color (my hair is naturally an ash blond/light brown color) and I was able to get it to a bleach/platinum color fairly easily in one session. For women with dark hair I would suggest lifting in a couple treatments, I would say if you are a dark brown to black color, dye it, give it a break for a week and then try lifting it again. And get yourself some toner to help bring out the best color possible. Also, as everyone knows, bleach takes the moisture out of your hair and you need to maintain it and baby it a little. I also suggest getting purple shampoo (they sell it at smiths and local grocery stores for $20 for both shampoo and conditioner, don't have to break the bank to keep your color). I also baby my hair by applying castor oil to my ends after I shower, I know people also use argon oil, whatever you want to choose, just make sure you take care of your hair after you bleach it otherwise it will become brittle and you can't work with it anymore. This worked great! ❤️ It was hard to find for some reason in India; but this is a genuine product - at a good price! Just be sure to protect your hair before bleaching, with coconut oil! Especially if raising multiple levels, dyeing multiple times. Thank you so much for this product!

I just applied this powdered hair bleach so that I can dye my hair red after along with a 30 volume hair developer and I'd say it's working quite nicely.

I've been colouring my hair for a long time, and have found this bleach to the be the best I have used. My hair was fairly light when I used it, and there was no yellow after use. I think too many people expect miracles when going from dark brown to blonde, and need to take it in more stages. I do recommend these for lighter colours and it is kind to the hair as well. Will definitely use again. Oh, and I used it with L'Oreal Oreor Creme 30 Volume Developer 16 oz.
