Only $13.00 For Significant Pain Relief? Go Figure!
I misdiagnosed myself, thinking that the formidable pain I was experiencing in my left thumb was the result of eating too much red meat and resulting in gout. The pain began radiating through my wrist so I ordered a Sammons Preston Thumb Spica Wrist Brace to stabilize both. While the wrist brace component worked extremely well, my thumb continued to wobble and cause pain. So I decided to order this Vive Arthritis Thumb Splint for a whopping $12.99.What a difference in stabilization!!! Putting it on reminded me of the full arm cast I had put on 50 years ago while playing basketball in graduate school. A hard pass caught my left thumb with enough force to dislocate the thumb, resulting in it hanging off my fist. Of course I was with a bunch of guys and tried to "tough it out". I gave my wrist a good hard shake to try to put it back into place -- which failed miserably. Fortunately we were playing on a basketball court within 100 feet of the hospital. The last thing that I remember was the ER doctor counting back from 5. It was probably at 3 when he put it back into place and I passed out cold. It's been a long time since this thumb has bothered me so that wasn't my first guess as to cause of pain. However, putting on this Vive Arthritis Thumb Splint stabilized it immediately and gave me a sigh of relief. What a stroke of luck to have found something that worked so quickly! It is easy to put on, stabilizes both wrist and thumb, and most of it is composed of breathable material. That's important since we live in hot and humid Southwest Florida. My wife was so impressed when she watched me typing this review (with the brace on) that she wants me to order one for her right thumb. She also has a Sammons Preston wrist brace but can't wear it at work because she is a Nurse Practitioner and it limits her ability to perform her job. She also wants one in beige since it isn't so noticeable. I hope that it helps her as much as it has delivered relief to me.

So far so good
Ordered this thumb splint to try to immobilize a sprained thumb. Needed enough support and immobilization so I'd stop irritating the joint and tendons dozens of times a day - i.e. long enough to stop re-inflaming the joint to allow it to heal. On first blush this seems to do the trick. The two splints are stiff enough to keep me from the inadvertent painful movements that were inflaming the joint. The three velcro straps made it easy to adjust the brace - starting with the thumb- to provide the support and reduce the motion that I needed. As a thumb splint, the other straps only need to be snug - no need to overtighten them cutting of circulation. With icing, ibuprofen, and the brace, the acute painful sensitivity and ongoing inflammation has rapidly subsided. I'll give it a few more days - just to be cautious- before trying to gently strengthen the joint with a hand held gel ball.My only concern is that the stitching on the edging around the edge seem VERY coarse (low stitch count per inch) and I'm a little concerned about how it will hold up. But so far so good. This brace has - so far- done exactly what I needed, at a very reasonable price. We'll see how it holds up moving forward (thus only 4 stars) but I'm very glad to get the relief I've needed. So far so good.

Excellent Support for Carpal Tunnel
I've been using this product for 3 weeks now and the pain/tingling in my wrist is somewhat better. This brace fits well and is comfortable to wear all night. The Velcro on the beige one is easy to pull apart. Surprisingly, the black one is more challenging for me to undo the Velcro, but it was not worth exchanging. Overall, I am very pleased with this product.

Very comfortable and works great!
I recently started feeling the symptoms from " De Quervain's" syndrome (tendonitis) in both my thumbs and wrists. Its a surprisingly painful condition and creates pain not only in the thumb, but in the wrist as well. I have a medium size hand and the brace is adjustable and very comfortable, secure and soft inside. You won't need to wear a stockinette with it. All three Velcro straps are very wide, strong and adjuatable. There is a brace and strap for the thumb, one across the palm and another across the wrist. The brace immobilizes my hand in just the right places and just the right amount. Although the thumb is isolated and somewhat impeded, which is the idea, the brace still allows for typing and texting. The thumb couldn't be tightened as much as I would've liked, so I wrapped some 2" self-adhesive bandage around it to make it snugger. You can also try some medical cloth tape or try stuffing some cotton balls inside. Amazingly, I felt instant relief as soon as I put on the braces. I couldn't believe it. I've been wearing both of them for 2 weeks now and they are both holding up very well. The Velcro and stitching are still intact, although I can tell the material is stretching out a bit, but that can be resolved by tightening the two straps around the hand. I really love these braces and they've helped me a great deal and I've even kept them on when I sleep. I actually hate to take them off because they feel so good. It reminds me of the pain relief after a doctor has casted a broken bone. These braces, along with thumb and wrist exercises, have reduced my pain significantly. For anyone interested in trying physical therapy exercises, there are some great videos on YouTube created by physical therapists and orthopedic surgeons, that demonstrate various hand exercises specifically for De Quervain syndrome. Great product and pain relief too! Don't hesitate to buy it to relieve your pain.

Fantastic support but poor quality
These braces are a wonderful support for the arthritis in my lower thumb joints. I ordered one for each hand and they actually work better than the ones my Occupational therapist made for me. there is a BIG problem though--or actually a couple of problems. 1. When i unwrapped one of the braces, the velcro that holds the thumb in place was literally hanging from a thread, the sewing was defective. Because i wanted to use the brace as soon as possible, i sewed the velcro back on by myself. It didn;t look pretty but worked for a while. Now, a month after i bought the braces, neither thumb velcro grips enough to stay closed. They just pop open as soon as i close them. I did clean the velcro from dust and fuzz and it didn;t help. I guess i’m just going to have to sew the velcro closed to use the braces. I’ll let the seller know this and perhaps they will replace them.

Good Support, Still Functional
Does the job well. It keeps your wrist and thumb stabilized while still allowing you to do a few basic tasks. The larger size fits most people unless you have a very small wrist.

Pain reliever
I am in agony from overuse and after trying many other braces, this one is by far the best. It’s a great stabilizer. I honestly couldn’t imagine not having it. It’s a big pain reliever for me.
