SinLoon 2.5 to 3.5 IDE Adapter,2.5 Inch 44 Pin Hard Disk Drive Laptop IDE to 40 Pin 3.5 Inch Desktop PC PATA Port Converter Card Adapter(IDE 2.5 to 3.5)

Used this adapter to upgrade the hard drive in my iMac G4. Replaced the spinning drive with an M2 (SATA) and 2.5" IDE adapter. Then the SinLoon 2.5 to 3.5" adapter to plug everything in. Had to add some insulation to the bottom of the circuit board to prevent it from shorting out on the metal case of the drive sled. But otherwise it was plug and play.

I needed an odd part, found it here and was pleased that it was available, priced well, and could be ordered easily. It arrived quickly a d was exactly what i needed. Thanks.

Fits great 👍 and works very well with the 2.5 ide ssd to make this work you may need a jumper cap pin to the ssd or m.2 to ide adapter just you use on the ide hard drive.

Got this to test a hard drive I had. unfortunately the drive ended up being dead, but the adapter is similar to ones I have owned before. The listing states "If the reverse connection indicator does not light, please turn off the power immediately and reconnect it correctly!" there are no instructions that come with it, and no markings that indicate which of the lights is the "reverse connection indicator". I would assume the red one is the RCI because it comes on when power is applied. otherwise this is just a straight through connector that also supplies power to the hard drive. simple and no active components.

I am trying to use an mSATA drive I put in an IDE enclosure to use in an older Power Macintosh so I got this. in order to test I am using a Macally Firewire enclosure with 40-pin IDE internal interface. The drive works, but the adapter, unfortunately, does not. There are two lights; a red power light and a green activity light. The red light comes on when power is applied, the green one came on shortly (2 seconds) and has never lit up again. I have since tested in multiple scenarios and it just doesn't work. I also find the build quality a little dodgy, not quite as sturdy as it should be for something like this. All in all, I will try to return or exchange.
