does it work when using a charging cable? for instance in car

Technically, you can not use this qi receiver and cable charging simultaneously. But if you want to use cable charging,it is also very easy, just simply unplug the connector of this qi wireless receiver, then plug your cable into your phone's usb port.If you cover this into your phone case, you don't need to take it out as well, just leave the usb port to the cable, which is no trouble and very convenient for you.

Do you mean iphone xs?iPhone xs has internal wireless charging moduel already,so you don't need to get this extra wireless charging receiver.

Will it fit motorola g8 power?

Only if motorola g8 power's charging port is type c connector, this qi reciver works for your phone.
