I went for second year canes because I was hoping that I wouldn't just get the plants established this year but maybe actually have some fruit as well. Far more than I'd hoped, we're pulling down enough berries for a side dish almost every evening. The canes were exactly as described, except that there was one extra in the package; following the instructions in the posted videos woke everything up and they were off and running as soon as I could get them out in the ground. Even now they are still flowering and I bet these will fruit until the frost finally closes up business for the year. I couldn't be happier with these plants - thank you. Review: Don’t trust customer service/guarantee on products from this company. - I spent over $260 on bare root plants from this seller between this & last year, followed their instructions, got half of 18 bare roots to grow last year, and not 1 of the 6 that I ordered this last month to grow a leaf. Pretty poor results- I didn’t push for a refund or a replacement after speaking with the seller and being lead to believe perhaps it was the fault of too hot of weather to start bare root plants last year- After less than 1/2 of the 18 plants developed. Didn’t ask or push for a replacement- or refund. (Because I had 100% success rate on the 48 bare root strawberry plants I bought from them at the same time) and figured maybe it WAS just too hot, although it was around mid 70’s when they went in the ground. I went ahead and ordered them again from them earlier this spring. This time I also planted 4 bare root raspberry and 4 bare root blueberry plants that I had picked up from Costco. (They were packaged in a box with no growth. Just 4 “dead looking” sticks with some sawdusty dirt around some dry looking roots inside a baggie.)The only difference between this nursery’s “sticks”, and Costco’s “sticks”- was waiting to plant Costco’s plants for an extra month- because the temperature where I live was not in the temp. range the guy I contacted last year had advised me to plant them the year prior. (So I stored them in a cool place until I could plant them) And ordered these a month later, and planted them all when these arrived. I planted them in the same dirt, per instructed, as well as following the instructions on the box from whatever distributor Costco supplied this year. The results; ALL (8) of Costco’s bare root plants planted in the same area, popped out greenery, and seem to be thriving, while not a single one developed from this nursery’s bare root plants. There were a couple that looked like they had a white looking node that might develop into a leaf, but did nothing after being unwrapped from the Seran wrap that they were tightly wrapped and sent in. I consider customer service seriously when I order from desertcart. I also look at the reviews on products. Also a major consideration is trying to support local businesses or small business. I am willing to spend $500+ on a trip to the local nursery, vs. Home Depot’s $150 bill to support small business, and have someone with a good knowledge about the plants and products that will make things thrive. BUT after calling, and following customer service instructions to discuss a replacement or refund this year after not having 1 even sprout a leaf, I got a lecture about how the plants I bought from Costco were potted plants, and then told me in a text to “not to buy from this nursery again” because I don’t “follow their planting instructions”. I contacted them about the obvious issue with this shipment, because their sticks didn’t do anything, while the 8 other “bare root plants” I bought from Costco are thriving. I sent pictures, and hoped for the customer service that they said was “guaranteed“. Customer service with them is a waste of time, money, and insulting. They ASSUMED I bought something different, and told me based on their assumptions, that’s why I had success, but even if that WAS the case it doesn’t change the fact theirs did not grow. Don’t count on a guarantee on these products/ plants, they DO NOT STAND BY THEIR GUARANTEE. They shame you instead, and act like you are ignorant, and lead you to believe that it was your improper planting that caused the poor results, and then “add insult to injury” telling you not to buy from them because their product didn’t produce? Wow. Photos attached for reference. Bare Sticks are these. The ones that look like plants (Costco’s) also looked like bare sticks when they went in the ground. The blueberries, had started to pop leaves before they were taken out of the baggies.

Slow and Steady Wins the Race!
A little slow to start out (planted Spring 2024 as bare roots) but now August 2025 we have tall, flowering canes with large darker colored raspberries. The first summer we had maybe 10 berries between 3 plants, all 3 bare roots grew well just didn’t flower and produce much but this year they have taken off very well!! Berries are great tasting and sweet. Huge positive is these canes are thornless!! Would definitely recommend trying them!

2 survived, but are doing great.
Two out of the three survived, but the two that survived are doing great and produced fruit the first years. The raspberries are large, pretty, and taste great.

Beautiful tasty berries
Purchased these twice last year and by the end of summer we were getting a few berries each day. This spring the plants multiplied by three and we got over 10 lbs of berries on the early bloom and could have gotten about the same on the second bloom if the wasps and hornets didn’t take the entire patch over! I have recommended this variety to several people.

Super Healthy, Beautiful
Trust me on this one. These starts will grow! I had to store these about a week in my garage. When I opened the package and carefully unwrapped the starts I was amazed. Each of the starter plants had brand new healthy roots among the dormant roots. Each plant was ready to go into it's newly prepared bed ! I had no doubt that they would grow fine for me. The extra BONUS was instead of just three shoots this seller put in FOUR . I should have plenty of red rasperries every year. Joan raspberries are supposed to be marvelous and reliable producers. If you are deciding which seller to choose, go with this seller. !!

They didn’t take!
I originally bought raspberry canes at Menards. I assumed they were not well taken care of as to the reason why they didn’t sprout or grow or do anything. That’s why I decided to buy from a specialty provider. However, regardless of my meticulous efforts to ensure a proper environment, these also appear to not be viable. It’s been long enough. I’m disappointed! I made an entire section in my yard specifically for these to grow and produce. Not sure what to do with it now!

Not worth the money
My order arrived on June 25th and I immediately planted them. However, they have not sent out even one leaf even though I gave them a good start with nutrients to help the roots adjust and give them energy to grow. I gave them 3.5 weeks to start sending out growth and finally checked them by scratching the surface a bit and they are brown underneath their skin, not green. They are not viable. Unfortunately the return window was closed before the usual 30 days from date of delivery. I do not suggest buying from this seller since they do not provide a full 30 day return window to give the buyer time to see if the plants are viable.
