fast grower roots with ease
Received my hosta bare roots total of 6 on the 11th of August, Alexa gave me the instructions, soaked the roots in distilled water all together for 1 hour. shake them and pat them dry to get the excess moisture. Very important I made error in laying them down and there was some water on my planting mat and the last root the leave disintegrated. watch out for gnats and slugs. I will place Diatomaceous earth in the pots when I transfer them outside once it has cooled off. I used Wonder soil and planted each root in a 10 inch pot with many drainage holes. The sprouts were in excellent condition healthy. its only been 3 days and I am amazed how fast they are growing. I have them indoors for now as the heat index we have been experiencing high temps over 100 Degree F. I plan to plant to use them to decorate the front yard flower bed as ground cover. I am very pleased with these plants. I had previous purchased bare root hosta from a seller at Walmart. The roots never sprouted and the seller is no where to be found to contact. I notice the roots came from a seller in china. Total waste of money and time. I recycled the soil and used it on my new hosta bare roots. I have included pictures of the hosta after 2 days they had already increased in size make sure to keep the soil moist not wet. The last root is the one that lost its bud yet it is all-ready growing coming up. Make sure and do your research before you leap to have success with growing these beautiful plants.

Very Happy!
Very happy with the purchase. The packaging is pretty good, two bags with 3 hostas in each bag, roots were surrounded by peat moss, all roots were healthy. 5 out of 6 hostas already had small leaves sticking out, the 6th one had it broken off, but once all were planted into the ground all 6 started growing quite nicely. In 10 days most already look like real plants and are identifiable(as in visible colors and stripes). The only thing to note, since its sold as a mix, you don't really know what each one is going to become before planting(solids/stripes). If you need to be sure, you might want to plant them in temporary pots first to see what type comes out before planting into the ground to fit your garden design.

Healthy plants but little variety
All plants were viable, healthy roots, and have sprouted nicely! The only issue I have is that they were supposed to be a mixed variety, and so far, everything pretty much looks like the same plant, except for one. I have had many hostas, so I know they start to appear different after the leaves have fully gained color. So I waited until after they grew a little to review these plants. Other than that, I am very satisfied with the quality! I just wish there were more variety.

They are thriving
Only four of them have come up. But they look healthy and appear to be thriving in my problem shady site. Actually, I just took a picture of them and possibly planted more than one in a spot. For some reason I can't send a picture from my phone to my email to post the pictre.

50% Survival Rate
My hosta roots arrived in time and appeared to be in good shape. I received a full set of six. Four of the six already had budding leaves. After following all care instructions and recommendations from local gardeners, I planted and watered accordingly. The two sets of roots without buds never sprouted. They may have already been dead upon planting - hard to tell. One of the four that appeared healthy and was already budding died just four weeks after planting. The remaining three are strong and thriving. Of the four that budded, only three were variegated. With only three survivors, this means each of the successful plants cost me $6. That’s better than the $7.50 WalMart would charge per plant, but not as good as the $5 per plant at Home Depot. I went with roots specifically to save money (coming out around $2-$3 per plant if all six had lived). While I do feel proud of the three that I’ve planted and grown myself, in the end I’d recommend going to your local gardening center for grown hostas instead, to guarantee health and color for the price.

Perfect!!! Grows fast too!!! Definitely great!!!
Definitely pleased with this purchase. They came secure in plastic to protect the roots. Easy to plant. I chose a 16 inch self watering pot. I got these around April 10th. This picture is 7 days later 4/17. The 2nd picture is today, 4/25. Get them if u want!!! It's definitely worth the purchase. I'm trying to decide I want more. Picture updates...24 days later since I purchased...5/4 update - These are paired with creepy Jenny's in a 16 inch self watering pot. 1 has even produced a 4th Hostas. Excellent buy!!!!!

Good quality,great packaging
These are the greatest plants I’ve ever purchased!! See photos below … 1st was the day planted then 2 days later then 5 days later …well worth the price . I will definitely buy from them again . They were delivered in good packaging…my problem was with the USPS ..instead of bringing to the front door they squeezed it in my mail box so it sat in there over night!

Seem healthy, but no identification of plant names.
I would recommend opening and watering them as soon as you get them, and then plant them right away, whether in pots or in the ground. 4 of mine arrived with leaves grown already, 2 didn’t , but seem to have healthy roots. I would also recommend incorporating a fertilizer granular and root boost. The bags I received had no writing, pictures, or instructions. I would like to know what kind they are, but it’s more a grab bag. If you want to know which kind they are, I recommend potting individually and waiting for leaves to mature and then plant. I will update as they grow.
