Anodea Judith's Chakra Yoga

I love referring to this book, when I want to do a focused flow with a specific chakra. The information about the chakras, is well planned out, and detailed. I would like to have some sounds or mantras included for each specific Chakra, and then this could be a yoga chakra go to. My favorite part is the flows created for each chakra, and the break down of the poses.

I've recently fallen in love with yoga and go to a studio 2-3 times weekly. This book is PERFECT for helping start my home practice and supporting my goals related to energy healing of the chakras. I love, love, love the poses and sequences listed, and they're great to do exactly as-is or to mix and match a few poses from each chakra! There is a beautiful flow to these sequences, and they're challenging too. I will be using this wonderful book for years to come!! Highly highly recommend.

First yoga book I purchased and I am so pleased with the author’s approach to instruction. Descriptions and photos makes easy to understand. Poses organized into Chapters by Chakra. Besides yoga classes twice a week, I do my own yoga session twice a week. I am motivated to start and complete my own sessions by working one chapter per session. I have enough time to add my own favorite poses too. I am between Level I & II. This book is good for Beginners who can leave out more advanced poses.

What a wonderful book. Anodea does a wonderful job describing each pose and different things you can focus on in each asana that allows you to dig deeper and experience each pose more fully. The sequences she has put together for each chakra are powerful. The photography is fantastic. I appreciate that she has a section in which she fully describes each asana but then also has a section where she just has the photos of the poses for when you've gained familiarity with the sequence. I am happy breathing exercises are covered, too, and not just the physical poses. It's been my go to book for my home practice ever since I ordered it months ago.

Another beautifully and articulately composed book from Anodea Judith. I love how this is set up by chakra and breaks down each pose with pictures, specific cuing, and guidelines. I have never felt more able to conceptualize the energy of the chakras as present within the asanas as after reading this book. It is a super great follow-up to her Eastern Body, Western Mind.

As a yoga teacher I enjoyed this tremendously. Judith's writing is so poetic in areas that truly present wonderful analogies to understand the chakras by. This was a wonderful tool for me as a yoga teacher. There is so much wonderful advice and ideas to hook onto in this book! If I had one criticism it would be the asana sequences being offered really need to be sequenced differently for a safe and proper practice-- but for an experienced yoga teacher that is not difficult to adjust. All in all this has become my personal "Chakra bible"- Thanks Judith🙏

I love Anodea Judith’s work and she is top notch (I highly recommend Wheels of Life!), her work is detailed and incredibly helpful. But my copy of the book has poor editing and some of the pictures are placed badly so they block out the text. I noticed this is the First Edition fourth printing in 2017. Maybe a bad batch? Ugh it’s frustrating because I want to take in every single word of hers!!! Giving 4 stars, docking 1 Star because poor publishing, but the author’s work is excellent. Otherwise 5 stars.

As the book suggests, this book covers the various yoga poses affiliated with each of the chakras. I highly recommend this book. The author knows yoga as well as the chakras very well and ties them together in an easy to follow book. Its divided by chakra and is color coded by chakra so you can find what you're looking for quickly and easily. Great read.
