I love L-Citrulline Malate (2:1).
I love L-Citrulline Malate (2:1). I love L-Citrulline Malate (2:1). I love L-Citrulline Malate (2:1). It is a miracle drug. There is nothing better. Creatine sucks. Creatine made my feet swell up to 2-5 times their normal size depending on how much sodium I had or how long I had been sitting in my chair. It caused shin cramps at the top of my feet that quickly extended to the front of my shins, and it was excruciatingly painful. I did not feel stronger taking Creatine, but L-Citrulline Malate (2:1) makes me feel like I can do anything. It motivates me to work out, I feel less burn, I can do more reps, and I recover faster. Creatine made me feel dehydrated, required me to drink a lot of water to prevent headaches and shin cramps, and required me to take it every single day. L-Citrulline Malate (2:1) can be taken when needed. Ugh, if only L-Citrulline Malate was readily available three decades ago. My life would have been do different if I had known about it then and was taking it. I also like the taste of it. It tastes like sour lemonade. I just add a little sweetener to it.

TL;DR: Looks Good, Feels Good (taste is tart and MIGHT make me pee more)
In this review I will do my best to cover two main points: Quality/Delivery, Taste, and Potential Impact on my workouts. Background and Quality: I tried citrulline malate because I had read about it's usefulness as both a vasodilator and as a promoter of arginine production in the body, and I tried BulkSupplements Citrulline Malate because of the price-per-serving. I began taking 2x the dosage (6-7g) this past week along with my Naked Energy unflavored pre-workout and was very impressed overall. Upon opening the bag I found that the powder was very fine and without any clumping. Dosing it is more difficult with BulkSupplements because they do not include a scoop, however that was easily rectified by just measuring it out on my kitchen scale. I was extremely surprised and excited to find that despite the relatively large amount of CitMal that I had pulled out of the bag, all of it was able to dissolve fully in a cup of approx. 8-10 oz cold water. I was even more impressed when I was able to mix my 5g of pre-workout into the same cup and despite the atrociously bitter and unrecognizable taste of unflavored pre-workout, I was able to actually A) drink the glass without praying to god that the taste won't make me vomit and B) Make a flavor association to something that I've eaten before, which actually made it considerably more palatable. Taste: It is important to remember that these supplements are not made with taste in mind. That being said, I was very pleasantly surprised to find that the CitMal seemed to completely mask my pre-workout's ungodly bitterness, and rounded it out to taste very similar to a Warhead sour candy. Because of this, I was actually able to drink the cup somewhat normally rather than have to use my -take 5 sips, chase with water and repeat- method that I was doing with my pre-workout before. If you are not good with the tart taste of a warhead, you may want to find something to mix this with that isn't water. If like me you are totally cool with drinking something that's between lemonade without sugar and a liquid Warhead or you think you would enjoy the nostalgia that it brings about reminiscent of popping one of those nasty suckers into your mouth for until the sour fades, this is the perfect pre-workout product for you. Potential Impact on Workout: I want to put in a quick disclaimer that it isn't going to be entirely possible to completely distinguish the effects of my pre-workout versus the CitMal, but I'll do my best. After beginning my double dose of CitMal before my workout, I didn't notice a huge difference between my level of energy before starting the CitMal (when I was only taking pre-workout) and after the CitMal was added. the HUGE difference that I noticed was how I felt between sets. I found my muscles burning and asking me to end my set, but within a minute or two of putting down the weight, it felt almost as if I hadn't done the prior set in the first place. This insanely fast recovery was extremely beneficial for helping me get through my workout efficiently, and without leaving me feeling dead on my way out of the gym. Additionally, the amount of DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscular Soreness) was significantly lower and left me feeling not only good about myself, but also confident that I could do anything I wanted or needed to do all week long without being hindered by breathtakingly sore muscles. The final bonus for this product was that it allowed me to maintain my energy throughout the entire day. I would leave the gym breathing heavily and within a couple of minutes I felt similar to the way I did going into the gym. I was thoroughly impressed. Side Effects: Here's the rub--I am pretty sure that I started sweating more in the gym after starting this product, and I also noticed that I have had to use at least one of my breaks between sets to go pee mid-workout. I think that this is in-part due to the CitMal, however I did also start drinking a bit more water before going to the gym so I'm guessing it's a combination. Anyway, good luck finding the product that is right for you, and good luck on your workout! may the gainz be with you.

