Yes the base is made soley for that use. It does come with the bracket pre installed

What is the actual thickness of the board, not including the height of the suctions cups underneath?

I opened one of the ones I have in stock and measured it. It's exactly 3/4" thick. Thanks

The pictures have larger suction cups that have tabs to relief the suction , what arrived are smaller lacking the relief tabs. Product will work, however I suggest seek out the version with suction cups with relief tabs! much more durable in the restaurant kitchen!
