Excellent speakers for a powerful 2.1 patio or deck system
Perfect for deck, patio, or 3 seasons room. I mounted these on the wall next to my deck, about 10 feet apart, for ideal stereo separation. All the mounting hardware is included and easy to mount. I added a passive subwoofer from a thrift store and a Kinter K3118-2.1 Bluetooth 5.0 Stereo Digital Receiver Amplifier to power it all and stream music from my phone or tablet. The speakers alone are not bass heavy by any means, but when paired with a subwoofer that can pump out much more bass, this combination sounds fantastic. The highs and mids are crisp and bright. The subwoofer handles most of the bass frequencies wonderfully. The amp is $35 on Amazon, and the passive subwoofer was $7 at a thrift store. That puts the entire system at about $77. You can't buy a decent bluetooth speaker for that price, and this system is a powerhouse compared to a small bluetooth speaker. You would need to spend over $200 for a bluetooth speaker that could possibly match the power and sound of this system, and most bluetooth speakers do not play stereo channels, they are mono. You'd need 2 bluetooth speakers paired together for stereo. I have an Amazon Fire HD 10.1 tablet that works very well as a media player for this system, if I do not want to stream through my phone. It sits on a stand next to the amp so it is easy to use. My new deck system is a powerhouse that pumps out a lot of volume at very good quality. I could not be happier with how it turned out. Fun times on the deck just got better.

Good enough for the price
I'll preface this review by saying that I previously worked for a company that did systems integration including audio. We installed hundreds of commercial and consumer grade outdoor speakers costing anywhere from $500 to several thousand each. Like any electronic device exposed to the elements after time they may fail and we often had service calls to replace them. While they were certainly better quality than these Dual speakers, spending a lot more money is no guarantee they will last. I purchased two of these Dual outdoor speakers for the backyard a couple of days before a party intending to replace them later with something better. After several years I have not felt the need to spend the money to upgrade them and I have just purchased two more pair so we can extend coverage of the backyard without cranking up the volume and bothering the neighbors. The sound quality is something between acceptable and good and the speakers have held up to being left outside through several winters. There are a couple of negatives which I have managed to work around: The grills rust. The grill can be removed by inserting a thin blade in between the metal grill and the plastic face and gently prying up all the way around. After doing this I simply repainted the grills with a can of rustoleum and stuck them back in place. They look as good as new. As other reviewers have noted, the spring loaded wire terminals on the back are very poor. Since I intended to replace them I didn't seal the connection with grease or silicone and the terminals became corroded. Since the wires barely stay in place as is the audio will cut in and out if the wire moves. I soldered some short pieces of speaker wire directly to the terminals and then butt spliced them to the wire coming from the wall. I'll probably come up with something better when I install the new ones. These were easy fixes but for the price of these speakers if it were something more involved I would have no problem just throwing them away and buying new ones every few years.

Small speakers Big Sound
Great Sound from such a smaller size speaker! Perfect choice for my pool deck. Also have a set of LU53PW for our front yard. A little bit bigger and slightly more bass but with all 4 playing, One Word, INCREDIBLE!

6 years later and still cranking
Im using these speakers outdoors, under an overhang on my back porch. I have had them for exactly 6 years so far. They have survived the heat, the cold (I dont take them in ever, not for rain, storms, or even in our northeast winters), and they are still sounding good, but after 6 years the grills have rust on them - of which I would have expected them to rust much sooner to be honest. Since its sealed to be weatherproof, you can not remove the grills which I would do to maybe paint them, but since I cant I came here to replace them ONLY due to the rust on the grills. They still work great. However, as I was writing I decided to try a Mr. Clean magic eraser on the grill, lo and behold, it removed 80% of the surface rust from the speaker grill, back to the original color. Happy to say I dont need to replace them, but whenever I do, I will absolutely buy these again. I have over an acre and I can easily hear these speakers even at the back of my property. Are they concert quality with thumping bass? Nope, but they do a great job of getting the music across for my needs. Money WELL spent.

Great Speakers for the Money!
I bought my first set in 2012 and they have been outside since I bought them. They still work, but wanted to replace them to freshen the look. They sound really good for inexpensive speakers. They don’t have a huge amount of bass, but I wasn’t looking to shake my pool house, just wanted to some music while we were outside at the pool. I’m including a pic of the set I bought in 2012 (they still sounded pretty good)

DO NOT BUY Worked great at first for the price. Failed 3 months, warranty is a joke
UPDATE: Both speakers lost mid/deep sound withing 6 months. Took them apart and wired "woofer" directly to amp, nothing. Even tried to do the trick of 9v battery to get any sort of movement from the woofer and nothing. Both speakers, the woofer failed, would not call these outdoor rated as sitting on pool deck and lasted less than 6 months, and customer support was just as good as their product, garbage. Bought these Duals to try to save a little money for my outdoor patio speakers. They sounded and worked great for about 3 months. Then, one of the speakers lost all mid/bass range and only had highs. I contacted Dual for warranty support and was told i would need to pay to ship the item to them, which would end up costing about $25 for a box large enough for both speakers. I'll just use that $25 on a better pair of speakers like Yamahas and know i have actual legit warranty support if needed. In the mean time, ill just open the speaker up and check for lose wire, but was disappointed with this situation. Will not buy Dual again.

Using 4 of these on my sailboat matched with the kenwood 152 car stereo
Before I ramble on, I just want to answer a question some people had about the mystery strips of rubber. They're for the brackets that mount onto the wall or surface. Each piece of rubber slides onto the sides of the bracket so when you screw the bracket onto a flat surface, it will not vibrate. Also, the little sticky black (messy so be careful) things are to put on the screw holes(like exterior of your home installs) to keep water out of where the screw goes into your install...obviously not needed if it's inside :). OK more cool info from me.... I bought one set and gave it a test run on my backyard system run on a home stereo. I disconnected my old faithful KLH brand speaker and connected one of these. I thought this would sound better, as the KLH have been outside for 6 or more years and totally abused with the weather and blasting music. The Duel were not as rich sounding or as loud. I thought about it for a while and then just went ahead and bought another set of Dual. I was tempted to search for the KLH because they're far better. I decided not to because they're larger...not good for a small cabin of a sailboat or the cockpit. Also the Kenwood stereo I bought is rated 50w x 4 which is just a max output rating and only really puts out 22w RMS x 4 (root mean square) which means not so much power :) So ultimately these speakers are more than enough for the system and the close confined space of a sailboat. If your going to want affordable, rugged and loud, nice midgrade speakers you may want to consider the larger KLH....out of stock on Amazon. these are the newer KLH of what I have and sold for about $30 http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00000J3G3/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2LP19M5CTZE7R&coliid=I272S45BKX0C4P may have to copy and paste I would've liked these Dual more if I didn't compare it to my KLH but I did...oh well. The Dual are fine, enough for me to go ahead and buy another set but know they are basic in sound and quality which will still satisfy most....like me The Dual manual says to use 18 gauge (AWG) speaker wire Which is thin wire. I was going to use 14 AWG ( is heavier wire) until I saw that. I decided to go with 16 (AWG) speaker wire...compromising once again for ease of running it along seams and grooves of the cabin. If you plan to have your speakers a good distance from the stereo use thicker wire like 14AWG otherwise 16AWG should be fine for this size speaker with its output.

Buena calidad…
Son pequeñas pero con una gran sonoridad a pesar del tamaño. Para un lugar de eventos, una serie de estas bocinas funcionan bien en conferencias y música ambiental.
