This is the perfect device for home karaoke! What I like:Compact - it takes up hardly any space below the TVGreat sound - the mics sound great and are very simple to use. We've never had any problems with feedback, even when standing under the speakerBattery life - we've used the mics for about eight hours, and still full batteriesCables included - the packages includes all the cables you might need. I used both toslink cables to get sound from the TV in and then to my amplifier out.The device easily connected to my home stereo and plays over my in ceiling speakers. I didn't need to get a large, bulky device. I noticed my favorite KTV places have switched to just a tablet with YouTube on it. This is in fact a better experience than the dedicated units with downloaded midi songs. The same setup works great at home. Just use YouTube on your Smart TV, and connect this device to mix in your microphones.So much fun, and it's easy enough for the whole family to operate.

I bought this unit to connect between my TV and Receiver, in order for this to mix the TV sound and Mic sound. The mics connected immediately, and the microphone seems to be high quality. Popped the batteries in, and everything worked.I first had trouble making the Optical In/Out work at first. It seemed easy enough to plug a TOSLINK from TV to the unit to the receiver. It didn't work so I emailed tech support with detailed information. I frankly already knew that this company was responsive because they respond to every review on the product page. (This tells me it's a real company, offers a motivated staff, and while there aren't that many reviews, they are here to prove themselves.)I got a response back in about 36 hours, and the problem was immediately solved. The response was written well, it was obvious they read through my email and spent time understanding the issue. They even included screenshots for the configuration for my specific TV. It worked seamlessly. (I suppose an area of improvement is the included instructions. I feel like they could have mentioned this?)Changing my review from 1 to 5!

functionality wise, it is pretty good! no lag while using the optic cables from my tv to my sound bar, mics sound good for home karaoke. For the price to have it integrate into the tv and sound bar, amazing, with 4 mics as well!Lights in the middle of the module don't light up but the sound bar blocks it anyways for me so it doesn't bother me much.

What a disappointment. I was excited about this product and the fact that I could get it the following day through Amazon so I didn't read the hit or miss reviews.It arrived on time and was easy to connect the optical cables that come with it to the TV and my AV Receiver, but neither one of the microphones will pair to the Karaoke receiver.Following the troubleshooting directions in the manual I powered down the mic and the receiver. Then held the mic power button down til I got the flashing "1d". At that point I quickly released the power button and quickly press it one time which put it into pairing mode, which was confirmed by the flashing signal icon in the top right corner of the mic's LED display. Then I turned on the karaoke receiver and waited for it to pair and nothing. After about 10 seconds the mic moved out of pairing mode as the icon stopped blinking.It tried this several times and nothing. Tried it in an area that had no other electronic devices and nothing. Even when out and bought the best world champion AA alkaline batteries available just to check that box and nothing. Tried to contact the manufacturer, but their support line has better than bankers hours Mon-Fri from 10am to 5:30pm so I sent a detailed email help request.We'll see what happens, but regardless, any simple fix if one even exists should have been in the manual.

I am giving 3 stars since the setup was very easy and worked without any issue. Supplied optical cables were good and plugged in without any issue. However, when the unit is turned on, there's a pretty loud annoying hum (likely 60Hz mains being picked up). Also, the audio quality is a bit lower than direct connection, which I am ok with a product at $100.Assuming the hum was being picked up from the power adaptor, I powered it from my battery backup (used to charge my phone when travelling), but the hum is still there. I ordered a 1/4" Jack to RCA adaptor (since it only has 1/4" output) to see if the hum goes away.If I can't solve this, I would be returning it for a refund. Other than the hum, I really loved ease of use, packaging, and supplied accessories, although it would be great if they provide 1/4" jack to RCA breakout cables. If the hum is still present, I would be returning this.

I just bought a new Denon AVR -S970H to replace my decades old Harman Kardon AVR-25II. I found the old karaoke mixer Boston Audio PA-999S II together with its wireless microphone system not anymore compatible with the new AVR and its Dolby Atmos surround capability. I searched around and found the Sound Town was a mixer with built-in wireless microphone and two HDMI ports for in and out at a so much affordable price, and wanted to make a try with not so much confidence. After my complete setup via two HDMI cables from my Dell laptop to the mixer and from the mixer to the AVR, the Dolby Atmos surround from the speakers was so good and amazing that I could not tell the difference when connecting directly to the AVR or via the mixer to the AVR. Of course the high tone sounds from the mixer cannot be as good as directly from the AVR w/o the mixer. But you cannot ask for that for a mixer + built-in wireless phone + HDMI for a little more than a hundred dollars! I have not try to connect the HDMI output of the mixer to a 4K TV so I do not yet know how the mixer works with HD TV.

I have always wanted a karaoke system at home, but don't want those large PA speakers, or bother with complicated set up. I also did not want to spend a great deal of money for it, just something that works with my old Bose 3-2-1 system.This karaoke system kind of fit all my requirements; it's small, easy to set up, and includes everything needed to turn it on and enjoy. I had my high school son set up everything himself, and to my surprise, I did not have to help him one bit, except for getting him batteries for the microphones. After that, me and my kids were spending 3-4 hours singing, and only stopped because of dinner time.The system itself is very compact, and well made. The microphones are of good weight, feel very nice to hold, and give out decent sound quality. My only wish would be to see a bigger range on the sound controls, and maybe a few more built-in sound effects. However, for its price (under $100), it provides just about everything you need to enjoy karaoke at home (or take it along for your vacation), without spending money on any extra parts.All in all, truly happy with the purchase! Definitely recommending it to my friends.

I bought the Sound Town (SWM16-2MEGA) mixer and it works great, but the setup is a bit of a puzzle. If you’re like me, your Sony receiver usually handles everything through HDMI. However, to get the microphone sound to mix in, you have to separate the audio.Here is how I made it work:1.Plug your video source (I use an Apple TV) directly into the TV, not the receiver.2.Run an Auxiliary cable from the TV's audio out into the Input on the Sound Town mixer.3.Run the Output from the mixer (using the Aux to RCA cables) into the "CD" ports on the back of the Sony receiver.Once I switched the receiver over to the "CD" input, everything clicked. The sound is clear, no lag, and the microphones sound professional.If you’re struggling with a modern HDMI receiver, try this routing it works perfectly!

Very good one for home/party entertainment. Small and compatible with your tv and soundbar.

The voice output is very feeble, despite Toslink connected to my Denon AV receiver. Tried routing through a professional Yamaha mixer. Slight improvement but disappointing voice output. I have written to Soundtown too. They provided me with some solution. But not entirely satisfactory. Did anyone face the same low voice output issue? Any solution or suggestion will be helpful.
