Where Eagles Dare [DVD] [1968]

An absolute classic. Clint at his best.

Bought for a demanding customer - was well pleased with it. A classic film, so nice not to be relying on seeing it on TV.

You've got the finest acting, Richard Burton AND Clint Eastwood. Burton is on form and he obviously had fun doing this. Eastwood is near is coolest. The music is perfect. Possibly the greatest opening sequence belongs to Bond spy who loved me, the ski and parachute, but Eagles opening is pretty dam good. It is action packed, a high kill ratio, The plot is brilliant, it twists and turns. You are never never bored watching this film. You root for the characters, you really want them to get out alive. I ask other guys whats the best film ever? If they say Italian job, dam busters, deliverance, great escape etc etc, I am in for good argument You get some guys especailly younger people, who pick some utter trash as their fave film ever. Some idiots pick a film off the top off their head they saw six months ago. I take them through their film, and Eagles and it is a demolition job, they are left looking shame faced. If you don't think this is a good film, you have the brainpower of a garden snail. This is the greatest film ever made. I can sort of understand if a woman doesn't get this,

2020 DVD in widescreen with English, French and italian audio with subtitles in these languages along with Arabic, Dutch, Gernam, Romanian and Spanish subtitles. There is also a making of featurette that seems to have been made in 1968 The film itself is as standard WWII spy movie as you will ever get but it is extremely well made with a crackerjack cast who give it their all, along with good supense, great action and a few neat twists that should satisfy most action fans

Brilliant

Excellent film brilliant stunts and stories line

I totally enjoyed this war film. It was so good I can see me coming back to it many times in the future. In real life I was never a fan of Richard Burton but in this he was superb. Seemed funny seeing Clint Eastwood dressed as a soldier rather than a cowboy but he was, as always, very good too. Money well spent I'd say. Subtitles available if you need them. Highly recommended.

A good, honest film - fun for all the family. I'm not being tongue in cheek. For Dad in the shape of Ingrid Pitt in a dirndl, Mum in the form of Richard Burton in a German uniform, junior - plenty of explosions etc. A very easy and uncomplicated plot to follow; the snow scenes welcome during a heat wave. Big name stars - the kind of easy on the eye film to settle down to, good score too. I thoroughly recommend it.

Dieser Kriegsfilm ist mit den Schauspielern Richard Burton und Clint Eastwood zur Legende geworden. Ab Film Anfang bis Schluss hat mich dieser Spionage Thriller mitten ins Geschehen mitgenommen. Sehr cool ausgeführt und tolle Filmlocation auf der Burg in Oesterreich welche heute besucht werden kann. Heim Kino pur.

Though the plot is a bit weak, the cast, location, direction and film score make it one of the best of WW2 fiction films. Derren Nesbitt at his smarmy best.
