wow! A new Izngoud book in English - happy days!
Well well well, after all these years the original or first Iznogoud book has been translated into English - what a joy! All 8 of the existing Iznogoud editions published already by Cinebook have been translated before although prior to the Cinebook releases were very rare and jolly expensive via Ebay or elsewhere. Only lunatics like me would fork out silly sums of money to get them. However this book has (as far as I know) never been translated before. It is the first book from the original series. It consists of a set of smaller stories - which was the usual format during this era, and seemed to suit Iznogoud better than the long spiralling and jolly complicated stories that came later (has anyone tried reading La faute de l'ancêtre - what on earth is going on?). You can see the character development somewhat in the drawings a bit like you can with the early Asterix books and their main characters. The front cover is particularly colourful and vibrant - looks great! And there is promise of the next book "Iznogoud the relentless" - oh happy days. Thankyou Cinebook! Bring it on.
