The Snowplow the Original Snow Pusher 48" Wide Model

Assembly took about 30 minutes because I didn’t have the right tools. A ratchet for the bolts and a drill for the self-tapping handle screws would make the process much faster. The shovel is very sturdy. It’s heavier than expected, with a metal shaft and plastic blade/components. It feels durable and capable of handling abuse, but it’s not something you’d want to throw around. This is not ideal for lifting snow — where it truly excels is pushing. It performed very well clearing under 3 inches of snow and scraping down packed, run-over snow on my driveway. Think of this more as a plow or pusher than a traditional shovel. If you have a solid covering of snow, this is the tool you grab. Replacement parts are available and relatively inexpensive, which makes it a good long-term purchase. It’s definitely worth the one-time buy, with the option to replace parts down the line if needed. Overall, it’s excellent at what it’s designed for: pushing snow efficiently to the side.

So I’ve had this come through my newsfeed a lot over the past 3 years. I’ve always wanted to try it. I’ve always thought it would be nice to have a shovel twice as wide. It actually worked really well. The only thing I would say is that it moves so much snow that it gets hard to push quickly! It works great for light fluffy snow. It was nice to make a pass and actually feel like I was getting somewhere though! Also, thanks to the review that suggested drilling pilot holes when attaching the handle. It definitely made a difference! Overall, I’m happy with the shovel! It cut my shoveling time in half! Update: I came back after a few more uses to add to my review. I still keep my old shovel on my back deck to shovel it off when it snows. I shoveled my driveway with this shovel, then went to my deck with my old one. I can’t even believe I used to shovel my entire driveway with it! This one is SO much better and takes SO much less time! I am so happy I finally bought it!

I have the 48" plow (this review) from Amazon, and had to order the 44" version directly from the company because Amazon doesn't sell that one. Yes, I have two of these bad boys, don't be jealous. All I can say is GET ONE! I can't recommend a size because your requirements (area to be plowed) may differ, but if you're doing a driveway or large area then get the 48" (largest one made). This thing is bombproof. I keep the street in front of my house plowed better than the county! You'll have to figure out the best size and technique based on how you'll use yours, but you'll make short work of any snow you tackle. This is a PLOW, not a shovel, but anyone living in snow-laden areas should have a good complement of snow tools in their arsenal, and this is one of the best tools to have. This works best when you get a jump on the snow build-up, not after 3 or 4 (or more) inches has accumulated. If you have more than a few inches just get your shovel out and leave this tool alone, then just get a jump on it the next time. But, if you can manage to get a jump on the snowfall before it piles up, then this is the ultimate tool. Stay on top of things when snow is coming your way, even if it means putting your coat/boots back on every hour or two, you'll save yourself so much work in the end. There's plenty of videos on how these things are worth their weight in gold, so check a few out and decide which size(s) are best for your situation. Assembly is easy if you have a drill-type screwdriver. Don't be intimidated by the assembly, they've made it absolutely doable for just about anyone--you WILL need a 7/16" socket and/or wrench. Assembly instructions with picture are included in the box.

As many have said, this shovel is great for light snow in the 3-4" range. I did not have a problem lifting even heavier snow with the shovel, but because of the width (48"), it did have a tendency to tip one way or another if there was more snow on one side. The fact that it covers such a great area and pushes the snow the sides of the driveway make this a quick job. It's probably taking half the time or less for me to shovel our driveway. But it's also great at very quickly cleaning up after snowblowing. I found that the plastic blade does a very nice job scaping the concrete effectively. It feels very sturdy in the hand. Assembly was not easy, but manageable. It took a lot of leverage and force to get the screws to get into the plastic in order to assemble to handle to the blade. But if that means it won't come off or loosen, then I'm good with needing to apply that much effort. I'm 52 6'1" 200lbs and workout 4-5 days per week and it took all I had there to get them in. Using a smaller drill bit to pre-drill would have made the process much easier and I highly recommend. My wife who does not usually shovel had to use it while I was traveling and said she loved it. No better endorsement from my perspective! My neighbor has the 36" and loves it. When my current smaller shovel wears down I will buy a smaller version of this for sure! I hung the shovel using the bracket and screws that came with the shovel. Do not rest on floor or it will warp according to others. Maybe I just missed it, but I didn't realize it came with a wall bracket. It was simple to install and will prevent the warping.