Effective & a Great Value
Bulk Supplements is my go to when it comes to any kind of powdered supplement that can be taken with water or juice. Why? I trust the brand and the purity of the products. And they have the best price point (value). As far as their Citrulline Malate - it's awesome. I get great blood flow and pumps within about 15-20 minutes (the pumps can be great for the gym or great for "other" activities as well). It has a slightly sour taste but can easily be mixed with preworkout or juice. I also feel like I sweat easier too. The powder mixes well. I've never had a problem with clumps or anything of that sort. Great value and my go to for bulk powders.

Put a Tiger-In-Your-Tank!
Yes, Pure L-Citrulline DL-Malate 2:1 is truly effective in "boosting my reserve energy level - When I need it" I highly recommend this specific product. It is a very "clean" - no noticeable side effects - do not feel a buzz, like with a double shot of espresso. Doesn't keep me awake at night - I sense it is very safe! Non-habit forming - No biological urges to take it. No noticeable loss of my normal mode energy and limitations if I miss taking it. BUT, it's like now, I have a "Tiger-In-My-Tank", or a "Turbo-Power" mode switch that automatically shifts ON when I get the notion to push harder physically at a challenge. And the "pushing" is fun, enjoyable, positive - NOT work or grueling or "I can't wait till it is over" thing - 'You know what I mean'. Examples: I ride my road bike to & from work every day - in both directions. I have to climb 2 long hills and 1 short one - been doing it for years - always been sort of grueling - shift down to lowest gear and still my cadence always slowed down. Since last 6 months, taking just 2/3 teaspoon in 6 oz water about 45 - 60 min before riding, I now amazingly have this "reserve power - about 20% more to power up the hills feeling super and strong -with stamina!!! In that way L-Citrulline DL-Malate 2:1 is rather Magical - Strong energy boost only when you ask for it! This extra inner capacity to push seems to last a few hours, because without taking additional dose, I find it easier to do 10-12 more Push-ups during the day at work break - and say 20-30 seconds more prone Plank for Abs toning than this supplement. I detect no extra increases in heart rate or hyperactivity or any other biological reaction. Psychologically though - I feel many, many years younger, and after my workout - super healthy. I repeat 2/3 tsp 45-60 min before riding home. Same super-feeling during the ride up hills and when I get home. But like I said - I don't feel any different after taking the dose - this is until I start a physical activity where I can choose to push. There is a subtle feeling of "super wellness" I suppose where a little voice in my head says, "Go for it - Climb that hill fast - You've got the Power! Now I enjoy those little challenges where I can "enjoy pushing my body harder - and feel confident and safe about it". The contents are fine snow-white pure crystals - I just stir in plain water a few seconds - Pleasingly mild citrus taste. (Note: Earlier this year I first tried "L-Citrulline without the Malate 2:1 formula" - and I did not experience any boost in energy or really anything - no reaction. whatsoever.) After more research I chose the Malate 2:1 formula as the fit seemed to match better what I was looking for. Hoping all of you have similar experiences of there being a "Tiger-In-Your-Tank", Tom in Carlsbad, CA

