My zippo is the standard model, but the measurements listed here are a few mm off the size of my current insert (36x50x12 mm). Will this fit?

I have a Zippo Armour (substantially thicker plate) in solid brass and the same Zippo Butane Single Torch to which you refer. This combination works superbly and is the perfect, in my opinion, solution to updating a liquid fuelled Zippo to gas. If your case is a “genuine” Zippo, it should all fit together...

What battery is needed

The insert does Not have battery it works with piezo ignition which usually lasts 10 years . The insert is covered by zippo guarantee and will be replaced free ie the ignition
