Good reso head and snare wire to pair with this?

I put a fat snare on top and my 6x12" sound more deep and quiet! Sound very good to me.

I have a pearl African mahoghany (13 inch) that I usally tune high for a good pop sound. Will this head accentuate or repress the pop?

Yes!! Absolutely 100%!! I use this on all of my snares and its the only one you can tighten up all the way to get that pop! The best is on my wood snares (it does the same for metal made snares also) and it is hands down the most durable, best made best sounding snare head on the market! I hope this helps? :)

How's the response for this head - am thinking brushes, specifically. And when uptuned do you get a good "crack" from it?

recommendations for snare batters that are brush friendly are pretty narrow The preference is usually for coated/textured heads As far as crack goes evans categorizes this particular head as dark therefore less cracky in my opinion However, bottom line for crack probably has more to do with the drum characteristics than the head
