This Book was a very interesting read for myself and was a massive help to me throughout my studies. I recently graduated from a BSc Undergraduate degree in Sport, Exercise and Nutrition. This book definitely helped to boost my knowledge and understanding throughout my course and helped me to achieve a First Class Hons degree. A purchase you physically cannot regret
I've had this book for a day at the time of writing. I've made it through the first two chapters and taken notes on all of it.(Believe me you'll want to) The information in this book is excellently presented. People of a basic understanding can comprehend the meaning of everything being said and delve into deeper detail than they're accustomed to, and those of a higher understanding can further their knowledge of the topic due to the sheer volume of information condensed into each paragraph. As a Personal Trainer, I'd recommend any fitness professional (or even regular gym goers) pick this up and ensure they read it cover to cover if they want to level up their knowledge of muscle building.

The most in depth finding on all things muscle. Brad has bore his soul into this work and it shows. Brilliant, informative and evolutionary.

Overpriced. Full of useless studies, unfortunately.
I enjoyed reading the book. Just because I enjoyed it doesn't mean I learned anything. This book basically outlines how bad epistemology can be in the scope of nutrition science. I think the word 'science' got me, I was expected some in-depth analysis of scientific processes within the body and how they interact and trigger processes. This book delivered that very vaguely. I liked the information at the end about carbs and fats. That was.... helpful... but not ยฃ50 helpful. This one does not deserve a place on my bookshelf as most of the info in here can be found in a couple clicks on the old search engine.

Great, solid book
Really enjoying this book. I've followed the author for years and respect him. I am a trainer and have been for a long time. I find this book easy to read and has a great amount of useful information. I've seen some reviews that say its a bit scientific and then others saying its nothing new...I don't agree with either. He explains well, backs everything up and its easy to research further if I wish to. As to nothing new...its uptodate and explains itself...so really....a great solid book and a welcome edition to my book shelf.

This is a great book. If you want to know the science of Muscle Hypertrophy, this book and Designing Resistance Training Programs by Steven J. Fleck and William J. Kraemer (also recommended by Scott). buy both books. I also think the practical programming book is a great resource I've re-read and tried to completely learn.

Every fitness enthusiast should read this book!
Brad wrote the book (second edition) which should be read by any fitness enthusiast. As in 2016, in 2020, the book opens the door to the basic aspects of muscle hypertrophy with reference to the latest research. It is written in such way that anybody can profit from provided informations. Mainly, I love parts with a practical application of (read) theoretical knowledge, which perfectly completes the whole story. Thank you Brad for a such great book and work in fitness field.
