Rankie DisplayPort (DP) to HDMI Cable, 4K Resolution Ready, 6 Feet, Black

I was hoping to use it with my Gigabyte B450I AORUS PRO WIFI and some display port monitors. I plugged in the HDMI end to the output on the motherboard and the display port end to the input to the monitors. To my surprise, it didn't work. I ordered 2 so I tried out the other one, and it still didn't work. Thinking I got a defective product, I was getting bummed, but I decided to do an internet search on such cables and it turns out, you can only use these cables in one direction. That is, display port output to HDMI input. If you wanted HDMI output to display port input, you'll need an active converter. So then I tried using this cable with the display port output of my desktop's graphics card into the HDMI input of a TV and it worked! So the cables were not faulty at all, it was just myself that wasn't using it right so I don't think it's fair of me to rate the product poorly because it didn't work when I didn't use it properly. Luckily I did find some other uses for these cables at home so it's not a waste. Just a heads up to those who want to get this cable. Make sure you know which one is your output and input.

I bought this to connect a Lenovo computer (which has a Display Port and no HDMI connection) to a monitor which has an HDMI input but no DP input. Everything seems to work fine - picture is great, sound is great. The connectors at each end of the cable are nice and tight. I haven't had the cable very long, so I can't comment on its long-term performance. One caveat, which isn't really a problem with the cable - I had no sound at first, then after doing some googling, I discovered that I needed to go into my Windows 10 Control Panel and tweak the sound instructions. Windows 10 had assumed that the newly connected monitor had its own speakers, and made the monitor the default sound source, but the monitor doesn't have speakers. I use Logitech speakers (not the built-in speakers that come with the computer), so I needed to change the defaults to make sure that my speakers were selected. Problem solved! I'm just mentioning this in case anyone else runs into this issue.with a monitor.

I am glad that it worked as expected, connecting my old desktop that has DP port only to a new monitor that has HDMI port only. The DP is ++ compliant so it supports the converter without additional issue. The male HDMI end is a little on the short side. When it plugs into the monitor, it is a bit loose, sometimes. Not sure if related, sometimes the picture is out of sync, especially at the boot up. After the picture stabilizes, it stays that way, so it's okay. For the cost, it does a sufficiently good job.

Use Case: 3D CAD Technical Engineering (House Plans) and MMORPG Video Gaming. Using these cable to adapt from Display Port to HDMI will allow for video and audio pass thru, you may find out that AMD FreeSync detection is not working. This has been tested with and PowerColor RX570 4GB video card and 2 Sceptre E248W-19203RS AMD FreeSync Supported monitors. While this is not a deal breaker, it is merely a limitation in the pass thru chip for these cables. -Retract Following Statement- Bare that in mind when purchasing these cable. Also you will not be able to go higher than the rated 60Hz for monitor refresh, as again this limited by the conversion chip within the cable. - 2/28/2020 Correction to post. I was able to engage the 75Hz refresh rate on the monitors in Windows 10 Build 19569 and the AMD Raedon 2020 driver. The limitation was as a result of Beta Windows 10 build from Microsoft, issue has now been resolved As for older monitor, as in the my case of an ACER S231HL, these cable will NOT WORK correctly. You will get signal, however you will not be able to set the resolution higher then 640x480. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS CABLE. This is a limitation of the HDMI port on the monitor not the cable. This monitor work correctly with a Display Port to DVI convertor cable also from Rankie. Would I highly recommend these cables for a use case such as this. As my budget does not support me moving to a DISPLAY PORT natively supported monitors at this time, I would still purchase more of these cables. 3/26/2020 After a Windows Build 19592 RS_prerelease.200321-1719and a new AMD Adrenaline Driver 20.3.1 FreeSync is now working on both of my Monitors. What I thought was a limitation of the cable, turned out to be a driver issue. Also now able to run as 75Hz on the both monitors.

I bought this cable because I wanted to use my LG 4K monitor for work, after my workplace sent us to work from home because of COVID. The monitor only has one DP and two HDMI inputs, and the work laptop has only DP and VGA outputs. I did not want to use the DP input since my gaming computer is connected to it, and the Freesync option works only through DP. Since the laptop doesn't need Freesync, this looked like an ideal solution. I was a bit apprehensive at first because I had never heard of this brand, but there were lots of 5-star reviews, so I gave it a chance. And it works. Picture quality is just as if I had plugged a regular DP cable to the monitor -- text is sharp, without any blurring or color artifacts. The monitor has no speakers so I can't test the claims about stereo sound, but otherwise this cable is great. Absolutely pleased with the purchase.

Short and sweet review... In our gaming rig, I installed the MSI Radeon rx 5700xt Gaming X. We use our flat screen TV as the monitor. It was connected by HDMI. There were times where the audio would drop out under medium to heavy load, and researched the issue in many forums. Symptoms pointed in several directions, many due to latency. One topic that made sense, is the connection through HDMI, and all the stats therein. It was said to go through the DP instead, due to better technology. So, I bought this cable (given the fact the TV does not support DP), installed it, and, wow... what a difference... All settings were maxed out, and never skipped a beat. Inexpensive "fix" to a problem that stumped many. This cable appeared in many "best of" reviews for bandwidth, and offers a nice balance between price and quality. If your GPU has DP, and your monitor is HDMI, I highly recommend!!

To begin this tale, a while ago, I ordered a Lenovo L420 refurbished for about 160 dollars and had no problems with it. A few months later, I decided that I wanted to mirror my laptop to my television, so I could browse on a larger screen. However, this is when I realized that my computer did not have an HDMI port; Only 1 Displayport port and one VGA port. The only cables that I had at my house were VGA and HDMI, so I just decided to use a VGA cable to connect to my television, but I had an epiphany (sort of) and remembered VGA does not transfer audio. Because my television only has the option of connecting through either VGA or HDMI, I knew that I would either have to use external speakers connected directly to my computer in order to broadcast any audio at any reasonable level, or I would need to find some way of connecting my computer to one of the HDMI ports on my television. I had another epiphany (yeah...) and thought to myself: "Why don't I just buy a Displayport to HDMI adapter?" With that thought and a quick search on Amazon, I ordered this cable and you probably know the rest, and that is the story of how I came into the possession of this wonderful cable. Serious stuff: The cable that I received is very sturdy and came in hassel-free packaging. It was basically plug-and-play when I connected it from my laptop to my television. The operating system that I was using was Windows 10, so I don't know how well this cable would work with Mac OS, Chromium, Linux or any others right out of the box. I assume though, that with older versions of Windows (Windows 7 and up), screen mirroring with this cable will also be plug and play.

Worked as expected and is great to now have multiple screens running. Quality is in 4K and loving the gaming.

Sur une carte graphique GTX 1060 le port Hdmi était déjà occupé par le premier moniteur et il ne restait que des ports Display Port libres. Nous voulions brancher un deuxième écran et celui-ci (un Samsung 27 pouces génial https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B01BCF09R0/ ) n'a malheureusement qu'une fiche Hdmi et une fiche vesa, rien d'autre. 💡 La seule solution était donc de trouver un cordon adaptateur Display Port vers Hdmi. 👉 Nous avons opté pour ce modèle et vous avons bien fait : on branche et ça marche !
