API POND ALGAEFIX Algae Control 64-Ounce Bottle (FF-169D)

Works great! Fish and plants are safe, dogs drink from the pond and they are OK too ha ha 😅 I had bought a lily with a little bit of string algae and within a few weeks it was spreading and the entire pond was turning green so I looked up a bunch of different solutions and this seemed to be the safest and best results. I used as directed with about a quarter cup per 600 gallons and it did ok, but there was still major algae on my beautiful rocks so I drained the pond half way, let the sun cook the algae on the dry rocks for a couple days then mixed about 1/8 of a cup of the algae fix in a spray bottle of water and coated the stones where algae was and let it sit for a hour before filling the pond back up with hose water and turning the little stream back on and WOW 🤩 I can see the detail in the stones again with ZERO scrubbing and the stones under the ones I sprayed are also starting to clean up with crystal clear water!! Will definitely use when needed for ever

This stuff is awesome! I’ve used this for years! You can see it working within 15 minutes as bubbles start to rise to the surface. In 1 day you can see a difference. If you are pitch green and can’t see anything it will take about a week and you may need to retreat. My only complaint is the price tag. I want to try another brand too because I can’t keep up with the price. Other competitive brands offer algaecides $20 less. I buy about 2-3 a year, so that’s my only complaint.

I use this in my 75-gallon front yard pond, which has 4 feeder goldfish and solid filtration. At first, I wasn’t sure it would make much of a difference—but after several applications, the water suddenly turned crystal clear. That said, it doesn’t stay that way long. We usually need to reapply once a week, and sometimes even hit it 2–3 days in a row when it clouds up again. In my experience, the dosage instructions are too conservative. The recommended amount didn’t do much, so I doubled the dose (safely) and that’s when I saw results. It’s a bit of a process, but if you stay on top of it, it really works. I’d give it five stars if it lasted longer between applications or worked faster, but overall it’s a solid algae control solution.

I have a large, heavy birdbath, top part of a fountain. I use a little bit of this in the water and it works great! Doesn’t bother the birds.

This stuff is amazing! I have a 40 gallon freshwater tank with lots of tropical fish in it. My tank is well established, but I've been having some issues with algae growing on the tank decorations and on the glass. I do water changes about once a week, I also have a very good quality canister filter. But managing the growth of algae was a major problem. So I bought a bottle of the Algaefix and I used exact as directed on the bottle. Within a few hours my tank was crystal clear. I couldn't believe how fast and efficiently it worked. I'm happy to report that all of my fish are doing very well. This product did not harm them at all. I definitely recommend this to anyone who's having an issue with too much algae growth, just be sure and follow the directions on the amount to use.

Good product and effective but hard on fish at recommended dose.

I usually hate reading reviews, but this one definitely needed one I have been struggling to keep my pond clean. I have a lot of fish and two turtles in it and everything I tried never worked. I was ready to give up. So I ordered the appi algae fix and also the purifier . I received it on June 5 for the bottle directly as it said and could not believe the difference. I guess I’m keeping my pond instead of filling it in. First photo is before putting the product in second one is six days later clear as could be.

NOT for koi! DO NOT BUY FOR KOI POND picture of my pond for attention so my review reaches more people. I have a 500 gallon and some change stock tank pond for my koi. I have spent HUNDREDS of dollars trying to save koi that were dying all along from this stupid ass chemical. Went so far as replacing my tank to a rubber one because I was convinced the heat was leaching zinc from my old tank. WHOLE TIME it was this algaefix. I even used this treatment 3 different times with 3 different doses trying to give it benefit of the doubt and playing trial/error because I could not believe a fish safe treatment WITH KOI ON THE FRONT OF THE BOTTLE could be killing my fish. $500 replacing a tank and $200 worth of koi GONE because of whatever toxic bs is in this bottle!!!! The first time, I used the properly measured dose for 400 gallons (I always under measure bc I’m careful about toxicity). All fish dead within 2 hours. The next time (remember I had no idea this was the cause of death) I did 1/2 of the recommended dose (thinking maybe my math was wrong the first time just being careful) 2 fish dead over night the other 2 I was able to save in an emergency tank. Fast forward, I replace my tank with a rubber stock. Move my 2 fish I saved back outside and got 2 more fish. They’ve been fine for the last 2 months. It’s been 110 degrees this week, I’m having a bad algae bloom so About 30 minutes ago I added ONE teaspoon of algae fix to 400 gallons of water and all of my fish are gasping at the surface. 1000% confirmed that this algaefix has cost me $700 and a collective 70+ hours in fish rescue and pond demo. DO NOT BUY IT. I will now spend all night FOR THE THIRD TIME trying to keep my fish alive diluting pond water and using every form of aeration I have for the next 5 hours because of this sorry ass good for nothing company. It works but expensive for ponds

It beats buying the smaller bottles.

Amazing results on just two days. Two months of algae bloom due continuous rain and sunny weather. Never experienced this in with my pond before. Fishes could no longer be seen. Fantastic API Algaefix ... My pond is restored to be crystal clear again.
