Excellent Camera. Excellent Support
I tried several other cameras before finding Barlus - The Barlus 316L is by far the best I have found. My experience with the cameras has been excellent. I have 6 of them installed in the ocean at the end of a 175ft dock in about 10 ft of water, and 1 about 350 ft from shore at a depth of 35ft. The camera body is extremely solid stainless steel construction. It is sturdy and comes with its own mounting bracket. It has held up well in the ocean including during big storms. The image quality in reasonable light is very good. It comes with small LED+infrared lights, but I found these less useful and don't use them much as I have bright underwater lights under the dock). The support was excellent - when I reached out with questions they responded quickly and were very helpful in helping me address the issue. For me the only slight negative of the cameras is that the interface to configure them is a bit dated. It requires a MS windows-based browser with ActiveX support. Despite that it is quite functional and surprisingly configurable. I access the cameras using RTSP (which was very simple to setup). I would strong recommend these cameras to anybody looking for solid, reliable, excellent quality underwater cameras at a reasonable price.

Exceptional build quality. Amazing image quality! Professional grade. Just works!
This camera is fantastic! The build quality is outstanding - far exceeded my expectations. Solid metal. Durable cable. Substantial lens. The whole thing is professional grade; something I would expect to be far more expensive than it is. I've been using the camera for over six months, including freezing temperatures. It just works! The image it transmits is amazing. I loved my fish pond before, but this underwater camera takes it to a whole new level. We stream the feed on YouTube, and my mom loves to keep it up on her screen. So do I! I'm super impressed and happy with this purchase.

No response from tech support/Difficult set up
No tech support. The directions for the software that you download do not match the actual software that comes with the camera. That being said, there is nobody to connect with for tech-support other than emailing China with no response! The camera looks well-made, but setting it up is impossible and there is no support to do so. So frustrating. Will likely have to return and switch manufacturers.

Works well, but many set up hurdles
The camera quality and image is excellent. I struggled with projecting the image to my TV, setting up the NVR and the app worked but now stopped communicating. It's tricky stuff and this camera should be sold as a package with POE ethernet switch, NVR and very good instructions. Customer support is good but from China, so best by email.

Well made camera for the price
I have an 800 gallon above ground pond. I wanted to be able to watch the fish activity as I planned to had a few more this spring. Here in south Texas the water temps are in the mid 70's so am experiencing a mild algae bloom. My solution is to add a yearly dose of a few Tilapia and Plecos and the pond will clear up. The camera magnifies just how green the water is but the image is excellent. Packaging was excellent and installation was a breeze. Just connected to my Gryphon mesh router access point via ethernet, plugged in the power to everything and had Blue Iris locate the camera. Took about 5 minutes from start to finish. Blue Iris will support up to 60+ cameras so it also comes highly recommended.

It's a solid camera, but you might need to have some technical chops to get it working
I originally gave this camera 1 star because it's a super nice piece of gear but we encountered a ton of issues trying to set it up. I'm adding two more stars -- one because once it's working, it works well, and another because tech support was quick and responsive.First issue: As shipped, the camera is configured for a fixed IP address 192.168.1.10. We first tried to connect the camera directly to a Mac, but got stuck when it insisted on downloading Windows software. We then connected it to the network and learned that the browser-based configuration only works from IE. After several false starts, we managed to get it working on our network. We later learned there was a beta version of VMS for Mac OS X on the included thumb drive which may or may not have made things easier.Note that if your internal network is *not* on the 192.168.1/24 segment *or* if you already have a 192168.1.10 device on your network, you're going to have to do some configuration work somewhere before you can start talking to the camera.Second issue: There are no obvious instructions on how to reset the camera back to factory defaults. We learned there's a utility on the included thumb drive that would let us do this.Third issue: Our internal network is 172.30.1/24. We wanted to have our DHCP server assign a fixed IP address by Mac address but couldn't get it to work. We kept checking the "Use DHCP" option, but the device repeatedly ended up using some random address. We ended up disabling DHCP on the camera, setting it to a fixed IP, and reserving that IP on our DHCP server to avoid future conflicts.Fourth issue: The DIY troubleshooting available from the "Get Support" link on Amazon is written for a completely different camera and does not apply. If I could only make one suggestion to the seller, it would be a rewrite of the documentation that comes in the box -- especially where platform-specific steps are required. Digging through the apps and readmes on the thumb drive just wasn't a user-friendly experience.Final assessment: I'm pretty happy with the camera now that it's working and I'd definitely look at this brand for other camera needs... but it took several hours of head-scratching to increase my level of confidence.

Great camera for a great price and amazing support.
I was a little concerned about the reviews about the difficult set up but it wasn't that hard and the support was amazing! They helped me several times to get the camera connected and the app set up on my phone for viewing. Also I got a wireless extender with a ethernet outlet so I could plug in the camera close to the pond.the view is so clear and I'm having so much fun watching my fish and turtles from a whole new perspective. The only issue I'm having is not the camera or service but my fish Nemo who LOVES the camera and parks right in front of it often like he is some sort of movie star!
