Do you paint it on, let it dry and then heat it up until it melts?

Paint it on, let it dry, which takes almost no time. Than do your test for heat. Some advice... keep the bottle tightly closed and in an upright position. The solvent they use is highly volatile and if bottle is left open, it will dry out quickly.

Is there a special type of thinner needed?

Tempilaq comes ready to use right out of the bottle. I believe the manufacturer does make a thinner if yours gets too thick over time...

How long before the product you will ship me will expire? It's the 399/750 version

Can't how long before the product will ship that is up to Amazon. I do not think there is an expiration date I have used mine for several years.

The product that I purchased was a single bottle product. I would have had to purchase thinner seperately. As Micky-1 stated, it would depend on who is selling it and how it is priced. This appears that it would not include the thinner