Halved My Recovery Times
I've been using this supplement for almost a month now, and I can now say I've had it long enough to leave an efficient review. For those who don't know, citrulline is an alpha-amino acid byproduct of enzymes that act on arginine (another amino acid). These reactions essentially release nitric oxide (NO) into the body, which relaxes and dilates smooth muscle, allowing increased blood flow. Smooth muscle lines the blood vessels as well as the gastrointestinal tract. I write this as I've heard few people complain of diarrhea or GI upset after using citrulline. In such cases, I would recommend reducing the dose. In my experience with this product, I have experienced ZERO GI issues. No diarrhea, no cramps, no pain, and no change to my routine restroom use. I've used NO-boosting products before, such as Nitrix. As for citrulline, I take 3 g (1-rounded teaspoon) before my workout and another 3 g immediately after my workout. It's very convenient. I can honestly say that this product has more than halved my recovery time. The extra circulation reduces rest periods and vastly shortens recovery periods. I have chronic back problems as well (degenerative), that seem to alleviate with activity. So, I am very grateful for the shortened recovery times. More activity for me equates to less back pain. As far as the sacred "pump" goes, never fear. This product will get you there and then some. I've taken arginine pre-workout, and felt only mild-to-moderate effects. Citrulline Malate is the way to go. The pump is much more intense. You can push yourself harder. I've noticed more solid musculature after a workout. I've been able to push myself so hard in workouts while using this product that I "feel" the muscle is failing because it's packed with blood. You really have to experience this product. When taken responsibly as part of a balanced diet and regular activity, you will enjoy benefits from it. I can give this product my highest recommendation. There is only one minute negative, and that's the taste it adds to my post-workout shake. It adds a bitter taste. This is probably my fault, because I don't experience this when it's added to my pre-workout shake. If flavor is important to you, I would recommend mixing it with just water or trying other things like juices. I don't really care about taste. I chug my pre- and post-workout shakes regardless, so I didn't even notice it until the second or third time. I'm not in this for flavor, I'm in this for results. As such, I will be a regular consumer of this product. I can't imagine wasting time in the gym without this in my supplement regime. TL;DR I've been in the gym non-stop. Hungry for more. I've been to the gym six days this week, having done chest, biceps, shoulders, triceps TWICE; legs, and back. I get through workouts twice as fast and recover twice as fast.

Custom Pre-Workout Stack by Bulk Supplements
I purchased this product as a part of my own pre-workout stack consisting of 4 g Beta Alanine, 6 g Citrulline Malate, and 4 g Creatine Monohydrate. I have taken a few other pre-workouts in the past and do not like many of the added fillers ($$), and having to deal with unknown dosage amounts that end up in "proprietary blends". Bulk Supplements provide exactly what they advertise, the purest form of said ingredients at very reasonable products. That being said, the quality of the products are top notch and my results have been reflective of that. I have made significant gains on my lifts in both volume and number, increased strength, stamina, and endurance, and have been able to do so on a caloric deficit without compromise. My aim was to control the specific dosages of each ingredient for my desired results (fat loss and muscle gain), and Bulk Supplements have allowed me to do that. All three powders mix and dissolve very well with water, with no clumping or residue left behind in the shaker bottle. Beta Alanine is said to help prevent muscular fatigue during workouts, while Citrulline Malate is a vaso-dialator, which leads to a better pump. Creatine Monohydrate helps support lean muscle and ATP synthesis while aiding in muscular recovery. It is especially beneficial for anaerobic exercises that require that extra push. As far as I can tell, the Beta Alanine and Creatine Monohydrate both have neutral flavors, but the Citrulline Malate is extremely bitter. I would recommend mixing with some form of sweetener to offset the bitterness and make this blend more palatable. I use Fruit Punch Gatorade powder (11g) for my mix and it works for me. This is only about a half dose of the Gatorade powder as listed on the bottle, but again, trying to cut involves limiting sugar and calorie intake. Some may want it sweeter, but I'm taking this for results, not taste. To anyone looking to build a custom pre-workout, I would highly recommend using Bulk Supplements. Shipping is fast, accurate, and relatively inexpensive compared to the flashier brands you will see in places like GNC. I will soon be adding BCAA 2:1:1 into my daily routine to help with muscle soreness and recovery as well.

I took half the recommended dose and wow! I was zingin and zooming everywhere! Tastes like lemon water, not bad but it is bitter. Dissolved easily, no side/after effects that I noticed. Good amount for price paid. Not full of all the other bs like other products
