TacX Trainer Tyre - 26 x 1.25 Inches

I was a bit skeptical how this tire would work on my Elite Qubo Smart Trainer. I've been using my street tires before purchasing this one. With my street tires, I experienced slippage, loud noise, and a "thumping" sound as the rear wheel rotated over the trainer's contact area. My street tire also shed bits of rubber from the tire itself. When I installed the Tacx Trainer tire, these discrepancies where no more. No slippage, less noise, and no thumping noises. As for the rubber shedding, time will tell. I'm extremely pleased and would recommend it to anyone!

Not much to say except this is a good product/works as advertised. I use it on my second road bike for Zwift, and it has been flawless. It has logged over 3K miles with little wear (I use a Tac Neo-X). The initial set-up was a bit temperamental, but after laying the tire and wheel flat on the ground it was easy to fold the tube into the tire and attach it around the wheel.

Got this for my first on-wheel trainer, the Wahoo Kickr Snap. Did not experience any issues or dust, noise was minimal. It showed no outer signs of wear, but a very slight rhythmic bump turned out to be the lining wearing out and the tire distorting, until it got more pronounced on my last ride where the tube apparently pinched and blew out. It lasted 4300 km/2600 miles, so I guess that’s pretty good. I was just expecting longer than 9 months - but that’s still longer than my road tires.

This product is a must for your regular bike if it's on an indoor trainer. It's too bad that I waited to buy this tire until my old one failed -- it's so much better -- smooth and grippy -- that it's changed my attitude towards being on the indoor trainer. It was a little tough to mount, but not a real problem.

I used to use my old worn out tires on the I-Magic and wear them into oblivion to get everything but the oink out of them. However, they would slip and get bald spots and ride unevenly pretty fast and it made riding on the trainer less than stellar. I figured I would give the Tacx tire a chance, and it is much much better than the old tire discards. It is really grippy and yet durable, doesn't run hot, gives excellent traction and is more quiet. It rides with a lower frequency hum and gives a more 'road-like' feel because it's not slipping at all. I can't recommend the I-Magic (Fortius or the old one) from Tacx strongly enough, and this tire is a good one for those VR trainers. UPDATE 8/10/11 I've done many many miles on the trainer, and the tire just failed tonight. I think this is a lot of miles for the one tire, and shows it is as good as I espected or better. The current Amazon price of just over $30 is much better than the price I paid from Niagara cycle works when I got the first one. Definitely a great tire for indoor use on the trainer!

First, thanks to all the reviews who explained the size of the tire. Yes, if you have 700 x38C this tire will work for your indoor training cycling. There is no noise at all, I had my two month old son sleeping next to me and did not weak up. Traction is great and every cent worth it.

Purchased Jan 2019. It was exclusively used on a Kickr Snap. I don’t know the exact amount of miles or hours I put on the tire but it has begun to dry out and crack. I would estimate at the top end I did three one hour rides a month. Anyway, as of finishing a ride this morning, 04/21, it separated at the seem creating a bulge. This also caused the tire to go flat. Overall the tire was very smooth and quiet. I got a year out of it and it cost less than a decent road worthy tire. I would most likely order this again but definitely expected a little bit more durability. The time I did get out of was worth the money and smooth and quiet ride.

I've waited to write this review as I see no sense in reviewing products as soon as, or shortly after, you get them. In this case I was skeptical. I saw other negative reviews, but I needed an indoor trainer tire and knew Tacx made good trainers. Until I put this tire on I was destroying my good quality road tires at a rate of 1 every 150 trainer miles. Okay, so they weren't new tires, but they were good tires that had tread left, but maybe some small cuts etc. Regular tires heated up and delaminated far to fast, they also were noisier and tended to slip more easily I put this Tacx tire on and it was an immediate change for the better. Quieter, no slip - simply much better performance. So I finally wore it out, but that was after 2700 + miles. I never get that much life out of more expensive tires on the road so I'm happy with that number and am putting on my second tire tonight. No, it doesn't mount as easy as a nice supple high quality road tire, but who cares, that's not a problem when I'm in the comfort of my home shop. This is a great performing indoor trainer tire. I'm surprised anyone would think otherwise.

Ich fand ihn im Gegensatz zu den anderen Kollegen hier leicht zu montieren. Auch als „nicht Profi“. Alles eine Frage des Werkzeuges. Macht einen guten Eindruck. Geräusche sind okay, geht immer besser. Ist wahrscheinlich auch eher die Rolle. Preis oberes Niveau.

J'ai longtemps hésité avant de passer à l'achat car je trouvais cela pénible d'avoir à changer le pneu juste pour faire du home trainer. Après avoir utilisé mon pneu normal sur une dizaine de session (Continental Grand Prix), j'ai vite compris que mon pneu s’abîmait très vite. J'ai donc pris ce pneu que j'ai monté sur une deuxième roue que je réserve désormais au home trainer et c'est parfait ! 1- l'adhérence est excellente et c'est beaucoup plus fluide 2- le bruit est nettement diminué (j'ai mis un tapis anti vibration + un tapis de gym sous le home trainer et toujours pas de plainte de mes voisins d'en dessous :-) ) 3- le pneu n'a pas l'air de s'abimer et je pense qu'il durera longtemps...

Básicamente, hace lo que se espera de ella. Obviamente, no vale para salir a rodar en exteriores (no la he probado, pero se ve que no es esa su finalidad), pero para el rodillo es perfecta. No he notado que se haya reducido el ruido con respecto a la cubierta normal, pero sí que parece que aguantará mucho tiempo. En mi caso, la tengo montada en otra rueda que uso exclusivamente para el rodillo. No se me pasaría por la cabeza la idea de andar cambiando las cubiertas según vaya a usar la bici en rodillo o en carretera.

Ottimo copertone di marca Tacx, indispensabile per praticare i rulli in tutta sicurezza, un copertone a lunga durata sui rulli, abbassa notevolmente il rumore praticato dal rullo se si compara a un copertone normale.
