The Perfect Olive!
Overall Impression: Partanna Mediterranean Olives aren't just a condiment; they are a premium, destination ingredient. The branding promises a journey to Italy, and for once, the product delivers on that promise with remarkable fidelity. These olives represent a masterclass in balancing evocative storytelling with genuine, high-quality culinary substance. Flavor Profile: A Symphony, Not a Monotone The descriptionโs claim of a "symphony of flavors" is spot-on. There is a captivating complexity here that most supermarket olives lack. First Notes: You're greeted with a clean, bright salinityโthe "briny sweetness"โthat is sharp but not aggressive. Mid-Palate: The promised "earthy undertones" emerge, suggesting the olive's fruit and the mineral-rich soil of its origin. There's a subtle, almost nutty depth. Finish: A long, satisfying finish with a hint of bitterness and a whisper of the Mediterranean herbs and sunlight implied by the "sun-drenched origins." Itโs complex enough to be interesting on its own, yet balanced enough not to overwhelm. Verdict: This is a sophisticated flavor profile. Itโs not simply "salty" or "sour." It has layers that unfold as you eat, making each olive a small, rewarding experience. It truly transports you, as promised. Texture & Craftsmanship: The Proof in the Bite The "quality craftsmanship" is most evident in the texture. These are firm, meaty, and substantial. They offer a satisfying "pop" rather than a mushy collapse. This indicates careful handling and a curing process (likely brine-cured, given the moistness) that preserves the olive's structure. You taste the olive itself, not just the brine it sits in. The jar is filled with plump, vibrant green (or purple, depending on the variety) olives suspended in a clear, golden oil that is itself flavorful. Versatility: The Ultimate Culinary Canvas The description nails it: these are a culinary companion, not just a garnish. As a Snack: Unparalleled. Straight from the jar with a glass of crisp white wine or a cold beer, they are a luxury. On Charcuterie & Cheese Boards: They add color, texture, and that essential savory-saline counterpoint to rich cheeses and salty meats. In Cooking: They elevate everything. Chop them into a pasta puttanesca or salad nicoise. Tapenade becomes a revelation. They add a punch of umami and brine to stews, braises, and even grain bowls. The firm texture holds up well to heat. Origin & Authenticity: You Taste the Place The "sun-drenched groves of Italy" and "rolling hills of Tuscany" aren't just empty romanticism. There's a distinct terroir at play. The flavor profile lacks the uniformity and sometimes metallic tang of mass-produced, quickly lye-cured olives. Instead, it has a rounded, "natural" character that speaks of slow ripening, hand-harvesting, and traditional methods. This is the taste of a specific place and process, not a generic "olive" flavor. Value & Final Judgment Partanna olives are a premium product with a price to match. However, the value is clear: Flavor Complexity: They offer a tasting experience akin to a fine cheese or charcuterie. Texture Integrity: The meaty bite justifies the cost versus cheaper, softer alternatives. Culinary Utility: Their versatility means they earn their keep in multiple applications. Authenticity: You are paying for traceable origins and traditional craftsmanship. Who is this for? Food Enthusiasts & Home Cooks who want to elevate their dishes with a genuine, high-impact ingredient. Gourmet Gift Givers looking for a sophisticated, pantry-staple present. Anyone tired of bland, briney supermarket olives who wants to understand what a great olive tastes like. Who might skip it? Those who use olives only as an occasional, hidden ingredient where subtlety is key. Consumers on a strict budget for whom olives are a casual snack, not a featured component. Final Score: Perfect! Partanna Mediterranean Olives live up to every poetic promise in their description. They deliver a rich, complex, and textured flavor that feels authentic and luxurious. They transform from a simple garnish to a star ingredient. For the discerning cook or eater, they are not just an excellent oliveโthey are a benchmark. A true "masterpiece of flavor and craftsmanship" that earns its place in the gourmet pantry. Highly Recommended.

Fabulous Olives!
Excellent olives! Came safely wrapped and not dented.. They have a fantastic taste and are not mushy as they still have their stone. In case you were wondering about storage after opening I emptied the can with brine into two 64oz ball jars and it fit perfectly (about 25 olives left over) The brine covered all the olives all the way to the top. Highly recommend these olives and a fantastic price to boot. These particular olives also take on any flavors very well too if you want to put them in flavored oils.

Good flavor but not great texture.
These are tasty but not spicy and not firm. I dont like squishy olives and these were squishy. The olives have good flavor but would not purchase again due to the squishyness.

Buyer beware
But from another supplier, best to go to the grocery store if you can in your area. Iโve bought this item from other stores and they are such a delicious olive. Crisp al dente olives flavored in a citrus brine with a hint of lemon. Butโฆ this supplier both jars lids were not tightly closed. I know crazy but I tasted both jars that were shipped and that the olives were soft and not an el dente texture and did have that same crisp flavor, I quickly threw them away. I can only guess that the bottles tops came loose in shipping and that theyโre tampered with or it is a false labeled item. โWhatever the case buyer bewareโ

Good cost value
Loving the olives cause now I dont have to rummage through costco for the smaller Asaro jars. The saltiness and the sourness are perfect for me.

OK olives
The olives were ok. I would have appreciated a can that didn't have dents when I received it.

1 jar, leaking/damaged
I am not making new packaging to return leaking/damaged olives that were unclear about how many jars there would be in the first place, nor do I want a replacement single leaky overpriced jar. No idea if they were intact how good they would or would not be.

Olives are delicious. Package arrives barely intact. All 3 cans I bought were dented upon arrival.
I have purchased 3 cans of these olives over the last month. As mentioned, the olives are of a high quality, and taste great! However who ever packs these items, places them into a box too large, with ZERO packing or insulation. The last two deliveries arrived with the boxes barely containing the contents, and all cans were badly dented. One can I need to take a hammer and screwdriver to - in order to straighten out the lip on the can enough to be able to open it with a can opener. Again great product, POOR neglectful packaging.

Don't buy unless you own a restaurant and have low standards
This is a ridiculous amount of olives. I only bought because a review said they were delicious but they are mushy and there is no way cover the tin once open. Worst purchase ever. Gave 1 star only because there was no lower option.

I love the olives
Would be better if they were unpitted but still are very tasty with a lovely buttery texture.