This is a great shovel. I owned the 48” model when I lived in MN, and used it for more than a decade, and loved it. But in MN, you can go into any hardware store, and buy one of these already assembled, ready-to-go. Now I live in NC, and when I went to the store looking for a snow-shovel (which we rarely need), I just got confused looks. So I bought this 24” one on Amazon. There are a LOT of negative reviews, mostly complaining about assembly issues, or missing hardware. So let me set the record straight. YES you will need tools and some mechanical aptitude to assemble this shovel – so know that in advance. Why can’t the manufacturer make this clear in the description? Better yet, why can’t the manufacturer pre-drill pilot holes, and make this a lot easier for everyone? But having said that – it really is a high-quality, very sturdy shovel, and the included hardware is top-quality stainless. OK – here is what you need to know: First of all, the hardware is hiding. They stuff the bag of hardware into the cylindrical socket in the brace – where the handle inserts into – and where you would NEVER see it if you didn’t know to look there. As a guy who never reads instructions, I too was certain it had been shipped without hardware, until I noticed the sticker telling me where to look. Next – to assemble the blade to the brace, you will need TWO 7/16” wrenches, one for the bolt, and one for the Nylock nut. I used a 7/16” socket plus an open-end wrench. A crescent wrench or even a pliers can hold one end if that’s all you have handy. First get all the bolts assembled in their (pre-drilled) holes, but don’t tighten yet. Then go back and tighten-up the bolts across the blade, and finally the one on top. No need to really torque them down, just reasonable hand tighten so you don’t deform the plastic. (by the way this is REALLY high-quality plastic – incredibly tough and sturdy). This is the easy part. Finally – we get to what all the complaints are about: there are 3 self-drilling/tapping stainless screws which are intended to drill through the plastic brace, and then drill and thread into the thin steel tube of the handle, thus securing it to the blade assembly. There are no pilot-holes – you as the assembler, have to run these fasteners at the correct speed to drill through two different materials, and then not over-torque them and strip-out the screw in the handle. This is where everyone is complaining that you need a power screwdriver. Its true – no way you could do this with a hand screwdriver. In addition, while doing this drilling/tapping operation, you have to make sure the handle is fully inserted to the proper depth, AND the handle is rotated to the correct position. I’m an experienced machinist, yet I can completely understand why many would be hesitant with this step. If you have never used a fastener like this, you have no room for error – either it works for you the first time, or not. If you don’t have a pristine Phillips #2 head on your drill/driver, chances are that, even if you do everything perfectly, the screw can slip and get away from you while trying to drill into the side of a steel tube with no centerpunch, and go sideways. Moreover – once you finally drill through the steel tube of the handle, now the threaded portion engages, and with your drill still spinning at high-speed, the threads could rapidly hit bottom and strip-out the steel tube. Be careful. Take it slow. Or – better yet, pre-drill pilot holes with a 1/8” drill – then it is easy to thread the self- drilling/tapping screws in, even with a regular Phillips driver. With successful assembly, this shovel is great – I would give it 5-stars. But because of the assembly issues which are going to be a problem for many people, I have to subtract a star.

I thought this was an overpriced but typical snow shovel. Completely wrong! The plastic used is WAY stronger and more durable than the shovels I'm used to. Also, much heavier in weight. This pusher is actually a well designed, specialized tool. You have to adjust the way you use it in order to take advantage of its attributes. For one thing, the leading edge doesn't wear and bend. For another, it's capable of taking pretty serious impact with refrozen snow. But it searches out sidewalk joints and simply stops dead - I'm constantly surprised by how inflexible it is. Anyway, this thing is pretty neat, if you're looking for a serious tool. If you just want a $8 plastic snow shovel, this isn't it.

First of all it arrived early, bonus. It's not very often that a purchase exceeds expectations. This makes clearing snow from a smoothly paved driveway completely satisfying. I enjoyed clearing the snow, sounds crazy right! For real though, I would guess, only because I have not owned long enough to know the capabilities, that up to three inches of snow is cleared very efficiently and effectively. If I wear this one out I will be buying another. I will not be without one ever again.

Had an inch of fluffy snow this morning, so it was a perfect test of my new 24" snow pusher shovel. My driveway is 16' wide and 10' long and I was able to clear the driveway in 10 minutes with no lifting of snow involved. The curve of the shovel held the snow that piled up as I pushed it across the drive. At no time did any snow stick to the shovel surface. I realize that for heavier snows, it will be necessary to do the clearing in layers. For major storms, like earlier this week when 12" of heavy snow came down, I'll use the snow removal service. All in all, the Snowplow Snow Pusher is a very sturdy, easy to use snow removal tool. I never thought I would actually enjoy snow removal until I used it. Update: 2/14/25 - After a 4" snow, it rained, leaving a heavy, wet layer. The snow pusher could only move the snow maybe 2 feet before it piled up over the top. Since pushing any harder would have been hazardous to my health, my workaround was to push to the side in increments of a few feet. I was able to clear a narrow path from the front door to the mailbox. Even if I had my old gas powered snow blower, it would have stalled out or clogged trying to clear a wide path. The Snow Pusher is still a good buy.

Very good but too expensive for a Snowplow. Its very effective on powdery or light snow. Unfortunately its not good at lifting heavy and wet snow. And the price is too high!

It's good quality 👌🏼 but not for the price. I am not sure what I was thinking because you still have to push it with your human hands 💩 So far doing well after one winter of use. I'll keep updating the review overtime
